Cottage #12. POSITIVE. Spacious homey feeling. Bedroom windows could be fully opened for air flow for sleeping. TV picture was excellent. Excellent location to Bayfield and Madeline Island. Complimentary ice cream was delicious. Bedding and mattresses were excellent quality. Kitchen table was great for card playing and breakfast. Check-in/check-out was extremely easy. NEGATIVE. 3” floor elevations between rooms was sometimes challenging; different levels. A/C was not available. Promised DVD player was missing. Could have used a small table in bathroom for toiletries. Only one fan for the entire cottage. Only one bedroom table lamp.

Convenient for visiting Family. Outside property well maintained. Homemade ice cream in freezer a treat. Beach area fun. Cabin 12 showed a lot of signs of wear and tear and could use sprucing up. Upon arrival the bathtub appeared very old/not clean and water failed to drain well and over the days got worse. Notified manager and she had a plumber come immediately who worked hard to clean out a very bad blockage. Last evening of 6 day stay went to use oven for baking and although gas burners worked, oven Did Not. For the price paid we strongly feel these issues should not have occurred had owners/housekeepers checked and reported problems

Cabin with views

Nice small family resort. Cottage had plenty of space. It was well supplied and everything worked. Local ice cream was a nice touch. Good location and nice views. Just don’t expect many amenities or a refined, modern experience.

A great little cottage had all we needed and was so restful under the oaks we wanted to stay longer. Much appreciated the air conditioning for it was unseasonably hot. Beach was much smaller than anticipated and hard on old knees rather inaccessible but worth the sunrise view! The beds were fine. The owner went out of her way to keep us informed and was very kind and thoughtful. Would recommend to anyone going to the area.

Such a cute little cabin, everything was very clean and we had more than we needed for our stay. Owners were very easy to communicate with and so helpful, beds were very comfortable and internet was very fast. The water at the private beach is so clear as well. From the time of booking Katie had reached out to let us know exactly where we would be going when we arrived and made our entire stay so enjoyable! She recommended we try to catch the mind blowing Northern Lights and had her sister deliver the most delicious “welcome ice cream”! They recommended some hikes we had not done other times in the area as well! The cottage was clean, comfortable, quiet, had everything you would need including firewood and in a great location!! The address is Ashland and it is minutes from the business district in the best possible way - it felt more like remote, lakefront and miles from everything because it was so peaceful but also near some of our favorite restaurants. I highly recommend this property and will be back!

Cabin 5 is great!

We stayed 2 nights in Cabin 5. This is a very modern little cabin for 2. Very clean!! Wall mounted heater/ac unit kept us warm. There's a neat electric fireplace that you can choose orange, blue, or both colors flames. Full size kitchen with anything you need to cook, plus the owners leave a delicious local ice cream in the freezer (ours was chocolate mint). Overhead lights were extremely bright so we couldn't use them as they hurt our eyes. This cabin does not have a tub but the shower is nice. Nice toiletries and soft towels. We were bummed that we couldn't have a fire as there was no kindling or even newspaper to start one (and the provided wood was wet) however, the cabin was so nice so we definitely want to come back in a warmer month. We never saw the owners, you check in and out via text or phone call. Very quiet here! Cute tiny beach down some rustic steps. Nothing open in Bayfield in November so you need to go to Ashland for food and things to do.
