First, if you are a person who nit picks about everything, move on to somewhere else. This is an outdated establishment, but it was clean with no bugs. I checked in at 8pm and left at 11 am, so I only needed a place to sleep. I arrived on a Sunday night, so the parking lot was empty. The room they assigned me had the exterior light burnt out. I had trouble opening the door, though the light turned green when inserting my card. After about the 5th time, it opened. Turns out there is wide weather stripping on the bottom that was caught on the carpet. I reached for the wall switch and no light. I finally found the switch on the lamp. First glimpse, yes very outdated, but I can only imagine how much it costs to keep these places updated with all the competition. As I said, it was clean and no bugs in sight. The front door was not the most attractive and you could definitely see light at the bottom of the door, but the heater kept the room nice and toasty (I would suggest bringing slippers though). They have breakfast that ends promptly at 9:00 (a bit earlier than I wanted to be ready), but there is a waffle house next door if you are a late sleeper. I wanted biscuits and gravy, which there were no biscuits in the tray, but he brought 2 out for me. I imagine they didn't want to overcook with not much business. Really no complaints as I just needed a nights stay, but if you pick places apart when staying, choose another more expensive place.
I have written my review! Again, I feel I was ripped off by management for wanting to check in early at 1:00 pm and I was told that there would be a $25 or $30 addition for checking in before 3:00 pm. I have since found another hotel that doesn't pull a rip off for checking in early. Thanks
A pleasant surprise. Found it because of Google maps while on a road trip and was not disappointed. Would definitely stay there again. Thank you for a such a great fiND to add to our list of favorite places to stay in our travels.
very good hotel, clean. staff was friendly and helpful. Close enough to downtown to make it convenient. the pool was a welcome fringe benefit. Near the local highways and restaurants. I wish the continental breakfast had more options.
Parents weekend at Mizzou. Hotels sell out early. 6months early and this was one of the only remaining hotels. It was a 2-star in reviews. However, don't stay here unless absolutely necessary. it has dirty, stained carpet. So dirty you won't want to walk on without shoes. Uneven, noisy floors. Some lights not work. Dirty bathtub/shower.
The place has a great staff, but it is in need of a face-lift. The biscuits/gravy was good, but there was no other choices on the food line other than cereal and toast so it could use some attention. Over all, it is a great value for your money!
I get a room at budget a couple times a month. I go out of my way to specifically see Casey or Jenifer. My face is remembered, my room is clean, always a pleasant experience for me. Thanks ladies. These women are the reason I come back
Upon checking in went into the bathroom and there was urine on the toilet, black ring around the toilet, and black foot prints in the tub. I went to the front desk let them know we would be leaving for a little while and to please have someone come in and clean the room. I also let them know that the room smelled very strong of cigarette smoke. When I returned late in the evening the bathroom had been cleaned. I went to get ready for bed looked at the sink and it was covered in hair (looked like where a man had shaved his beard). I pulled the covers back on the first bed and there was hair on the sheets. I decided to look at the second bed also and there were paw prints on those sheets. We had already encountered a few fleas and now I why. I went to the front desk to let them know that we could not stay there and would like a refund. The front desk called the manager and they refused. The manager stated that her head housekeeper had been sent in to clean that room and there was nothing wrong with it. Needless to say. Worst experience ever with a hotel. We did leave and ended up driving back home 3 1/2 hours that night. When we left the hotel there was a fight in the parking lot police were being called. So maybe not such safe place anyways. I would spend a few extra bucks and stay else where next time for sure.
This motel leaves A LOT to be desired. The air conditioner was extremely noisy (I'm glad that I had ear plugs). The ice machine was broken and the staff was unable to provide ice from any other source. There was no soap in the dispenser in the bath. The place was relatively clean, but frayed and tired. Breakfast was minimal The only reason it gets 2 circles is because it's cheap. You get what you pay for.
I arrived early afternoon, the lady at the desk was very friendly and made a conservation with me about my travel. Also made recommendations for getting a good massage. Room was very clean, bed very comfortable. No complaints
