Staff was extremely kind. Convenient location for people travelling. It's in a shopping center. Was a pain booking my room. The site wasn't working, and the people I contacted to book the room over the phone had issues as well. Room wasn't very clean. Good enough for a quick stay if you are a member and get discount codes in your email. Using them aren't easy though.
It is the worst hotel I have ever been in my whole life. Terrible customer service. The smell is terrible, the walls dirty and with dead insects stuck to the wall. We requested towels and were asked to wait two hours. When trying to enter another of the reserved rooms the keys did not work for three times. No page that respects should recommend this sty.
Room are very clean n huge. Stuff is very friendly and helpful. They have pool, Basket ball and gym I advise all the travaler to stay here they will love it This hotel is like apartment style so you wont feel tat you are staying hotel
We were there for the solar eclipse in Columbia South Carolina. At very best this place is a third-world in ghetto. It is filthy... Rat infested... Grimy and after we checked in they sent us a bottle of Febreze. That should tell you what a garbage can this place is. Of course checkout time is standard around noon. We left at 6:30 in the morning as tired as we were just to get the hell out of this third world garbage can. Do not stay at this place! It is no surprise that it was the only place that still had rooms during the eclipse for which they charged more than the Hilton. You would be better off in a Pakistani mud hut.
We had a great kidsy type of getaway and were impressed with the location of our room, it's spaciousness, the fact there was a full kitchen and office area in the room with a flat screen featuring most HBO's. It's close to alot of Columbia Area Attractions such as Edventure, Riverbanks Zoo, and many others. We felt refreshed and renewed while there, bathtubs are shiny and great for toddlers who love to bubble bath. There's also a pool which seemed appealing although it was still a tad too chilly for us that time. Also, the gals at the front desk were kind and thoughtful each encounter and that makes a great difference to a guest.
After reading mixed reviews about this location from many online sources i decided to take a chance and roll the dice on this location. Boy am I glad that i did! I was highly impressed with the staff and even more impressed with the rooms! We stayed in the double room Queen and it was literally like a smaller home, bedrooms upstairs and down, both had their own bathroom, nice living area, and kitchen area for quick eats. Also the price for the night was amazing, so much bang for your buck. Location is nice as well just right outside of the noisy downtown area so you got a great nights rest but close enough that a 2 miles drive has you right back in the mix! I plan to stay here again and again.
First impression was "what's that smell?!" Febreze trying to mask something, and failing..... Stains on bedspread, curtains, burns in carpet (in a no smoking room??). Holes in dresser where first tv was installed, then holes in wall where replacement tv once was, now replaced by a much(!) smaller tv, with connection cables snaked in pvc across the wall. Most furniture well-distressed. Numerous lightbulbs inoperable, smoke detector dangling, only one waste basket in a "suite" (hmmm, kitchen or bathroom?), etc., etc. And cheap, scratchy toilet paper. I don't blame the staff-- fixtures were reasonably clean, desk folks were nice. Just a tired old owner-neglected property.
I have contractors staying in the Suburban Extended Stay at 150 Stone Ridge Drive in Columbia S.C. They checked in 03/06/2017 and plan to be at that location approx six weeks. These men working out of town supporting famlies and staying at Extended Stay Hotels are our fathers, husbands and bothers. They deserve the same cleanliness as any other hotel guest. My contractors submitted pictures to me of their guest room that showed repairs that needed to be made. For example: 1) Kitchen Sink Faucet Leaking 2) Bathroom Shower Head Old/Rusty 3) Wall Vent Detached/Hanging from Wall 4) Cigarette Burn Holes in Sheets that were on the beds made up by housekeeping 5) Cigarette Burn Holes in Blanket that were on the beds made up by housekeeping 6) Cooktop missing in room. A countertop was covering an opening where cooktop/oven used to be and there were even a few pots available for use in the cabinets. Why was there an opening on a kitchen counter but lacking a cooktop? Choice Hotels advertises 'well equipped kitchens'. I should not have had to call maintenance to have a cooktop installed. If certains rooms are being renovated, then guests should not be put in them in the first place. Our company has placed contractors in many hotels when out of state. I have never run into maintenance issues like this. It's totally unacceptable that housekeeping would put sheets and blankets on bed for guests that have visible cigarette burn holes in them. These linens should be discarded rather than trying to save money. In fact, as of today, the blankets still have cigarette burns in them after three weeks. Guests should not be placed in rooms with towel racks hanging off the wall, rusty shower heads and vents loose on the wall. And why is management not overseeing the issue before guests have to bring it to their attention? I contacted Jeet Gosai, Mgr on site. He apologized and sent maintenance to the room. In all fairness, he offered to move them to a different room but by then it was more trouble for my guys to move so he fixed some of the issues. But why did It have to be brought to management's attention in the first place? I asked Mr Gosai for a discount for the inconvenience, which I did not thiink unreasonable, and he said he was unable to do that. Shame on you and your parent company Choice Hotels which I wrote to as well, and never heard from. Our company will finish their contract in Columbia, SC and never again stay at a Suburban Extended Stay.
If I could give this place a negative, I would. Harrassment from the owner about some no visitors after 9pm. WTF?! This bozo is asking to enter the room to see how many people are in the room at the moment. Seriously?! This is crazy. I would never stay at this joint. I'd camp out first. We were just watching the game and this guy was tripping. We were not even making any noise. Anyway. HATED IT.
Great hotel! Five stars everything! It was an amazing stay after a 2 moth training in Ft. Jackson. Me and my husband had a great time over at the hotel. Peaceful environment and a great location. Very great prices for rooms and overall super economic and great!
