There was roaches runnimg around, bathroom shower curtain was moldy, the walls needed washed.

This place is absolutely disgusting. Incredibly dirty, reeking of smoke and animal urine. The staff is inattentive to any problems and there a zero amenities.

The property and area are run down . The lobby was full of customers, about 6, in line awaiting staff. Staff was slow and aloof. I didn't even stay there. What is most disconcerting is that when I called to cancel I was told the fee was nonrefundable , the staff was very difficult to understand due to English skills deficiency and there was TERRIBLE background noise during the call, for which the representative was unapologetic stating "It's busy here , people are trying to work." I was told I needed a Google card to get a refund of a $100 fee in addition to the room cost. I grew frustrated and hung up . I called back and was told my room fee was unrefundable but no additional fees were relevant. Not a good experience for me. Give me my money back please.

When we first pulled up, we thought it was an abandoned hotel. The outside was overgrown, there was garbage at the front of the place and only one car in the parking lot. We went in and the smell of cigarette smoke and other bad odors overwhelmed us. When we went to register, the woman kept asking for my phone number. I am still afraid they have too much information about us.The entire time, I was looking around to see if anyone was going to attack us. The place was as run down inside as outside. The carpet in the hallway looked like it hasn't seen a vacuum in a long time and never shampooed. The non-smoking room was filthy. The mirror on the wall was so cloudy, you couldn't see your reflection. There was a rusty contraption in there that I think is supposed to be some type of cooking device. We were afraid to sit our luggage anywhere for fear there would be bugs. The odor of cigarettes was so pungent in this "non-smoking" room, it made my daughter and I feel sick. The stains on the bedding and bed skirt could make a gross and disgusting biology class project. The other room has blood stains on the wall and even more stains and unidentified substances everywhere. The four of us left to find another place to stay because this place was uninhabitable. It should be shut down. I know we can't get our money back, but I definitely am going to warn others not to book anything that includes this "hotel". I am surprised you associate your business with this place.

Company will not get my service again. They were rude and didn’t make me feel welcomed

The staff was very welcoming and very friendly. The room was clean, there looked to be some dog hair on the floor but we quickly picked it up with a kleenex. The king size bed with the pillow top was sooo comfortable. The flat screen tv was a plus and all the storage for clothes and the mini microwave and fridge were greatly appreciated. Only suggestions we have is 1) more channels on the tv 2) breakfast open a little later than 9am and 3) small coffee pots in the rooms.

This was the most disgusting place I have been too. Even though paid for a week I checked out after one night. Manager promised a refund through orbitz (I have signed paper from him) but I haven't received it. Ceiling had black mold the size of a watermelon (I have COPD and my daughter asthma) that is dangerous to health. The bathroom had bugs, the towels had ugly yellow stains, it was awful. I took pictures of all of this and am still awaiting my refund. I realize it said no refunds the but manager assured me he would refund.

Bathroom was not properly cleaned and had mould at base of commode.

Let's start off with the staff, the front desk person to check us in was very rude and sarcastic and made it very clear he was annoyed by our arrival. The woman who checked us out in the morning was polite though so that was nice. They say breakfast but what they mean is dry cereal, milk if you arrive early, and old cold chocolate donuts. The towels were dirty and halls/rooms smelled like smoke. Overall I would not recommend anyone stay there for the price asked because you don't always get what you pay for(even when it's cheap).

Room was very out dated.. there are some strange smells to the place and too many of the ownership/management evident of living at the property. Breakfast was choice of stale cereal or a bagel/toast.

My Room wasn't ready even though I checked in way after my check in time. Staff was moderately helpful but never apologetic about their mistake. It's a roof above your head, not more.

The first room was dirty, stinky, the matt pad had dried blood stains all over it, they should use fitted sheet. Reserved a nonsmoking room got a smoking room. Complained to front desk they didn't understand english very well and had to explain it several times. Got a second room also smoking. The matt and pad looked newer but the tub didn't work. The walls had dark brown stains all over. People coming and going all night long in the motel very noisy.Didn't sleep very much, towels were stained when we took shower in the morn. I complained at checkout but the front desk didn't understand and said he couldn't do anything about it. He said he would have the manager call me. never happened. This was unacceptable and dissatisfied trip.

