This hotel has a great location within Downtown Oaxaca, and surrounded of great small stores, the rooms are spacious, clean and the areas are really great, breakfast is excellent and front desk service very friendly
Nice Hotel well located with good service, Room was excelent and quiet. Has a lot of pieces of design that together makes everything. Has Bicycles that you can use to make your own tour by the city and is a couple of blocks of the Zocalo and 20 de Noviembre Market is almost 10 minute walking from santo Domingo Church, so is perfect to walk and don't use car or taxis.
The place has great real state (3 blocks from everything). They have 24 hrs concierge and security. The rooms have a/c working, english channels on the tv and the beds are very comfortable. It accomadates well for adults. I did not see kids running around or screaming in the mornings what made it perfect.
It is very well located nearby to all major attractions and restaurants. The hotel patio creates a nice atmosphere. It has plants and a fountain that produce a pleasant atmosphere. Rooms are spacious. Mattress can be better. The continental breakfast is just OK. The service is efficient and they offer tours arrangement is needed. I would recommend it for a 3-4 day staying in Oaxaca.
Oaxaca is by far my favorite city in this wonderful country in which I was born. It is a city filled with history, tradition, prehispanic monuments, art, color, culture and delicious food. Located two blocks away from the Cathedral, Casa de Sierra Azul is a very charming hotel. The room was spacious and very clean. There is a central patio with a fountain and the restaurant tables are around this patio outside every room. Food and drinks were very good and prices were very reasonable. I would recommend it without any doubt.
This place has some good things going for it, and I can recommend it. The location is great for walking tours and spending time on the Zocolo. The courtyard of the colonial style home is a delight, and we enjoyed the included simple breakfast. The service at breakfast was very nice. We had dinner the first night on the courtyard, as we were tired and it was raining. The dinner was certainly adequate, but TripAdvisor can point you to some great moderate price restaurants close by. We were in room 102, which was up one flight of stairs. It was quite there, not exposed to any noise from courtyard, but if stairs are a problem, you might ask for something else. Frankly, if stairs are a problem, Oaxaca might not be the place for you. The room had an interesting view of an ivy covered wall. I liked it. The furniture was a little strange. The was no closet, but a wardrobe. There was a strange sort of chaise, which was not comfortable, and we used as a platform for luggage. The other chair was a straight back without arms. So, we ended up seated on the bed a good bit, hardly ideal. The bathroom was adequate, but be patient for hot water. The staff were pleasant, but do not expect much English. I would stay here again. I was pleased with the rate in the $60+ range.
The location is just marvelous, a three minutes walk away from the zocalo. It's an ok hotel, but nothing extraordinary. I think there are better hotels in this price range. Also, when I first got there, the internet wasn't working in my room. I told them immediately, and they said they would ask someone to fix it. Three days later, when I was leaving, the internet still didn't work, so this was really bad service for me...
Great Location 2 blocks away of the main plaza. The hotel is well worth the price with a nice local ambience. Some rooms are much nicer than others so be very careful when they assign your room so you dont get one of the darker ones.
The rooms and grounds are beautiful. We really loved the historic architecture that was preserved, especially in the entrance and courtyard, which was so beautiful at night with the stained glass lanterns lit. The location is perfect - about a 5 minute walk to the zocalo and a 10 minute walk to Santo Domingo. Really friendly staff, good breakfast options, the wifi is fast, and the A/C was great for the few times during our trip that it really got hot. Like other reviewers have mentioned, they offer you a complimentary mezcal shot when you check in. Overall, we were really happy with our stay and would definitely book again.
Amazing hotel, comfortable, great atmosphere, friendly staff. My boyfriend and I spent are first night at a different hotel - less expensive - also nice BUT it did not have air conditioning we walked around and checked out some hotels around the Zocalo and this one had us right away it is incredible, beautiful and the staff was very accommodating. Highly recommend for your stay in Oaxaca - totally worth the extra pesos.
