This hotel was a pleasure to stay at, ample parking, great service, fantastic room! We stayed 2 days and nights, and will definitely be staying there again! Even the pool was great, very few people seem to use it. Didn't use the exercise room but did check it out, clean & plenty of equipment.
The hotel is right on the lake. The room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast is a nice service but takes awhile because it is restaurant style.
Comfortable beds, beautiful view, delicious breakfast! Did not appreciate the alarm going off at 6 a.m.. We left a polite note for staff about that. And a minor, but annoying, issue with flies in our room.
Nice stay for one night, we had to get up too early so can not tell you about the breakfast
People working there were very Friendly, fast and easy check in. Great little restaurant, with good prices. Room were very clean, and comfortable. Only complaints are, TV's are so old very hard to watch, Hot tub was barely warmer than the pool. need more chairs out in pool area. Overall very nice stay. Was Great to have a hotel not charge you a 2 night stay over apple Fest weekend. Would stay there again.
Friendly at check in. Good breakfast and very inexpensive for guests of hotel. Beautiful view. comfortable bed. My only complaint it the hot tub was not hot.
We had poolside/lakeside and the room was clean and the hottub was wonderful following a 5 1/2 hour boat ride around the Islands. Staff was not particularly friendly and the only ice machine was a distance away. It was quiet and there was a restaurant and bar in the parkinglot. food was good and staff in bar were friendly. All in all a good trip.
Hotel is very pricey for the location and ambiance without breakfast!. But rooms are spacious and good. Staff is good. When you call hotel they may say no vacancy or something, so better talk to their managers , they will give correct info. Also booking via o r b i t z or p ri c e l i n e or e x p e d i a is cheaper than booking directly calling hotel. Breakfast is superb! Though we have to pay for it !
Very nice room and a good amont of space, pool and hot tub and a couple of pieces of fitness equipment and a restraunt(across parking lot) on same property. Back rooms have a great view of the bay. Lodge is just a couple minutes out of Ashland. Will stay again when we are visiting the area.
I stayed for 2 nights. The location was right on Lake Superior, and I had a room with a lake view. The room was comfortable but nothing special, the staff was very helpful. A plus is the BART bus that picks up for Big Top Chautauqua.
I have stayed in two of the better rooms at this hotel recently. This hotel is certainly worthy of a 3-star rating. Of course, in the summer the rates are rather high for the quality. The view of the bay is very nice. Breakfast is not free, but many of the breakfast items are quite good and the price is very low.
Stsff was friendly. Room could have used a thorough cleaning---- pull nightstand out from wall and vacuum for example. Location was perfect for us as we were headed west and if is located on the west side of Ashland. Would stay there again
The hotel has a nice design and feel to it. It has beautiful views over Lake Michigan and nice, rustic design touches. Pool is not large, but large enough to actually swim in. Room was clean and well-maintained. Not sure why this is only a 2-star hotel, but it certainly compares favorably with 3-star ones. A little pricey for the area, but still a good value.
This lodge in Ashland has a beautiful rustic exterior, a helpful staff, and was a wonderful place for us to retreat on a rainy day.
Staff were friendly and the room was clean. Our room included a mini frig and microwave which were not listed on website for this hotel. That would have been nice to know ahead of time for bringing some of our snacks from home. Our room opened directly to the outside (rather than an inner hallway) which was great as we had brought our dog, so easy access to get him out. The pool heater was not working, but it didn't stop kids from going it. The hot tub was great, although small. Famous brand coffee located in the coffee shop to make fancy drinks along with made to order breakfast. The best part for us was the restaurant affiliated with the hotel but unattached. A fast, cold walk across the parking lot got us in to see a Blues trio that was playing which we enjoyed-way better than the hockey game on TV which wasn't playing in the bar.
Really sharp looking hotel. Big pool area and really close to town.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food at the cafe in the Hotel was very good. I would recommend the hotel for the friendliness of staff and the good food. The view of Lake Superior was beautiful even in the winter. I could only imagine in the summer.
good room and nice pool and jacuzzi check in was a bit rough. Keys didn't work then advised to try restaurant next door, but it is only open on weekends and this was not a weekend.
It was about what we expected--not to grand, but nice, just the same. The pool and hot tub was nice to come to after our 8 mile hike at the Ice Caves on Lake Superior. Rooms are nice enough and you have all you need. The staff was very helpful. It's a small city hotel with a bit of country flavor and "up-north" hospitality.
This was a cute hotel, older but has been updated. Very nice rustic feel, great view of the lake. Some of the rooms are outside, so if you don't want to make the trip outside to get to the pool make sure you stay pool side. I would defiantly stay hear again, it was cute and a great price!
