Don't expect anything more than a budget place to sleep. The rooms are old and have been remodelled since the new owners took over. But the rooms are clean. No amenities, except some hand soap and a few small packs of shampoo. So bring all your own bathroom items. No mini bar. But the rooms I stayed in had a fridge, so I shopped in the local stores for snacks and drinks. The WIFI was consistently good for all my stays here. No computer printing available at this hotel, but there are internet and printing services nearby. The hotel staff is very easy going and friendly. Check in and check out was easy. The hotel has the best location - 3 minutes to the Cologne cathedral and 7 minutes to the train station on foot. The main pedestrian walking / shopping street is 3 minutes way. If you need location and nothing else, this is your place. They do offer a paid breakfast, but there are many options outside the front door, so I stopped eating at the hotel. They only service breakfast. There is no hotel restaurant for other meals. I good choice for a night or 2.
Simple and satisfactory! This hotel hasn't been renovated in a long time I reckon. But even still, I enjoyed my stay, the beds were super comfortable and the hotel room was clean. The price was really cheap by comparison to surrounding hotels and the location is unbeatable, right down the street from the cathedral! I was really happy with it.
I would NEVER stay here nor suggest anyone to stay here! No hot water in the shower. No bath towels. Spotty WiFi that didn't work half the time. Room so tiny that the door barely opened. Bathroom filthy and leaking water from the shower. Staff that doesn't care about anything and basically ignores all the problems. Horrible! This hotel is unfit to stay, even as a one star property.
Given its location next to the cathedral, don’t expect great luxury for the budget rate you pay in this hotel. If you are not bothered with the 80s design or outdated service, this is the place to be as the room is clean and breakfast is OK. There’s airco in the room, which I did not try as my room was at the backside of the hotel & I was able to sleep with the windows open. The bells of the cathedral will wake you up early but that was the only noise I heard during my stay. Obviously this hotel does not have a parking space but there are underground parking lots nearby. Personally I prefer a more contemporary hotel to really enjoy my stay but this time I was on a budget and in that case it’s probably one of the better choices in Cologne
The hotel is in a great location with a 5 minute walk to the main station and a 2 minute walk to the cathedral and river. Room was very clean and the bathroom had a strong powershower - no issues with warm water Wifi was powerful if you could get it. Worth a stay for one night Downsides were; As it is a heavily religious town several of the churches ring their bells at 7am for 5 minutes so there is no chance of a lie in Staff were loud in the morning a few of the plug sockets were damaged
The hotell had a great location, and it had clean bed linnen and towels! Other than that it was bad! Horrible old carpets all over the place. The room was very damp, the bed was very hard, nothing in the minibar... and it was very expensive.
Well located, near the cathedral, station and other important places. It is comfortable enough, clean and practical. While I did not take the breakfast, there are many places in the area, such as the cafe by the radio station or the bakery opposite.
No frills Budget hotel around the corner from Koln Cathedral and within walking distance of Central Train Station, all in all a great location with Restaurants, bars, shops all in the vicinity. Alstadt square is also a 5 minute walk away.
The hotel is located at the very center of Cologne, literally 2-3 minute walk to the cathedral and the train station. My room was at the very top floor, where I had to use staircase after the elevator. The room was single, clean and nice. From the window I could get to the rooftop and watch magnificent Cologne Cathedral. Everything was good. The only addition I would recommend would be a fan, since in August it was extremely hot and the room did not have AC. They do collect some taxes on top of what you paid to Orbitz/Expedia, but they are around 5%. As far as I know everybody in Germany do that, so it's not the hotel's fault.
The hotel is located near the cathedral and central station. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and fitted with all essentials. Public pay parking is available within walking distance.
