We really liked everything about the hotel - it's location, service, comfortable bed and all the amenities in the room. We stayed there for 2 nights and can't say anything bad about it. The area, of course, is a little shaggy but it is expected from the train station. It was at the end of our 2-week trip and we were a little tired of German food, so we found a great Chinese restaurant 3 minutes away from the train station. If you face the Cathedral, the restaurant is located on your right, you just need to walk for a couple of minutes and you will see sign "Peking" right above you. They have great combo choices for less than 40 Euros for 2 people. their fried duck is to die for :) Overall, great stay. Will definitely recommend it to our friends and stay there again,.
We stayed overnight for a quick visit to Cologne. It was our first time in the city and we found the hotel to be comfortable and in the ideal location for seeing the best of Cologne. Whilst the room was small, it was perfectly comfortable and clean with everything we needed for a short stay. The hotel is just a couple of minutes walk from the cathedral which was perfect for us as we didn't have long to explore so the close proximity meant we could see what we wanted quickly and easily. Just walk through the train station opposite the hotel and you will find yourself at the bottom of the cathedral. The staff were friendly and helpful. If you need to park at the hotel there is a multi storey car park around the corner that costs €18 for 24 hours.
We stayed two nights at the Wyndham prior to taking a Rhine cruise. We took the train (very easy) from the Cologne/Bonn airport, and the Wyndham was directly across the plaza from the station, even closer than it looked on the map. The signage made it easy to locate. Staff were friendly and helpful with excellent English. We were able to check in early and our double room faced onto the station plaza but was absolutely quiet. They held our bags when we checked out before our afternoon cruise pickup. The room was excellent in size, comfortable, with good television and Wi-Fi reception, a small but spotless bathroom (shower only). There was an in-room safe, hair dryer and bathroom amenities were provided. We didn't have breakfast as there were many cheaper options available at the train station, but did check it out and it looked like a pretty standard comprehensive hotel breakfast. We would definitely recommend the Wyndham to anyone looking for reasonably-priced, convenient, comfortable and friendly accommodation. We'll be back.
Well it's not that of a new place. Internet is horrible most of the time and rooms are kind of decorated for travelers from the 80's. Including the towels that can be exchanged or the soup in the bathroom that will make your hair stiff like a rock. Though location is good and stuff is friendly. And pricing is also ok. There is a nice corner outside that you can site and watch the central station and have a drink however you shall get your own drink as the hotel is totally under staff and no one will serve you 😂 I included the old towels in the picture and the tiles left since 1980 In short this does not suit the style I was expecting when booking here just because the hotel was called Wyndham
Travelled with family group of 5. Booking staff very obliging in catering to our needs..... a double room and a triple room. Our triple room was upgraded to a suite which was nice: looked great and very spacious, but beds and seats a little on the firm side for me. The foldaway bed was very uncomfortable but management very agreeable to putting some quilts under the sheet to add some comfort. The superior double room was small with a very tiny, cramped bathroom. Have had more space in most other budget hotels we have stayed in during our trip. Breakfast gave a good choice to suit most. Good free wifi, English TV channels. Shower over bathtub difficult for people with mobility issues. My biggest complaint is that the toilet bowls were dirty around and under the rim..... not cleaned properly over a period of time.
My first time in this hotel and I found it very good: a greity location just opposite de main train sttaion; an execellent cleanliness and an high level of sleep quality. The room is silent and the staff is really kind and professional. And last but not least the rate are reasonable.
We booked this hotel in March via Booking.com and the rate clearly stated it included the City Tax in the rate. Upon check out I was told by reception it doesn't even though it was clearly shown on my booking confirmation that this was the case. It wasn't a big sum of money but I felt taken advantage of. Why would I book through booking.com and pay an all in rate only to find I have to pay for the city taxes twice?!
The hotel is just behind the central station. 5 minute walk from the catedral. The staff was helpful and the room was fine.
Nice hotel in the center of Koeln. About 200 meters from the trainstation and no sounds in the room. The Dom, museums, shops and the nice riverbank all within a 10 min. walk.
Room was nice, everything worked, safe, hair dryer, English language t.v. etc. Bed was comfortable, and very clean. Good bathroom amenities. Room wasn't large, but was ok for a short stay. Super convenient location, across from main train station in Cologne. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast buffet was a great value, and of very high quality, definitely worth getting. There are some rooms with nice views of the Cathedral, but they might be higher category rooms. I had a city view which was fine. This was a great choice in Cologne, and a great value.
