Have stayed here 4 times now, and it is an excellent choice while visiting the U of Illinois. Not near the campus but an easy10 min drive. Very clean and quiet. Nice Hot Breakfast. At times a great value as well.

My wife and I booked a room here for one night to attend a local sporting event. Long story short, we were in our room long enough to book a room somewhere else. Upon arrival, check-in went smoothly though I was surprised to be told that a 3% surcharge would be applied for using a credit card. This was not disclosed when I made my reservation and honestly, I'm not sure how many people arrive and pay for their hotel room in cash. But, whatever, it was late and I was tired. The area around the hotel doesn't inspire confidence in terms of security. For example, there were a couple of guys riding bicycles around on property in the dark wearing skull face masks. I made sure I parked where I could keep an eye on my car and headed inside. The room was quite dated but admittedly the room rate was quite reasonable so I didn't expect luxury here. That said, regardless of the rate, I do expect a clean room. Ultimately, what turned us away was the large stain in the middle of the bed sheet right on top in plain view ... it's not like someone missed this while cleaning. And, numerous hairs all over several of the bed pillows. Clearly, there was a housekeeping issue here. I briefly considered asking to change rooms but at the end of the day, why would I expect another room to be cleaner? So, I found a (more expensive, unfortunately) place nearby and made a reservation.

Bathroom was dirty. Hairdryer didn't work. Ask for replacement did not receive it. What else about that place. Children running up and down the stairs during the night. ironing board did not have a cover so we couldn't iron our clothing. Tub was dangerous to get in and out of no handles to hold onto. Toilet didn't flush had to jiggle the handle. Ceiling over the tub was crumbling. What else oh mattresses were hard. Had a sliding glass door to a patio with nothing on it and no screen for the door.

Extra fee at check in for CC use. AC not on in room and it was 85 degrees. Crusty substances and hair in the bed. No pillow cases on pillows. Broken sidewalks and paving tripping hazards, and rotting wood railings. ‘Housekeeping’ non existent. Only good thing was front desk was pleasant and he gave me my money back without argument when we had to checkout without staying after we clearly were not ever going to get clean bedding. Another woman was requesting a refund and leaving at the same time. So it wasn’t just us. I’ve made do in some rough places…here,we just couldn’t even stay.

It is not called east lake. It is called east land. Oyo does not appear to have anything to do with it. There were crickets in the lobby and big gaps under the doors to the rooms. We left with a cricket. The pillows were comfy. The pictures here are the “social media” end of social media vs reality.

There was nothing about this property that we liked. It smelled musty, the sheets and pillowcases had hair on them, the shower was so dirty that we didn’t even take showers, plus the towels were stained and had hair on them. We covered the pillows with our own shirts so we wouldn’t have to lay our heads on the pillowcases.

Didn't like that we had a person smoking weed and drinking on a picnic table outside our room yelling and screaming all night. Had to call front desk 3 times and tell them to call the police. Rooms are so outdated and dirty. Musty smell all over property. Front desk gentleman were awesome though

Overall not a bad hotel for a quick trip in to see a UIUC football game. Hotel is a bit rundown & a little off the beaten track. Beds were comfortable & the staff helpful. Fairly good experience & reasonably priced.
