There was no vending machine on our floor. When I called down to enquire about one, I was told i had to go to another floor. When I went to another floor, there was only a pop machine, no snacks. Ice bucket was very small. The person behind the desk was always on her phone, though she did have a friendly personality and took care of us when needed. The shelf above the toilet is a dangerous location. Ran into it sharply and left with a bruise. Worst of all, hot water ran out. With a large tub in the room, something should be done to fix this. Absolutely unacceptable to only have warm water for a bath and shower. Very disappointed I spent a lot of money for such sub-par accommodations.

I think the architects had a modernistic look in mind. It's more form over function and the room was showing some age in frayed carpet, blinds, sheet rock and drink spots on the ceiling. Overall the staff was friendly. Parking is extra at the City Garage. Breakfast is shared with the Sheraton and not included. The room was fine but not particularly impressive for the money.

I stayed there for 4 days and it was the perfect location for being in the center of it all. Within walking distance to campus, restaurants, coffee shops, bookstores and bars.

No clock, no utensils, phone dials didn't work, loud, other guests kept knocking on door. Need more help at front desk. Generally, the place is not congenial. Prefer the Sheraton.

Everything about the hotel was good. From the restaurant to the surrounding bars.

Great room, amazing bathroom, excellent location. Fitness center was small, pool but no jacuzzi.

My Son and I were in the area to visit a variety of college campus's in the area. The location was good, walking distance to restaurants and VERY comfy pillows and beds. We would stay here again.

Remarkable hotel in the heart of Iowa City. The service was incredible from the front desk team to housekeeping. Responsive, professional and kind. The rooms are very (!) spacious with lovely views of downtown Iowa City. It is a true gem and I highly recommend staying there when visiting IC.

Regrettably we were in Iowa City for just a one night stay for a special occasion. Our stay at the hotelVetro was very, very, nice. The staff at check-in was courteous and efficient. When I needed some help find a boutique close by she had the perfect solution. The room was very different and it's ultra modern design made for a relaxing stay. Great experience and we plan to stay here again.

We walked into the Hotel Vetro and it seemed very Metropolitan. It was on the heart of downtown Iowa city. Only a block from the theater we were going to and within walking distance of many restaurants and bars. The pedestrian mall was hopping with people just outside and it felt like great nightlife was happening, even for grown-ups, not just for college kids. The room itself was gorgeous with floor to ceiling windows with a great view of town. The room was very comfortable with a very neat modern aesthetic. I was very pleased and will stay there again when I'm in Iowa city.

Hotel Vetro is an impressive hotel, located right downtown. If you plan on enjoying Iowa City nightlife, this is the one. Clean, modern, and fairly priced.

My daughter and I stayed in this hotel on a college visit. We absolutely loved it. Beds were very comfortable. Room was very clean. We also loved the fact that they have large garden tubs, as well as separate showers. My daughter is 6'0" and the outside temperature for us, was really cold. So, for her to be able to soak in a warm tub was great. The staff was always courteous and knowledgeable. Will recommend to anyone going to Iowa city.

Hotel room was nice, clean, and had a great view however I accidentally left a bag of gifts that friends had given me in the room. I went back and told the front desk and they checked the room and the room had been cleaned and the bag was gone. I was given a phone number to call to speak to room services and I left a message. No one ever returned my call. I kept contacting the front desk and they said nothing had come up and to keep trying the room services. The cleaning staff obviously took my bag and were not willing to return it to me. I was and still am absolutely livid about it. I would be extremely cautious about leaving belongings behind in your room when you're out for the day.

A one-night stopover on our return home--an unexpected find! Very modern--lots of concrete and minimalist furniture. The room was spacious, the bed was very comfortable, and the staff was courteous. Excellent restaurants within walking distance with top-quality food and drink options.

This is a very cool hotel smack dab downtown Iowa City. There were some difficulties getting into our room The first room we were given the electronic lock was dead, so after a couple trips to the front desk we were put in a different room. The room was very clean and modern looking. The staff was very friendly, helpful and courteous. What made our stay a 4 was at 5:20 am the fire alarm went off. It turned out that the privately own restaurant connected to the hotel had a gas leak. My wife and I decided to simply head home at that point not knowing how long it would be before we could have gotten back into the hotel. But, I want to repeat...the staff was VERY customer service oriented and made us feel welcome. The hotel is very new and modern. Location, well you can't ask for a better one in Iowa City.

Other than parking issues this is a great place. Close to most IC resturants and bars and close to the main college campus.

Had an Iowa City reunion with some college buddies. We were all VERY impressed with the staff and their amazing customer service. Our room overlooked the ped mall and was in a perfect location for a night on the town. Very modern decor, exceptional bathroom, and nice kitchen. The only downside was lack of any glasses/dishes in the kitchenette. I am sure they were available, but we used solo cups that we had. I will definitely stay at Hotel Vetro again, and highly recommend it to anyone traveling into the downtown Iowa City area.

Great location for Iowa campus visitors. Great room great bed. Cost high even for non weekend night during no sports in summer

The Hotel Vetro is a great little gem in downtown Iowa City. The room was beautiful and clean. The staff was accommodating. I would definitely stay again!

We chose Hotel Vetro spontaneously while on a road trip when it was time to take a break from driving. My BF used to live in Iowa City and wanted to stay there. It worked out really well especially because they had room service until 11 and we needed to eat. The food was really good. Overall we were pleased, we ha a corner suite complete with a huge bathroom and kitchenette. My only complaint is the air conditioners for the neighboring building wa really loud and non stop which was kind I annoying. But overall a great stay and good value.
