Stayed overnight with two teens visiting UNC-C and attending a college fair. Room with King bed and sleeper sofa was spacious and clean. The decorative fireplace was a nice feature. Breakfast was fresh and clean with good variety. The location was very convenient to interstate, university, restaurants, shopping, hospital. I was a bit surprised by how close the hotel sits to the road front: the entrance is quite a steep drop from N. Tryon but traffic noise wasn't an issue. The hotel staff was very nice: at checkin, the clerk provided us with a list of local restaurants and two maps of the local area. The next morning, a different front desk clerk and the manager were well-informed on road conditions and forecast related to snow that began in the middle of the night. They printed directions to the venue we were driving to later and advised us on parking expectations at the venue as well. They'd treated the sidewalks for any iciness and seemed well-prepared to keep guests comfortable despite the frigid temps and snowy conditions. All of their information proved accurate -- thanks!!
My wife and I stayed here last weekend using our Marriott Rewards points. I didn't realize when I booked the hotel that the location had exterior corridor rooms, which is something I usually try to avoid, however, this location was just fine! The hotel actually felt like I was staying in an apartment, which was welcome. The fireplaces in each room were a plus as well. Something you don't get in most hotels. The room was well updated and had everything we needed. Breakfast in the morning was sufficient as well. As a category 2 hotel on the Marriott scale I wasn't expecting too much in the line of glamour, but the hotel really met and exceeded our needs! The staff was very friendly as well. We will be back on our next trip to Charlotte!
Unless you wish to share your accommodations with a few new friends, look elsewhere. This place is a dump. Not what I'd expect from a Marriott brand. Manger was aware of the issue and said its the fault of next door construction. When asked why they hadn't called the exterminators he seemed dumbfounded by the question.
I had no problems with this hotel I frequently stay at Marriotts while I visit family or just for pleasure residence inn is amazing from checking in until checking out it was great definitely a place to stay
Good location for the University of North Carolina Charlotte. Eating locations within easy walking distance. Great rooms, clean and spacious. Quiet despite its location. Excellent service from the staff always.
Was only in for a night. I picked this property for it's location. Had I known how strong this hotel was ahead of time, I would've stayed longer (worth the extra drive from the next night's work). Like most Residence Inn's, would be perfect for a longer stay as well. It was like having my own apartment on the road. The most difficult thing for a set up like this is keeping everything clean. This Residence Inn came through with flying colors. From the spacious kitchen, including all the dishes, fridge & silverware to the work space, extra bedroom, bathroom and living area-everything was perfect. The breakfast was well stocked and I always appreciate the healthier options (including various fruit). The breakfast area didn't feel cramped, like so many do so I didn't feel like I was eavesdropping on various conversations. The fitness center comes has 3 cardio machines, dumbbells and a bench. They also have a deal with an offsite gym for free visits if you're looking for a more complete workout. I was only in for a night and if I go back to Charlotte, I'll definitely stay at this Residence Inn.
