The worst customer service experience ever, front desk was rude, disrespectful and unwilling to fix an error on hotels part. Unapologetic, I was blatently lied to, she was more interested in her boyfriend at the front desk, instead of handling my issues. I asked for manger and general manager and was told no one was available. I was charged for 2 rooms, one night for one room and two nights for the other. Let a stuff in the room, went to attend my service, came back couldnt get in room. Was told it was only for one night, even after showing them the charges, she couldn't and wouldn't listen. Had to pay for an additional night to get my belongings. This is unacceptable Lashona Cannie, your name was given as GM, I asked the young lady to call you and she stated she would. I only gave this a rating, because I had to in order to post this. The rating should be 0.

The bi-level 2 king bed corner suite that we had was roomy and clean. The appliances are dated but that didn't affect us and our family as we only needed to stay for one night. The beds and pillows were comfy. The shower pressure was awesome and the bathroom was very clean. The staff was excellent at both check in and check out. We missed the evening happy hour but did stop in for breakfast before we headed out early in the morning around 7:00am. The hotel had a buffet of eggs, sausage, fruit, waffles, oatmeal, grits, cereal, hot coffee and to my pleasant surprise, iced coffee! We will definitely stay here again if we are in Charlotte, NC.

This hotel is not up to the level I expect at a Marriott property. I frequent Marriott properties across the country and stay at all the brands. This hotel was one of the worst. We checked in late for a 2 night stay after driving almost 7 hours. We were looking for a quick dinner and to go to sleep. This is an older property, which I don’t mind if we’ll kept. This hotel was not. Upon entering the room from the parking lot, we saw a sofa with holes in the material, stains on the duvet and curtains and a musty smell. Then after checking out the bathroom we saw someone else’s hair on the floor, in the bathtub, and on the tile surround. We could deal with the holes and stains, but not the dirty bathroom. We called the front desk and asked for the room to be recleaned or to be relocated. We were told that the hotel does not have 24 hour housekeeping to clean the bathroom and the hotel was sold out so they could not move us. They told us to go to dinner and they would fix the situation and call us with the solution. We did not get a call. Upon returning more than 2 hours later the bathroom was not cleaned and they would not move us. The night manager apologized and compensated us for half of the room cost but did nothing to rectify the situation, not even bringing over cleaning supplies so we could clean the room ourselves. After that we decided to switch hotels the next morning. As for the breakfast they offer, we got there more than an hour before it ended and they were out of everything. No eggs, meat, bread, bagels, muffins, danish, etc. Also, the tables were all dirty. Needless to say we won’t ever return to this property. If you have the choice and like the features of a Residence Inn, stay at the one in Southpark or the Charlotte airport location.

Had the opportunity to stay at this hotel again for a trip out of CLT. The staff from the front desk to the housekeeping group to the shuttle drivers are nothing short of the best. Staff is attune to the needs of the guests and the shuttle drivers understand the need for urgency to get to and from the destinations. Henry manages a fabulous team! Thanks to Henry and team for another great stay.

How this place continues to operate with the Marriott name is startling. Someone from Marriott International needs to take a closer look. I am a 25-year Marriott Rewards (upper-tier) member with significant experience in Residence Inns. This property is definitely in the RI "worst of the worst" category. Though the sheets and towels appeared clean, the room overall was filthy. Very (VERY) dated furnishings and decor...straight out of 1980. Kitchen and bathroom floors were dirty, kitchen cabinets had a greasy, sticky feel to them, carpets were not thoroughly vacuumed and some of the dishes were not clean. Also, tub floor, even though it had been cleaned, appeared as it had not from knicks, scratches and permanent residue. Kitchen sink is the size of a bar sink (can hardly fit a pot in it). The appliances in the kitchen were 3 different colors and the microwave was free-standing on the counter top. The stove looked like it came from the set of the Andy Griffith show. All electrical outlets were behind furniture, meaning none are available on desktops or bedside tables. Wallpaper peeling in spots. Hallways are also dated and drab. Every single door in the hallway was filthy (I didn't even want to push mine open with my foot). Also, many of the guests this place seems to attract..... I'll just say I'd likely have been better off staying somewhere where they'd 'leave a light on for me.'