I read some pretty awful reviews about the Days Inn hotel in Waukegan, IL. Most people would rather write a bad review than a good one, so I decided to book anyway. I've stayed in budget hotels plenty of times and have seen that a hotel can still "do it right" even though it's low budget. This was not the case here. I must be fair and report that I booked two rooms, a king room for my wife and I, and a double room for my teenage brothers after we attended an outdoor music fest in Zion. The king room was fine, average, no complaints. However, there were multiple problems with the double room. When we arrived to our rooms around midnight, we noticed that the double room's door was open. That's a bit of a red flag. I noticed that the king room had a no-smoking placard on the door, but the double room did not. I requested and paid for two non-smoking rooms. So it appeared that management knew full well it wasn't what we asked for, but put us in it anyways. Keeping the door open was their futile attempt to air it out. It reeked of smoke. Neither room had the a/c turned on, and it was a 90 degree day. I can understand power saving, but perhaps someone should turn them on at some point so the guest can have a nice, cool room to come home to. It was probably in the 80s in the rooms. My wife and I blasted the a/c, and went to bed. My brothers in the double room, however, blasted their a/c to discover hot air blowing out of it. They assumed it could take a few minutes to cool down, so turned the lights off and tried to fall asleep. In the middle of the night it was still like an oven in their room, so they called the front desk to ask about a room change due to the malfunctioning a/c but were told harshly by someone with a foreign accent that it was too late to change rooms and that they should've called when they first checked in. Now like I said, it was late and we wanted to go straight to bed. They thought the unit would work after a few minutes but fell asleep. This is unacceptable to me, that they would basically get yelled at because the hotel didn't want to be disturbed to give them a room transfer. I think that their door was initially opened when we arrived because this was a reported problem in the past, and they were too cheap to fix it. In no way did keeping a door propped open cool the room, or alleviate the smoking smell. When we checked out I told the front desk person of the problem, and she treated us like we were entitled. No apology or sympathy or any offer of a refund or discount. I asked her to please record that the room had no working a/c and she just stared at me. So someone else will probably have that problem too. Good luck getting them to admit fault and move you to a different room. Staff was completely unprofessional and uncordial. The man behind the desk when we checked in didn't offer a smile, greeting or anything. Just asked for our name, my I.D., and gave us our room keys. Stay anywhere else, I'm serious. I know it's cheaper, but easily the worst hotel experience I've had.

My husband and I sent 5 days at Days Inn in Waukegan, IL for our anniversary. It was very nice and quite. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. The only issue was the continental breakfast. It would have been better if they had more choices. The fruit wasn't very fresh either. But we will be returning there in the future. I would refer a friend.

Friendly staff, clean room and hotel overall. Quick check-in. Well-lit parking lot in decent area. Good size mini fridge and microwave in room. All was satisfactory except the continental breakfast was not impressive - nothing but cereal, powdered donuts, apples & oranges and little muffins. Also coffee, tea, milk & juice, but no waffles, yogurt, hard-boiled or other type of eggs, etc. No healthy options, unfortunately. Still, for the price, we'd stay here again and supplement breakfast ourselves.

The location is a little off the beaten path. I was here for a boot camp graduation and it was a little farther than I wanted to be. Breakfast was adequate but the staff was not very friendly. I have to say the worst part was the thinness of the walls. Everytime someone shut their door around me, my bed and TV literally shook. Heard the shower kick on next door everytime they used it and other unmentionables. Much older hotel with the appearance of one.

After a long driving trip in we let the 10mth old baby crawl on the floor in the room. Approximately 20 mins later we prepared her bath. When we went to undress her we noticed her knees and the tops of her feet were black with dirt from the carpet. The hotel is a bit run down. The staff was indifferent to requests or either did not understand English. There were few guest amenities.

we attended my son graduating at the Naval Recruit Training base. The motel was only 7-10 miles from the base. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The front desk was helpful with a few additional requests of an iron and ironing board, plus additional coffee for our room. Access to internet made our location info easy.
