Water is not really swimmable fronting the property but that is the case with all San Pedro properties on this side.

Our vacation was wonderful. The resort made us feel like royalty! The view is incredible! They have a beautiful pool and the dock access to the ocean has hammocks where you can sit in the breeze. The restaurants across the street have delicious food and many other delicious restaurants and the Secret Beach are a short golf cart ride away. Be aware that the surrounding area is still recovering from hurricane damage and that all the resort beaches (except Secret Beach) have seaweed that make the docks necessary to access the water.

Staff is great all around. Very fast, friendly and accommodating. Original room was 3D. An ocean view upper level suite. Everything seemed very run down. AC weak, bed small, sheets thin. After one night we needed a change. Front desk found us a pool view upper level suite, 7B. Everything was a bit updated. King bed too! They added a large standing fan. It was a downgrade, but definitely an upgrade in my opinion. Walls are thin, but AC and fan created white noise, so not a problem. The pool is great, the Dive shop on the dock was helpful. Used kayaks the snorkel near the reef. Snorkeling was fun. Saw many fish and an eagle ray. Love the location north of town. Make sure you rent a golf cart though. It is fun to explore the island on your own. An added bonus is that the resirt has people at BZE Airport and Maya Air terminal in San Pedro to make sure you are taken care of. They were able to quickly get us on an earlier flight to San Pedro that saved us 2 hours. No regrets staying here and would do it again. Just make sure you ask about your options if a room isn't what you like.

The staff were friendly and efficient. The grounds were beautiful. Loved the pool and swim up bar. The restaurants across the street were well priced and the food was very good. The accommodations were very clean and provided everything that we needed. Very happy with our stay and will definitely stay there again!

The pool and hot tub was so nice. The swim up bar was amazing and the bartender Johnathan was awesome. Grounds a beautiful and everyone was very accommodating. Definitely will come back.

The place was really nice. Great resort and really nice and helpful staff that went above and beyond to help make our stay wonderful. They helped us book tours, a massage and even dinner reservations at restaurants in town. My only complaint is that the wifi was REALLY bad. In our room, which is supposed to have free wifi, I could not load anything. Other than that, a great place to stay!!!

Belizean Shores did not disappoint. The location was perfect— close to town but out of all of the “hustle”. The staff were extremely kind, professional, and helpful. The unit itself was very clean and suited our needs well with the kitchen included. There are great dinner options right across the lane (including the Tipsy Lobster and D’Local Taste). There was a small grocery store a short walk down the lane where we bought things to stock our kitchen (highly recommend the smoked bacon). Tuff E Nuff tours as well as the regional water taxi dock right off the shoreline in front of belizean shores, making excursions very convenient and more affordable. They had golf cart rentals onsite which allowed us to go to the Secret Beach for the day. This place is very family friendly with a beautiful pool, basketball half court, tennis court, and ping pong tables outside. I cannot recommend this place enough. We had an amazing stay. When we come back to Ambergris Caye in the future, we know where we will be staying.

After a few hiccups regarding rooms available on orbits and upgrade price it appeared every thing to work out prior to our arrival. With no guarantee the hotel told us we could check in early if room was available . We got there very early and indeed they let us check in. Its not easy ragging luggage through the sandy property from parking lot to ocean front but staff does offer their help. Its also quite a haul from golf cart lot to room. Again not complaining just pointing out the worst. The best...The nice young man with blue eyes in the office. Super wow when he remembered I wanted to see alligators and had a personal experience he excitedly told me about a few days later. Really made it feel personal. The beach, while not as pristine as you may desire, no fault of resort, they do a better than normal keeping it stink free. If you walk up the beach you will appreciate the beach in front of it. The location. You definitely want a golf cart to experience San Pedro and the northern island, secret beach etc. So with that said this place is basically close enough to the secluded areas in the north and close to the shops and food in San Pedro. We wound up going to SP once a day. And the bridge tended to accept the same ticket day after day. But if you go to much farther north you are way more limited food etc, too far south I personally would not feel entirely safe as I did here. A location just south also fine but I recommend these two just for location not knowing C.M.s

Great staff, but no useable beach. No activities and restaurant a bit pricey. I’d stay again but only a few days instead of a week. Resort is not bad; the island just lacks things to do.

Excellent location out of the hustle of town but close enough to get there on a golf cart. Close to restaurants and secret beach. Very friendly and helpful staff and beautiful view from our room.

A group of 12 of us stayed here for a bachelor party. The resort was very accommodating to our needs and more than helpful in planning excursions, renting golf carts, and getting back/forth to San Pedro city from/to our flights. The pool atmosphere was great with onsite bar! The restaurant at the resort had good food, slightly over priced and slow service at times, but we understood with our party size that it would be difficult. Overall, great!

