The night auditor was very friendly and professional. The room was clean and breakfast was good. They have fresh sausage and eggs and yummy grits. I will definitely stay here again when I visit Charlotte in the future.
My sister and I stayed there from May 5-12. We stayed in a two bedroom suite. It was very spacious and we each had our own bathroom. The stayed was really good, except for road construction near the hotel. We asked to move to another room further back from the construction. We was moved to first floor one. It was quite away from construction, but the upstairs is best because someone above would have a stomping fest upstairs. They have a good breakfast every morning. All the staff was polite and very friendly. From the front desk to the food service. I would recommend this hotel, and would stay again. It is close to everything. We even took the bus to the uptown area. Thank you Residence Inn.I would have given a 5 star if it hadn't been for the construction noise and stumperstar
I've read some of the other reviews. How sad that a guest blames the hotel for the guests actions! I know the GM, Eric. He's a really great manager and his staff loves him!! He's always available, always willing to work with Any one and EVERY one. This facility has access to any where and every where in the city. I ALWAYS have a Great Experience here and ALWAYS book my stays at this facility! Give it a try!! Tell Eric, Long Haired Joseph recommends this facility above all others in the City!!
This hotel was awesome. The staff was great, the room was great. The location was great. My only delimma was the parking spot can be bigger other than that I enjoyed my time at this hotel. I plan on staying here again.
The Residence Inn Charlotte University Research Park earns four stars based upon four categorical traveler assessments: customer-centric staff; modernized hotel-room furnishings; food options, and recognition of Marriott-premium members. Across the categories, this Marriott property almost meets the mark. First, the hotel staff were very professional and respectful; Jessica - always smiling. Very friendly. Set a very positive customer-engagement tone. Second, this Marriott property offers reasonable room rates. The hotel is far enough, and close enough from the main airport. The room accommodations were good. The bathroom towels were fresh and soft. The bed was comfortable. Very quiet rooms. I slept soundly. Request room reservation for the fourth floor, facing east. Free parking. Third, the complimentary breakfast was standard. The coffee was always fresh. Restaurants are within walking distance. Fourth, this property recognizes Gold/Platinum members when they check in. Frequent business travelers earned it. I received a nice bag filled with water and chips. Overall, the excellent staff with positive attitudes gets this property an additional start - without it- a three-star rating would be more appropriate due to the steep road entrance leading into the property. However, I will stay here again.
Before going into the unpleasant events of my families recent visit, I would like to acknowledge that the housekeeping staff are excellent. Our room was always fully stocked and maintained. However, the management seems to be unmotivated and unwilling to address drug use on the property. A neighboring guest had smoked marijuana on a daily basis, more than once a day, filling our room with the putrid smell of pot. The problem was reported on 2 separate occasions, with no change in the guests usage. In addition, the same hotel guest was involved in a 3 hour yelling dispute which could be heard in our room and outside our 2nd floor window. Unpleasant experience for a family with a young child. Never returning and recommend anyone to stay at a more reputable hotel.
This is a good hotel that is always clean and has a friendly staff. There are plenty of stores within a 5 minute walk from here. Walgreens and IHOP across the street, Bojangles and Burger King next to hotel and Cheddars and a few other restaurants no more than 10 minutes walking and a Wal-Mart. There is construction on the street with the light rail that they are building but it appeared to ending soon.
I'm a fan of Residence Inn and this location provided the same solid experience that I'm accustomed to. The rooms were clean, quiet and service was outstanding. During my stay at this Charlotte location there was ice and snow and the hotel did a great job of removing it from the parking lot, side walks and stairs.
This place dosent look fancy on the outside but the rooms are updated, clean, and the hospitality is top knotch. All week breakfast is served which is typical for a residence Inn and also during the week they have "snacks" and drinks. The food is amazing and the staff here are so sweet and accommodating. I will only stay at this hotel when we visit Charlotte which is every few months. We always travel with our 3 children ages 7,8, and 11 years old and they also love this hotel as well. IN typical Marriott fashion this place is definitely worth staying at!
We flew into Charlotte but missed our connecting flight, so we stayed at the Residence Inn. Pleasant surprise. The rooms are beautiful, My room had a kitchen, work/living area, bedroom, bathroom, huge closet, and a nice view of the pool. The bed was a kingsize -- very comfortable. Outside in the courtyard there was a fire pit with a fire that kept going all night, but it was too hot, humid to stay out long. There is no lounge, but in the lobby there is a huge refrigerator were you can purchase beer and wine, and other soft drinks and snacks. It was late night when we arrived. The check-in person was great, and we had taken a Marriott shuttle from the airport, which picked us up again in the morning. Breakfast was really good -- quite a selection of food to choose from, including hot (eggs, waffles, bacon, sausage) and cold -- cereal and fruits. We were the first up because we had an early flight, so everything was fresh.
