Who must be in charge of management of this place now? I recall a nice Korean couple who had it as recently as twelve years ago, but I assume they must've been naive about the area the motel is in and the clientele it might be picking up. I stayed here twice, in late 1995 and 1997.. I liked the convenience it featured to the university nearby. My first stay in 1995, with very courteous staff, was pleasant overall, but my second stay a little less so. Beds were very comfortable both times. Upkeep of the street, alongside a technical college, going up towards Ludlow, seemed entirely satisfactory both times. I assume the property to have been built probably during the late 1960's or shortly thereafter. The room in 1995 was clean, the staff friendly and courteous, and the only thing that seemed curious is that there was a bar downstairs, but nothing about it that rang off any alarm bells. My first night in 1995 there was a loud party going on next door and I had to have my room changed to where i could get some sleep at nearly 4 AM. The third night at the end of that weekend I spotted a girl and a john exchanging money or something to indicate something was going on. I called Cincinnati police, but they hardly did anything. The door to my room did not work well, but other than that, upkeep seemed nearly as good, if not quite so decent as my first stay there. One other lodging i checked out along Central Parkway, closer to MLK, was leasing out rooms by the hour and looked dark and really dingy. It today is gone, along with a Travelodge that used to be along the same stretch of road. There is now a Rest Inn that at best I vaguely recognize by observing Google Maps. Needless to say, after reading the reviews I've consulted on several websites, this no longer seems like a safe or better than halfway sanitary place to stay, if even that. I scratch my head as to think or consider how management could still be the same today as it was some years back. I can tell that there is perhaps a need for a reasonably affordable place to stay for entering UC students, but perhaps that is lacking now. I would have laughed at you if you told me an expensive Fairfield Inn along Calhoun and a Hampton nearby on Vine near campus would one day go up, An investment in renovation and installing 24 hour security on the property may be the only hope for this property today, even if all this means a little raising of the rates to stay there. A shuttle for to and from campus might come in handy as well. As just an aside, what is the housing project that is just a block or two away supposedly? (Is there one really?).

Budget host is a decent motel for the 70$ something price tag. The parking was great and readily available and the service staff is quite friendly. However, the place definitely needs cleaning and renovation. There are weird smells and the linen made me itch a lot - probably bugs. Even the bathroom needs a lot of redoing.

Don't stay here. Nasty, very nasty. It was a mistake on my part. I booked over the phone, trusting the person who recommended with travel company. Not safe for children or adults. They kept my money, even after I cancelled. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

Title says it all in a nut shell. Drug residue throughout room, drug dealers soliciting to my husband and his friend, rude staff who offered no real assistance as I complained they had no rooms left what did I expect! We feared for our safety as the dealer tells them he has had a bad night and he's looking to party. Managers are refusing a refund even because we checked in at 6 pm, left for until 2 am, and started complaining but left at 3:30 am. Why would I stay somewhere that I didn't feel safe; even if a patrol car only went through once. Pictures show residue everywhere but managers refused to come in room to take my word for it just walked by the outside of our room to assess the situation. The only thing I got was air freshener to take the smell out of my room. Worst stay ever!!!!!!! Lesson of an $80 motel room = HELL!

Likely roughest place I've ever stayed. Beds dirty, musty smell covers room, bathroom has tile sink and shower from 1960s, wallpaper falling off wall, tv from 90s, pillows are stained, ceiling stained from leaks, walls clearly have had holes in them and just painted over..........πŸ‘ŽπŸ‘ŽπŸ‘ŽπŸ‘Ž

Just the worst case scenario for hotels. As soon as we got out of the car, the "regulars" were casing us. Drinking from paper bags. Once inside the hole...I mean room, we killed several bugs. If it had not been so late we would have left. We still should have left! Sleeping in our car was a better option. The bathroom window doesn't close. We barricaded the bathroom door and the room door shut. At 3am, screaming was heard in the parking lot. At 4am, car alarms started going off. At 5am, the hookers started to leave. Not to worry, taxi drivers were also "guests"...The so-called lounge was stuffed with baby cribs, headboards and trash and the area reeked of vomit. Once home, we left our belongings in the garage and scoured every inch of everything that was brought into the room. Or threw it away. I'm sure peeping tom cameras are in rooms/bathrooms. The cesspool-aka-swimming pool-is a toxic waste dump, even the overgrown vines die when they reach the water. Unless your in the market for hookers, drugs, bedbugs, roaches, and unknowingly starring in Budget Inn home movies, stay elsewhere.

You would be better off sleeping in your car than getting a room at this place. Bugs and filth everywere!!!! No wifi, dirty floors, dirty bathroom! Will never stay at this place again. Not a good deal for the price!

My daughter and i went there late at night because her step father had surgery that day and wasn't doing well and the hotel is close to hospital, our house is about 60 miles from hospital. First off there were guys hollering at us as soon as we got out of our car. The hotel clerk was a creep, he was attempting to flirt, he kept asking what us "pretty ladies" we're doing. After we got our key we rushed to our room because of the attention we were attracting from the hollars of the men. One guy asked us for a lighter and lit his joint in front of us. We got in our room it was dirty and smelly like someone cooked up drugs in there. The sheets were clean but stained. The walls had small holes that looked like bullet holes. We were extremely uneasy because the men standing out by our car and the clerk being a perv. We looked out the bathroom window and men were lurking by and our window lock was broke with no screen. We put a chair in front of our door. At this point we knew our safety was at risk and if it we stayed we could get robbed or worse. We got our stuff and darted for the car! The guys still triying to "holler" at us. We pulled up to the office and i asked for our money back the clerk was getting stoned with a customer and it reeked of weed and who knows what else. He refused to give us a refund and we didn't even stay an hour! By now it was after 3am and we were exhausted from being at hospital and dealing with my husband's surgery. I didn't argue with him for fear of getting bashed in the head, we just left, we lost our $70.00, we were by ourselves, now broke and slept in the hospital parking garage, which was safer than that place! Do not go there!!!!!

My boyfriend and I stayed for a night for a getaway. The heater would turn on and off every hour. There weren't any food vending machines only one vending machine that gave canned soda. Every time he went down there, was someone begging for a dollar from him. Then at 6am there was the same begging dude knocking on our room door like he was watching my boyfriend walk to it every time. No extra pillows. No bathroom light switch. We had to use one of the lamps for light. I don't recommend this hotel to anyone unless you want a knock on your door at 6am.

We booked 3 nights but only stayed one and couldn't get away fast enough in the morning! The reception area was filthy, not a good sign! On the way to our room the alarm bells started to ring, a "no soliciting" sign near our door! On entering the room i was not impressed, it smelled of damp and stale smoke, dirty carpet and a horrible bathroom with dead bugs on the floor! The only thing that was clean was the bed, although the sheets were a little damp! I hardly slept as i didn't feel safe, there were some very weird people outside, looked liked they were on drugs, it was noisy, at 3am we heard noise outside, i had to stand on a chair to see through the peephole as it's about 7 feet up, to see a gang in the car park doing strange hand shakes and stuff, and there was a party going in near us but the air conditioning was so loud we didn't hear them too much. I actually felt unsafe there and feared getting robbed, if anything had happened we were stuck as the phone in the room was dead. On reading about the shooting in the motel, the prostitution and drug dealing, and just the general state of the place we found a nice place online and decided to leave as soon as we could. On leaving we found a freshly used condom outside our door, probably thrown from one of the rooms above. Do not stay here, that place isn't safe!