Not in downtown craziness, but less than 15 minutes away. Very nice and super clean. Last time I stayed there was nothing close by to eat that was really good, but now there is a Chipotle, Starbucks and Panea in front of the hotel - which is nice. The staff is very nice and always willing to help with questions etc. I would definitely stay again. Rooms are very nice as well. Residence Inn's can be hit/miss, this one is definitely a HIT.

I travelled in and out of the Residence Inn South at I-77/Tyvola Rd for about a total of 4 weeks. 1 week in September, and 3 Weeks this month, and I had a beautiful stay. The Staff starting with BeBe, Megan, Ben, and even the whole entire breakfast and dinner staff were amazing. Courtney the Manager was amazing as well! Quick to answer any issues and resolve all of them. I recommend anyone to stay there. Rooms are clean, and the beds were comfy. I will stay here again for all my needs when I am in Charlotte.

First, the good points about this hotel- The location of this Marriott is very convenient. There is quick access to regular fare restaurants, gas station, the interstate highway and easily accessible to South Park, uptown Charlotte or to get around in general. The hotel itself is relatively quiet and the staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean, and comfortable. All the appliances worked; the refrigerator, stove, garbage disposal, microwave, dishwasher, and the heat and air conditioner. You may wonder why I brought this up. This leads me to the bad points..... This Marriott is incredibly in need of a remodel. The décor is horribly out-of-date, including the drapes, carpeting, and all the appliances are really old and dated. If I had to estimate, I'd say the refrigerator and stove were from the early 80's at best but more likely from the late 1970's. I will say, ALL of the appliances in spite of age worked perfectly well and I was pleasantly surprised. Another bad sign of wear and tear is the stairways going up to the 2nd floor units. Stairs are comprised of cement, steel caps on stair edging, and wooden decks on the landings and balcony. The steel end caps on the stairs in some places had rusted completely through. A lot of the wood on the balconies, while painted, have seen much better days. It's a shame as this Marriott has some charm potential here, but it appears to be just tired and aged. The location is busy enough, and I'm surprised updating hasn't taken place as it certainly is a busy location. I will say, the surrounding areas don't feel all that 'safe'. Not the hotel it'self, but some surrounding areas in the immediate vicinity. For instance, the gas station on the corner has up to 6 homeless men who hang or 'live' there. One young lady was so incapacitated she was nodding off while sitting on cases of water just outside the convenience store. Some of the homeless have literally built 'nests' in shrubbery around various business in the immediate vicinity of this hotel also. The Hilton next door suffers the same fate as this Marriott with what is declining in the area surrounding them. It just didn't feel all that safe like other locations. Could this be why no upgrade to this Marriott?--- I don't know. I just won't be in a hurry to recommend this location to out-of-towners. It's really too bad as I really want to.

I found the room very comfortable, and the space was just perfect for two people, the kitchen had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable and it was clean. The breakfast was also very good and the coffee station had my favorite flavor creamer. The rate was also acceptable. Now the staff was very friendly and accommodating.

After a long Veterans day weekend, I was greeted by two of the best receptionists that I have ever encountered in my 21 yrs plus service in the U.S.Army. BEBE, AND COURTNEY is an awesome duo! Not only did they accommodate our needs with a smile, their persistence for customer satisfaction went above and beyond. I'm not one to normally write reviews because its enough negative views, however, I would feel less than a Man if I didn't brag on two of the best people my wife and I have ever encountered. We thank you both and look forward to seeing you more as we plan our trips in this area! Thanks and they both need to be promoted immediately. You will always have friends, "The Pruitt Family"
