My wife and I booked a room here for one night to attend a local sporting event. Long story short, we were in our room long enough to book a room somewhere else.
Upon arrival, check-in went smoothly though I was surprised to be told that a 3% surcharge would be applied for using a credit card. This was not disclosed when I made my reservation and honestly, I'm not sure how many people arrive and pay for their hotel room in cash. But, whatever, it was late and I was tired.
The area around the hotel doesn't inspire confidence in terms of security. For example, there were a couple of guys riding bicycles around on property in the dark wearing skull face masks. I made sure I parked where I could keep an eye on my car and headed inside.
The room was quite dated but admittedly the room rate was quite reasonable so I didn't expect luxury here. That said, regardless of the rate, I do expect a clean room. Ultimately, what turned us away was the large stain in the middle of the bed sheet right on top in plain view ... it's not like someone missed this while cleaning. And, numerous hairs all over several of the bed pillows. Clearly, there was a housekeeping issue here. I briefly considered asking to change rooms but at the end of the day, why would I expect another room to be cleaner? So, I found a (more expensive, unfortunately) place nearby and made a reservation.
