Crowne Plaza Chongqing Riverside4.0 out of 5.0

I stayed for 3 nights for a business trip in April 2017. Flawless is all I can say. Reception; speed of check-in and -out; rooms very large, clean, well-maintained, well-designed; breakfast options and food quality; the staff; everything perfect! Location is good but far from the airport (~60-80mins by taxi). Most remarkably: As an IHG Platinum member, I even enjoyed benefits at this hotel that would otherwise be given only to IHG Spire members. Thank you so much! Crowne Plaza Chongqing Riverside is better than all Crowne Plazas I've stayed at in Beijing and Shanghai. Btw, for your convenience (although I didn't make use of it) there is a large hot spring wellness/recreation facility right next to the hotel.
My friend and I stayed here in October and found it very comfortable. Very nice bathroom, spacious rooms. Location suited us fine. There are some good bars and restaurants on the riverside where the views at night are quite spectacular. The hot spring resort which adjoins the hotel was a surprisingly pleasant experience. I'd happily stay there again.
Once again, the Crowne Plaza Chongqing upped its game! A fantastic place to stay, excellent service and very fine restaurant. Room was wonderful, staff attentive and pleasant and location excellent for my business needs. My place to go and stay in Chongqing. I will be back again.
The room was large clean bathroom exellent they even have a pillow menu, the pillows on the bed were very comfy as was the bed.Breakfast was good ,better with the help of Vivian who helped with breakfast, she gave us some photo,s of Chongqing that she had taken her self.Very proud of her city. The hotel next door had hot springs what a great way to spend a relaxing few hours.Highly Recommend this hotel. We stayed at three other hotels in China this was by far the best it was also the cheapest.
We had a very comfortable 3 night stay here. The room was great, with lots of space. The breakfast and dinner buffets were outstanding: range of food, display and taste. The room, bar and restaurant were well air-conditioned but the corridors and some of the public spaces were somewhat uncomfortable. The location was convenient for the river and quiet. Attractions were easily accessible by reasonably priced taxis.
I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. Real five star hotel. Free wifi, nice western breakfast and clean area. I really suggest this to who travels to Chongqing. The hotel is on top of the hill near to river but there is not any view to river. The garden behind the hotel is very nice and what is more there is no sounds of cars and horns. Keep calm at there and enjoy your time.
The hotel is connected with a hotspring next door which are owned by the same company, hotel guest can get 20% off with the room card. The hotel room itself is a bit outdated, but still acceptable. The hotel is surrounded by residential building and not far away from the main road which is full of restuarant.
This is a nice hotel but they need to be able to turn on the air conditioning when it starts to get hot outside. We were here in March and the temps reached the upper 80's F and they wouldn't /couldn't turn it on because of "rules" the lobby air was on but the rooms didn't and it was hot. Other than that the accomdations are nice and the restaurants are ok.
We only stayed 1 night here and arrived around midnight. The Hotel is on a hillside with no view of the river from the room we had, however we did not stay here to see the river. We were here to join a cruise down the Yangtze. We were on the 5th floor and had a view of a nice garden. The room was large, clean and the bed was lovely and soft. The bathroom was clean and had a wide range of amenities with a nice bath and shower. The toilet was cute, but not sure why you would require a heated seat in a city like Chongqing, as it is not in a cold climate area. The breakfast was OK except that they precook the fried eggs and they were cold. I would assume that they would have cooked fresh ones if asked, but we did not bother. The issue we did have was the toaster that takes too long to cook without changing settings and then still not very affective; this was the case in all the hotels we stayed in during our trip in China. We found this funny considering the cost of a toaster. Check in was easy as was check out. All in all, a good hotel that we would maybe rate as a 4+ star. All the staff that we met were friendly and tried to assist where possible. We would stay here again if we go back to Chongqing
Not on the riverside as the name implies, this hotel is on a slight hill.We were on the 5th.floor nice room with a iron & ironing board which I used,as well as all the usual complimentries. The balcony was rather scruffy, not very large and without chairs, disappointing. Had a view of the pool which seemed popular although, we did not use it. The main thing I liked in the bathroom was the heated toilet seat, I want one. Breakfast was nothing special the food all seemed on the cool side.No mention of the free drink advertised on arrival either.I would not have said this was a 5* hotel. We stayed two nights here, and enjoyed Chongqing, the riverside walk is very pleasant, lit up at night.we ate in a local restaurant further up the hill from the hotel. Also used the cable car to visit the center, great views crossing the river. From Chongquing we joined a Yangtze river cruise.
