I'm certain that this property is great, with a family, in the summer... but if you are a solo gal traveling in the shoulder seasons, it does NOT feel safe. No interior chain locks. Nothing but a key that could be copied at the local hardware store.I slept with a chair wedged under my doorknob so I could get a good night's sleep. Very nice staff!!

Awesome resort. Helpful staff. Centrally located to great fishing spots. Good parking. Will stay again.

Considering just how locked down the San Francisco Bay Area remains, this property at this lake right now is a very good deal. Yes, you have to drive, you can't walk to the state park next door, but it's very close and they have a real swim beach (with rocks, I know, wear foot protection)--warmer and closer than Tahoe! the whole thing about pollution and algae bloom is WAY overblown. Clearlake may not be Tahoe clear but it is beautiful even in August. The fishing ? Well, I always catch something if not nearly as much as the aces on Youtube. The restaurant and main store on the pier were closed during our stay, so you were pretty much left with fast food choices 6 or 7 miles away. But the office at the hotel has bait, there are places to fish that you don't need a boat--and the room? well, to the nice side of basic I'd say. they also have BBQ grills, picnic tables, and a fish-cleaning table that are all complimentary. Only stayed one night--now that I'm back in lock down in my own neck of the woods, wish I would have stayed two nights. The people in the office and around the property are polite and helpful. Would stay at CLVR again.

The place is very run down and the lake smelled bad. The carpets were bad and I hated to be barefoot, the floor was uneven, the fridge was broken, the lights next to the bed didn’t work.

The lake smells disgusting and when we showed up, with a reservation and had already paid for the room, they didn’t have a room for us and said that we had to go somewhere else.

Great Lake location but the blue green algae is pretty stinky- it would be so nice if they could have a blower blow it out. Room phone and alarm weren’t wiped down but everything else seemed pretty clean. We will definitely come back and would like to stay in the cabins

Amazing location, view and very clean. Good food at restaurant. Check-in gal could use some customer service training.

Thank you for staying with us and for your review Shanna, I will let the owners know about the locks being less desirable for safety concerns.

Sorry you didn't enjoy your stay. We will go check all the lights and find the one you mentioned. Unfortunately there is nothing we can do about the lake, it is a natural lake and sometimes has an odor.

I am so sorry to hear this, we have just reopened and ran into some technical issues the first week, several of our reservations have not been in our system when people book online. I have let our innkeeper know about the issue so it does not happen again. Again I am so sorry about this.

Thank you for your review, we are working on getting a pump set up out there to circulate the marina which should help a lot, unfortunately our beautiful natural lake also has lots of algae. I will let housekeeping know about the phone and alarm, we are taking our cleaning procedures seriously in order to keep guests safe, and appreciate the review very much. I am glad you will be coming back to stay in the cabins, hopefully we will see you soon!
