We were there for Labor Day weekend, restaurant was closed Sunday and Monday. The staff was great, Trenton did a good job with recommendations on alternative places to eat.

Beautiful historic building right on Lake Superior. Very nice outdoor deck area that guests can use (although some of the area was reserved for a wedding the night we were there). Charming lounge with Victorian furnishings, and other little historical details. Room a bit small, but clean, and only one shared bedside table between the two beds - tough for phone charging/alarm/etc. We had a nice stay, though, and staff were friendly and helpful. Also, I have never seen so many spiders as I found immediately outside our two lakeside windows. Easily hundreds of them visible outside the two small windows. Personally this was not a huge issue - my family and I are not especially spider-averse, and they were merely outside around the window, with no access to getting inside, but it was sort of shocking.

Charming hotel. Bathroom design is ok

Really nice free breakfast, only bad thing was hot tub wasn't working. Staff was great!

We were across from the ice machine on the 2nd floor. It was VERY noisy. Not from guests getting ice, just the machine. Maybe add a door?

Great location but hotel needs updating. Other than the carpet, most other room features need to be replaced as they are worn and looking very tired.

Our room didn’t have a shower curtain, it was forgotten when they cleaned and I had to ask for one. When brought it to me, they first just handed it to me to hang myself until I requested they do it. They still have the tiny shampoo & conditioner bottles which run out quickly with a family rather than the wall dispensers other hotels have changed to. They did not receive some common TV channels. It was nice to have a fridge and microwave.

We stayed here for our wedding night and the hotel knew this. But I was called several times to ask if we were still staying here or they were going to cancel our reservation. It was our wedding night so they knew we were not going to be in till late. I was hoping with such a prestigious hotel that we would get something to commemorate our wedding night stay but no, it was as if it were just another hotel. The room was spacious, the view was nice, but staff were kind of flat, nice but flat.

A very nice old fancy hotel , good place , I would come back

Ok hotel for he age of it. Breakfast wasn’t the best although there was quite a large selection. Price was very high for the quality overall.

Was very happy this was our home base for visiting Bayfield and the Apostle Islands. The restaurant and bar were excellent. The food was great and our waitress and bartenders were even better. Very nice views.

Beautiful views, perfect downtown location, friendly staff.

With the Covid 19 virus pandemic the staff was very professional and responsible in their CDC safety practices. My travel was necessary and I am glad that their usual services are shut down.

Beautiful place! Very Clean, Rooms were great! Very Friendly Staff and the Chequamegon Grill was Amazing! Very Refreshing!

I hope you enjoyed your weekend getaway. I am glad that staff was able to help you find a few good places to dine during your visit. I’m grateful for guests like you that understand being open seven days a week isn’t always possible. Thank you

Thanks for your feedback. I am especially pleased with your assessment of the building and guestrooms being comfortable. I am however sorry for the insects and spiders that are attracted to the lights of the hotel. It is a constant struggle being close to the water. The exterior under girls are pressure washed cleaning in the fall and spring, to keep up but some years are worse than others despite this and spraying treatments. Thank for your understanding.

So sorry for the oversight with your shower curtain and that staff didn't offer to hang it for you...that's a little embarrassing. I will certainly take into consideration the use of large scale, refillable bathroom amenities. Thanks for the ideas.

Sorry you were disappointed. I believe the reason you were called is that some of the guest rooms were still in your name and some of the guests did not end up staying. Yours was the only number we had to call. Sorry for the bother. Aside from that, we hope your wedding weekend was magical. Congrats!
