Cheap flights to Belize

Belize is the only Central American country with English as its first language – so it’s ideal for those of us who still struggle with Spanish. But, this beautiful country, nestled between Mexico and Guatemala, offers a lot more reasons to visit than this. There’s the laid-back charm of the locals, the lush rainforests fringed by eco-friendly resorts, tropical beaches offering access to spectacular dive sites and a clutch of mysterious Mayan ruins providing a historical perspective.

US travelers booking flights to Belize will likely have to transfer planes in one of the closer cities such as Houston or Miami. Belize has its own local airlines, so travelers needing a transfer will likely be placed on a local charter Belize flight.

When to book flights to Belize

As with all things, Belize likes to keep its weather nice and easy. In terms of temperatures things are much hotter on the coast – with an average of 81oF – and noticeably cooler if you are in the hills – averaging with an average temperature of 69oF.

The temperate climate here has just two distinct seasons. The rainy season lasts from June to November. During this time rainfall averages 60 inches in the north, but you’ll find 160 inches of water descending heavily from the heavens in the south. This is when the cheapest flights can be found – and often tour and accommodation rates drop significantly as well. The dry season is understandably peak season in Belize. It stretches from November to May. Book your tickets early for the best chance of a cheaper flight.

How to find the best flight deals to Belize

The vast majority of US flights will involve a transfer at a nearby city, such as Houston or Miami. From here a local charter Belize flight will complete your journey.
