I would expect better from a Disney endorsed hotel. Room is very small, bathroom even smaller. If you're of average American height expect to hang off the bed and struggle in the bathroom. Site says They offer Disney shuttle, but they ONLY offer it at times of opening and closing of the park. City bus to get there is just down the road, but it was an unexpected event considering the advertised shuttle. Breakfast was okay, but not worth the $50usd for 6 people. Only plus side was the staff immediately contacted us when they found left items in our room after checkout, so thank you staff!
I am fully aware that Japan is not an English speaking country. As such, I already expect that not everyone can speak English fluently. But if a hotel located nearby Tokyo Disney Resort, I expect that hotel to have at least 1 standby staff that can speak English fluently, while the rest need to have at least rudimentary English. Unfortunately, that is not what Hotel Mystays Maihama offers. When my family and I checked in, the hotel staff asked my wife whether we wanted to have our room being cleaned up. My wife said No, because she thought that offer was for that day. But apparently, the staff meant for the whole duration of our stay (3 nights). We already expected the difference in perception, and therefore on the next morning, before we left hotel, we asked the receptionist to clean up our room (because there is no "Please Clean Up My Room" sign available in the room). The receptionist said Yes, but when we arrived in the afternoon, our room was not being cleaned up yet. Since we were exhausted, we didn't want to make such a big fuss out of it, and just let it go. On the next morning, my wife tried to explain slowly, that we want our room to be cleaned up. Again, the receptionist politely said Yes, but again, nothing being done. This time around, I tried to complain to hotel staffs, but even the person, who supposedly has the best English, didn't understand my complain. He then called Mystays Call Center, and asked me to talk through phone with that person, before finally he could understand the problem that I had. Thumbs up for the staffs' effort to fulfil our needs. But by the end of the day, it was just not enough. Mystays Maihama definitely needs improvement to avoid further lost in translation.
Loved our stay here while visiting Disney Tokyo. Rooms clean, cool and comfortable. We got a lot of use out of the massage chair in our room after hours of walking Disneyland and DisneySea. Staff were friendly. We just lacked some information that would have been useful before arrival. Such as the bus timetable from station to bus stop just outside motel. As 13min walk with luggage was not fun after a 9.5 hour flight and two train rides. They should consider putting this info on their website. Also we were not told about cheaper breakfast if ordered the night before so we opted to get breakfast from the local lawson's which was delicious, cheap and easy. They do run a shuttle bus to both disney resorts but only in the morning and late at night. So getting back earlier with tired kids can be long. 20 min walk from Disneyland but only 8 min from DisneySea. Again the bus timetable to station would have been handy had we known about it. Now you know about tje bus and breakfast this is the perfect place to stay on a budget.
We stayed at this hotel with a 7 year old and a 2 year old toddler. We came from Tokyo and wanted to stay overnight close to Disney so my older child and I can stay all day long at the park while my toddler and mom relax at the hotel whenever they feel like it. I rate this 5* because I got a very good rate. Room was clean and had everything we needed. Wifi was good. I love that they have free coffee at the lobby and drinks vending machine that include beer and Chu-hi. Staff were friendly and professional but this is Japan so that's normal. We didn't get the bfast buffet because we don't eat much and all I really needed was coffee which was free. Instead, we bought bfast food the night before from Lawson convenience store couple blocks away from the hotel. The location was great! Easy walk even for my 7 year old. And of course my toddler was in her stroller. This is a budget hotel so don't expect high end rooms and facility. Overall, I am very happy with my stay. Looking forward to stay here again with the family.
super little hotel thats needs a bit of tlc dont expect the gramd Hyatt.. great location 10 mins walk to disney sea , foot massager in the room phwoarr and ofcourse a magical japanese toilet heated seat and all.. good service and shuttle run to station and disneyland , friendly staff would stay again no problem
Great Location: 1. 10-15 minute walk to Disney Sea and the airport shuttle. 2. 15-20 minute walk to the train station. 3. 5 minute walk to Lawson convenience store. Hotel Room: 1. Carpet needs to be replaced. 2. Massage chair is outdated. 3. Bathroom needs to be remodeled.
My partner and I stayed here for three nights at the very start of our trip to Japan. We arrived around midday after 24 hours in transit. The staff don't speak a lot of English but were happy to let us check in early... for a price (¥1000). This was much appreciated as we could shower and head straight to Disneyland, which is about a 20 minute walk away (they only run the shuttle in the morning). Whilst checking in we made a decision we'd come to regret greatly... we paid for 3 days of the breakfast 'buffet'. This was by far the worst element of the stay. Really the only negative, but a big negative. For ¥1100 each daily we chocked down the limited stone cold selection of sausages, eggs and baked goods. Seriously, everyday the food was stone cold! They need new bain-maries. STAT. Whilst the breads were tasty and fresh, I definitely recommend you just stock up on yoghurt and breads from the supermarket at IKSPIARI (the shopping mall close to Maihama Station) and skip this horror of a buffet. Back to positives though. The lobby features a free microwave (for heating your convenience store finds), ice and coffee machines, and the rooms have a foot massager which is a godsend after days in lines at Disney! Overall it's a budget friendly option for your Disney fun... just BYO breakky!
Nice location, just a couple blocks away from Disney Sea. And if you packed light, it's only a 15 min walk from Maihama Station. However, if you're with children, it WILL be a long and torturous walk. If you're with kids -- which is highly likely -- since why would you book a stay at a hotel near disney, then you may want to take a cab (~700+ yen) from Maihama station. Hotel staff is very helpful and accommodating. English is so-so, so you may want to brush up on a couple of useful phrases such as -- I would like to ride the shuttle to disney. Room comes with a foot massager machine! Quite handy after standing in line for hours upon hours upon hours in disney. Hotel provides a decent buffet. NOTE that the buffet is not included in the room fees. You'll have to pay for it. If you pay for the buffet the night before, you'll get a discount. The hotel offers shuttle service to maihama station, disneyland and disneysea (in that order). NOTICE that the disneysea is the last stop. SO it's much faster if you'd just walk to disneysea. Overall a pleasant stay.
We stayed here for a few nights during our trip in order to be close to Tokyo Disney. This place was great for that purpose. The room was comfortable and we were walking distance from the park. An extra little bonus was being able to see the fireworks from our window. The beds/bedding were comfortable. It was quite a large room by Japanese standards, which was unexpected and welcomed. The bathroom was also large and stocked well. Downstairs in the lobby there was a microwave for guests to use. The staff members were very nice, and professional. Really I only had one complaint - there were no power outlets near the beds, only on the opposite wall. I like to have my laptop and phone plugged in next to my bed, so this bothered me, but I'm sure to most people it wouldn't be an issue. Overall we enjoyed our stay and loved our morning walks to the parks from our room. We would definitely stay here again.
My family of 3 enjoyed our stay at the hotel. It was small but cozy. Disneyland was 5 mins away by shuttle bus. DisneySea was 10 mins away by foot. The shuttle bus also stops at Maihama Station. Great value for money for a hotel so close to the 2 Disney parks.
