The hotel was clean and comfortable. Unfortunately, the parking has a charge per night. The breakfast was pretty good, the room was a comfortable size and quite. Many pillows provided. Very close to the center of town.
We recently stayed here for a couple nights due to the easily accessible location. Although the building was older, it was well maintained and the staff were courteous. Regrettably, we were woken up very early (@ 6am the first time) by fire alarms on both mornings. This made it very difficult to get some needed rest. To make things worse, the staff didn't even offer an apology at checkout, which makes me think this probably happens often. Hope they can get their issues straightened out for any future travelers!
A very pleasant stay overall. Although an older building, it is meticulously clean. The rooms are spacious and bright; the location is perfect: far enough from the bustle and hustle of traffic and gathering places, yet minutes away from entertainment and cultural venues. All staff were attentive and responsive to any need or request made. Always with a smile. A particular word to Vicky in the Breakfast Room. Thank you Vicky for helping to make our breakfast experience enjoyable. You lit up the place with your infectious smile and quiet distinguished manner. I watched you as you moved gently from station to station to make sure your hungry guests, big and little, had all they wanted and...more. And you did it all with zest. You are a credit to the establishment.
An employee by the of Taj was so professional, welcoming and courteous. He drove the shuttle vehicles to and from the Cleveland Clinic. He stood out with his customer service skills! If you are traveling from out of town to visit the Cleveland Clinic this is a great location. The cost is reasonable and they do provide free rides to and from the clinic.
We arrived early and we were very pleased the front desk staff allowed us to check into our room because it was ready. The hotel was sold out for the night as was the Indians/Yankee game, half mile walk away. The staff was very accommodating to change our second room to the same floor, informing us "it was being cleaned and we will call you when it is ready." The cleaning wasn't completed for the second room six hours later than the same arrival and three hours after 3 o'clock check-in, an hour before the game. As has been mentioned, a small bathroom is ok, but it was more annoying that there was only a fan/light switch equaling a noisy fan or no light. The bed was very clean and comfortable. Lots of bed pillows the same. Breakfast with hot bacon and eggs, waffle machines and fresh fruit accompany the usual fresh cereals, breads, muffins and dairy. The juice dispenser delivered watered-down orange and apple juices. Plenty of seating. Parking was just under ten dollars per night, but a waiver must be signed denying their responsibility for any damages. We walked to the Great Lakes Science Center which is next door to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Always a dispenser of fresh and cold lemon water in the lobby to greet guests upon your return.
We stayed here for one night to visit the Rock and Roll hall of Fame. Its a little dated but very clean and great staff. Very good breakfast bar. room was clean and everything worked well. Lots of places to eat nearby. It has above ground and below ground parking.
When I have an early appointment at the Cleveland Clinic we stay the night before at the Comfort Inn Downtown Cleveland. Why? The staff is very friendly, the rooms are nice and always very clean, and for Cleveland Clinic patients parking is free - as is the shuttle to get you to and from the Clinic. Speaking of the shuttle, if you happen to get John Loas as your Driver you will be entertained on the way. During the roughly 15 minute ride John will give you more information than you knew you needed. He is full of knowledge about not only the Cleveland Clinic but all of Cleveland, and he's more than willing to share it. Chances are you're coming and/or going on I90 so to stop downtown is on the way, and you don't have to pay parking at the Clinic. We'll be back!
There are two hotels near the Cleveland Clinic and I thought that, even as a patient, the rates were too high. When I have to return, I will definitely stay at this hotel. We arrived in daylight andwere a little uncomfortable walking from out car to the hotel, but there is a security guard on duty watching the lot. There was a young man trying to talk to us and panhandle, but we were able to avoid him. When we checked in we were given a parking pass for our stay that belongs on the dash Not wanting to walk back alone, the desk clerk immediately informed the guard of the panhandler and he came in and escorted us back to our car to place the parking pass on the dash. He was really funny and very friendly. Like all Comfort Inns I stay at the clerks were very fast and efficient. The ice machine was out of order, but they had bags of ice available at the front desk for us. The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. Even downtown, the room was quiet and we slept well. The breakfast buffet was clean and everything wad well stocked. I would stay again.
Wanted a reasonable hotel in Downtown Cleveland....Great staff..reasonable$9.50 parking with free in and out...which is excellent for any downtown hotel. Great free breakfast with plenty of tables...not like many hotels where seating is a problem.A little far to Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Progressive Field...BUT a cheap Uber ride gets you there and gives you a chance to see the beautifully re-energized city. Great Great Deal.Stay here by all means!
A group of college friends met in Cleveland for a Cleveland Indians game. Not wanting to have to leave right after the game and drive home, we stayed at the Comfort Inn. It was very convenient because we were within walking distance to Progressive Field and to Playhouse Square which I wanted to show off to the out-of-towners. We all really enjoyed the breakfast which was included with our stay and the ladies that were taking care of refilling the various stations were very prompt and polite. Kathy (one of the ladies in charge of the breakfast) was very polite and took great care of us. She was lovely to deal with at that time in the morning.