We stayed here for two days, resort has a lot to offer such as bicycles and golf carts rental. Staffs were very professional and helpful. They helped us to book an incredible snorkeling trip. I didn't like the bathroom since it seems to have an moldy odor, and there is absolutely no water pressure.

Pleasant hotel, beautiful pool although not meant for swimming, friendly staff. The place is unpretentious, has all the basics you need.

This was our second time staying here. In the past we could use the the pool and bar at the sister resort( Coco Beach) but the bar tender at Coco Beach told us different. He told us that we could only use the bar and restaurant, not the pool. This was the main reason we stayed at the Shores. We used the bar at Coco Beach and the restaurant so guess what? We used the pool too!!!! The staff at the Shores was very friendly except for the bartender, and the drinks at the Shores were horrible. We rented a golf cart for the week through the Shores and definitely worth it ( 6 days $297). We have also used the Tuff Enuff tours for all of our excursion's as we have done for all of our stays in Belize. The staff at Tuff Enuff Has lost their Mojo!!!! Billy at Tuff Enuff has been there FOREVER and was very enthusiastic, out going and friendly. The others staff acted as if they didn't like their jobs and we were a nuisance. Tuff Enuff Tours have great tours just need friendlier staff.

This is a good location from town. It is far enough away to be outside of the chaos and clutter but close enough to restaurants and beaches. The resort is well taken care of.

Great hotel. Very quiet. Lots of thing to do right from the resort. It's further up from San Pedro so it's a bit of a trek to town but they have golf carts and bikes to get to town. Only downside was everyone seemed to go to bed at 8pm, but there are some other hotel bars near by they had a bit more going on.

I think the one thing that stood out for me at Belizean Shores Resort was how helpful the staff was. Everything was painless, from getting to the resort, making plans, and accessing other areas on the island. The Tuff E Nuff crew that worked at the dock did a wonderful job with all of the activity options available. They were all great people, and knowledgeable about the everything there is to do there. My only complaints would be the WiFi was spotty in places and the water in the shower didn't get very hot.

Resort was great, personnel were great. Rented golf cart was a must for us. Went to San Pedro town for food etc. Food and drink were ridiculously expensive at most beachfront bars and restaurants. Been to third world and to major resort areas. The prices here made us glad to have condo so we could cook, which ads work. But we went fishing and got to cook it ourselves. Off the beaten track the street food was cheap and fantastic. Do That.

Belizean Shores was the perfect spot For a little seclusion yet easy access to San Pedro. The atmosphere was very relaxed and the friendly staff made it feel like you were among friends. Thanks to Jose who handled all questions and comments in stride. What an expert! The Tuff e Nuff staff at the tour center was great and made all excursions top notch. I cried to come home.

Thanks for sharing your review. The shoreline of Ambergris Caye was inundated with Sargasso seagrass that washed in from the sea- this is a natural process that cannot be predicted and that we do not have control over. Our team works daily to keep our beachfront and grounds clean. As you mention, this is not unique to our resort but it is present on the reef side of the island. Secret Beach on the lee side of the island is a great option for enjoying the beach and swimming in the sea as there is no sargassum. Our pool is also available for swimming and sunbathing. Thanks again for choosing Belizean Shores Resort!

Thanks for sharing your review! We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay and that our resort had everything you needed. The sargassum seaweed is a natural occurrence that we can not control, we have a team working daily to remove what does come to shore in order to keep our beachfront as clean as possible. As you mentioned, our newly renovated dock is a great way to enjoy the sea, and Secret Beach is on the lee side of the island where there is no sargassum. Thanks again for choosing Belizean Shores Resort, we hope to host you again in the future!.

Thanks for choosing Belizean Shores Resort! We are happy to know that you enjoyed your stay with us and that our helpful staff helped to make you feel at home. The Wi-Fi available on the island is also not something that we have control over, and connectivity throughout Belize may be different than what is available in North America. We are committed to bringing the best that is available to our guests. Thanks again for taking the time to share your review with us!

Thanks for taking the time to share your review with us. We are sorry to read that your expectations for an Ambergris Caye vacation were not met. The biggest draw to visit Belize is our Barrier Reef, which is second in size only to the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. The reef is very close to the shore of our island, less than a mile, and the resulting geology dictates our shoreline. While we don't have the wide sandy beaches that you might find in Cancun, the water is calm, clear and very shallow. The reef is teeming with life and there are many watersports available to enjoy. We do offer bicycles, complimentary SUP boards, and kayaks.
