This was my first stay in Thailand and was absolutely enjoyable from this amazing hotel. The location was perfect for my family to enjoy old town and the night bazar in easy walking distance (literally steps from the night bazar) with plenty of amazing eats right outside. The breakfast included was an amazing buffet that we all enjoyed (including my 12 year old daughter). Perfect place and I would definitely stay here if in Chiang Mai again.
Clean room, staff polite and very eager to please the guests, breakfast quite ample. Location is good if you like the night markets. Loh Kroh road is nearby - red light area - with the usual pubs, restaurants and massage centres. Daytime relatively quiet. Room tariff quite high during peak period.
I enjoyed my stay here, but beware the 70's vibe. It was a good option for a quick business. Did not really appreciate the personal attention of their club level, since check in and check out was exceedingly slow compared to the normal desk on the lobby level. It was a quick trip, so did not spend much time enjoying the facilities. All that said, it was a very good option at the 3 to 4-star level. Clean and comfortable, with some basic amenities.
Only stayed here for 2 days ,any longer and would have seemed cramped . Small room sizes quite low height . Pool area tiny around 20 persons and area full Reasonable breakfast service and choice ,staff however very obliging. Rooms clean and presentable beds somewhat hard.
We are 3 nights in Chiang Mai. We booked the Dusitd2 hotel. Very very beautiful hotel. Very clean hotel. The hotel offer spa, swimming pool. The staff is very friendly and helpful. If you are in Chiang Mai book it, the prices are not expensive.
Very nice hotel. Great service from efficient hotel staff, delightful service, professional with a touch of Thai. Good location in Chiang Mai night bazaar. a very short walk to the restaurants shops and attraction. Dinner at Moxie the dusitD2's signature restaurant was fabulous, delicious dish and outstanding service. Studio suite is nice clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good. and again hotel staff was extremely kind and helpful.
we loved this hotel for it's location, bar, breakfast and service. it's very chic on the inside. the staff is very helpful. the spa is great. it is in a perfect location for walking to every restaurant, spa, night market and pretty much anything else you want. the one negative was the music at the pool. it was too loud and it was not relaxing at all. it was bad hip hop that i think they think americans and europeans want to hear. i'm not sure, but it didn't go with the rest of the hotel. it was nice to come back late to the hotel and get a drink before going to bed at their bar. they were all very accomodating and i would stay here if i hopefully go back to chiang mai. i love the little gift in the room everyday. very thoughtful. be very very careful getting in and out of the tub. the wall is extremely high and the water seems to get out of the shower easily and onto the floor.
I spent 3 nights at the Dusit D2 and I loved everything about it: 1- The room was a decent size and comfortable; 2- The staff was incredibly friendly: they invested a great deal of time in helping me plan the perfect itinerary for me, including finding cooking classes or Muay Thai classes; 3- The breakfast had an ample selection of options in both Western and Asian foods; 4- The location was located only 15-20 minutes from the old town, and just a few meters from the night market: I never felt isolated and restaurants, ATMs, 7-11 and more were always around. I was really happy here and I would gladly return here.
Selected this hotel based on the good TA reviews and no regrets. Although the surrounding area might look quite deserted if you check in during the day, it becomes alive after 5pm with the night bazaar just 100m from the hotel. For meals there are many local food courts in the same area but you have to walk away from the main street. However we found the quality to be average and pricey - definitely for tourists. The room was cozy, clean and well maintained but the shades that hide the shower from the room were useless. For those of you who are shy you may have a problem. Service was otherwise good from check in to check out, and the concierge was more than helpful. I found it strange though that we had to ask for local tourist maps and none were offered from the airport to hotel. We had breakfast on day 1 - it was OK but largely unchanged everyday we were there. Food was also lukewarm so we wondered out for local delights from day 2. Some tips - walk to Warorot Market for lots of local and cheap food, both day and night. In the evenings there is also an active street market with less touristy things. For their famous dish - the Khao Soi, try a nearby alternative located at the Muslim Street. Its open early in the morning and rated one of the better ones online. For a wide range of Thai street food, we found it at the basement of Maya Mall, a short 15 minute ride away. Good place to try everything in a clean air condition and modern environment. A day trip to Chiang Rai and the Golden Triangle was interesting but the 4-hour road trip was tough, The local tour vans are quite aggressive so dont sit in front. A must do is the visit to the elephant sanctuary park in Baantong. Many tourists are turned off by elephants which are trained in unpleasant ways by the sanctuary was for rescued elephants. There were a great experience for the family, and less than an hour ride away. There are basically no tourists in the hotel area during the day as everyone seems to have embarked on trips from 7am, but It comes alive in the evenings. I will stay here again if I come back.
A very good hotel in a fantastic location for access to the night market and the chinese market. Lots of good food option around for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The hotel concierge team are very helpful with booking of tours, spa and recommending food option.
