It is technically a Motel not Hotel as advertised. The room was in need of an update. It smelled and walls were dirty and needed painting.

Had to wait a few minutes for staff to arrive at front desk but he was very kind. When entering our room, I was instantly disappointed in the stench - smoke/dampness/pet. I contacted front desk and he offered to come “spray” the room. I asked if he had another room available that didn’t smell like that, and he apologized and said he did not. The chair in the room was so icky, I didn’t even sit on it to take off my shoes. It looked as if someone had sprinkled carpet freshener on it while damp. I chose this hotel because it had the highest star rating in Charleston Illinois, but I’m not sure if those stars were accumulated during previous ownership, or if the other hotels in town are just that much worse. Definitely would not stay here again.

Good clean room. Staff wasn't intrusive. Enjoy the exterior door room access. Attended business mtg that day and facility for it was comfortable. One small note, and a very small one, I killed two small cockroaches in my room so managers might want to address that.

Horrible doesn’t begin to describe it. The only good thing I have to say is we didn’t see any bugs. To start off, the room keys did not work consistently, requiring one of us to traipse back to the check in desk twice in a 19 hour stay. The room was 60 degrees when we arrived. The door would not lock unless you slammed or pulled it. There was dirt in the corners of the floor and, to top it off, the floor of the shower was streaked black with dirt that looked as if no one even tried hard to clean it. Do yourself a favor and buy a tent and sleep outside before staying here.

The first room they gave me was smelly then they gave me a second room on the second floor 225 where the lights wasn’t working and then I tripped up the stairs with the stairs is broken outside as you go in before getting into the room, I reported it to the desk so I can get a cancellation of my stay because they also put me away in the back in the back of the hotel, where there was no cars it looked deserving. Everybody else was booked in front of the hotel so that was a major red flag to me, as well as tripping over the broken stairs.

First, they wanted to charge me for checking in half an hour early. Second, they did not replace the hair dryer that I had reported as non-working. Third, I had a random knock on my door from a staff member "just checking in" during the evening. And finally, they knocked on my door at 10:20am asking if I was checking out (when check out wasn't until 11). Will not stay there again.

They told us they didn’t have the room that we booked with two beds, they also said that we were not booked in until November 3 contrary to what the confirmation paper said that I had. The room is not well taken care of at all dirt on the inside of the door, neglected furnishings and rug. I would never stay here again and only had to stay cause there was no other place available in town.
