We had an affordable deal from Metrodeal for our anniversary. We came from Taguig and exited at Malitlit to drop by in Paseo de Sta Rosa then headed our way to Estancia. The location of the place was along the Tagaytay rd so it was so easy to spot and near Starbucks which was only few walks from the street parking of the hotel. It was just unfortunate for us since there was a storm when we booked our stay. The guard approached us amidst heavy rain, parked our car first in the street level parking then preceded at the lobby. It was so cool that the floor numbers are ascending but the direction of the lift was descending. At the lobby we presented our voucher along with a valid ID however a deposit of 2500 was needed which will be returned after we checked out. Just unlucky for us since we did not have any cash left since the ATM machines in Paseo de Sta Rosa are all offline and we only have 1500. I offered my debit card but they said their system wont be able to read it (something like that) and would prefer only credit cards. Good thing they agreed for a 1500 deposit since its the only cash we have. We checked in at 3:00, an hour late for their check in time but still they accomodated us well. We were provided with two breakfast stubs, slip for the refund of the money and another one which I barely remember. The receptionist informed us that the amenities are available for everyone anytime except the sauna and jacuzzi which needs to be reserved two hrs before we use it so we reserved it for the next day at 9 am. We were a deluxe room rm 10 with two beds, a cabled CRT tv, bathroom with heater, complementary toiletries, bar with snacks and towels. The room was spacious enough for the two of us and we stayed there for most of our stay since it was raining hard. When the rain somehow stopped we roamed around the place and it was really huge with all the house for conventions ans events and the Santorini houses. They have 2 pools and jacuzzi for indoor and outdoor, an entertainment room which we had for ourselves and sauna of course! We had a verdanda outside our room with the view of outdoor pool, hotel facade, parking area and space for picnics or hangouts. The next day we went to the lobby and asked for their wifi password. Each phone is given a small paper with the username and password to use for the free access. We also had a nice breakfast after. We choose the rice meals since we did not have any chance to eat dinner last night because it was raining hard and we were too lazy to go out and try meals in Mahogany. Their rice meals is okay with free coffee or chocolate drink. How I wish the coffee drink was hot since mine was not but the attendant was nice to attend to our needs. After that we went for their jacuzzi with heated water then sauna. We checked out at 12 noon but they were kind enough to let us stay for an hour in their lobby since I was playing EverWing and needed time to crash while waiing for our appointment at 4pm. Tips - Bring extra cash - Bring snacks - Ask for slippers if you need it - Reserve the jacuzzi and sauna immediately - Try all the facilities Good thing - Very accomodating and friendly staffs - Nice view - Free parking - Wifi access - Huge servings of food - No corkage fee Improve - Atleast free bottled water the moment you check in - Accept debit cards (please) - Pail for sauna - Repair jacuzzi's wooden floor - Flexible time for check in Overall we had a nice stay at the hotel. :)
We purchased a Metro Deal voucher worth 2,399 for an overnight stay on this hotel. This would be our first time to spend overnight in Tagaytay since usually we only visit the place for day trips. At first, my impression for the property was not that good reading the previous reviews, comments and disappointments of other guests. But, why won't we give it a try! Our booking was confirmed already but I wanted to make sure that everything was all set so I sent an e-mail to them for verification. I was surprised that they are very quick in answering my questions and queries. Most especially with Naidie form Reservations, she was the one who helped us with everything. We visited the place during weekdays so it's not very crowded. What we liked most was: 1. Staffs are very hospitable, polite and helpful. Every time we passed by at the hotel lobby and restaurant, they would greet us with a huge smile. :) 2. Hotel's interior, facilities, room and overall layout were very relaxing. I love the Taal Volcano view the most. :) 3. Hotel has an indoor and outdoor pool, Jacuzzi and Sauna. 4. Food was nice. We ordered Party Spaghetti (which was very yummy and huge serving which was for a reasonable price) and Club Sandwich for dinner. Estancia Big Breakfast during the morning (Longgsilog and Tapsilog) which was very good! Most especially their Tapa, it's the yummiest of all! 5. It's location was very accessible to public transportation, restaurants, attractions and it is located on the main road. Thank you for the short but sweet stay. Thank you for preparing something for me and my boyfriend's 3rd anniversary! Will definitely come back and will recommend you to our family and friends. Cheers, Jane
Nice view from our room. And when it's early morning, the fog gets in the room when you open the door leading to the balcony. The pools had to be well maintained. And they can also do better on the food.
This place offers a good view of Taal volcano and Taal lake. However, if you cannot afford to be detached from the rest of the world for a day or more, this is not the place for you as wifi is only available in the lobby. For me however and my significant other, this place offers the peace and relaxation we are looking for in a hotel. Estancia has plenty of rooms to offer with each Santorini room offering a roof deck providing a perfect vantage point for one to view Taal volcano. Also, for people who hates hiking, again, this is not the place for you as rooms and offices are located far apart but they have a golf cart service to ferry guests to their rooms. Food is good but lacks variety. The place needs renovation and re-painting of water damage. The place offers a game room, indoor/outdoor pool, Jacuzzi and sauna. Staff are very courteous and we did not have any problems from check in to check out time. Hotel is not crowded and there is ample parking space.
For a hotel charging an average of 5,000 per night, there is nothing in this place worth your money. The layout is pretty terrible. Rooms are far away from the main area, there are several levels with no apparent rhyme or reason for where the areas are. The rooms are spacious, but the beds are hard, the TV displays static on every channel, the aircon is old and extremely noisy, the towels are worn, and hot shower comes out for a minute then you're left with cold water. I cannot begin to explain how horrible the food is. It's like food that you buy from the street, packed in plastic, and bring back to the office for a quick and sad lunch. The desserts are even worse. I got a P200 panna cotta, and got served a gelatinous white substance with liquefied sago, topped with brown gunk that tasted like pineapples. The only redeeming factor I can think of is the staff. They're kind and accommodating, but that's about it.
This hotel it's nice, but still needs a lot of improvement. The Internet is available only in the lobby and the speed it's super slow. A higher Internet speed and more repeaters will be nicer. Prices of food are not super high, but the serving it's to small for what you pay. The view of Taal Volcano is nice, from this hotel and the good thing is located near starbucks where you can get a better coded. Even it's located just in the main road, the place is still peaceful and silent. They should renovate some areas and make a wall to not see the squater houses at the right side of the hotel. They also have lot of security but still when we arrived from a walk to the mall at 11 pm the main door entrance was lock so that our only way to go inside was thru the parking. Girls, you really don't want to use high hills coming down that road. Staff are okay, but can be way better than that. In the room we stay the AC was dirty and not so effective daytime, but at night time it's okay. They have 2 swimming pool, 2 jacuzzi and 2 sauna. The tv inside the room also offer some upgrades. Even color TV with remote control still I believe a flat screen TV and bigger size can make you feel better. The beds are comfortable, but sadly are good for one single person, or if 2 person will sleep in same bed be prepared to hug yourself whole night. The shower have a heater also the lavatory. Prices for minibar wasn't super expensive, so you can go for it if you choose to. The elevator they have had a super bad smell, like there was something death in it. Overall we stay here 2n and 3d and I can say was good enough, even the price is high. Sadly they didn't offer a countdown for new year, or setup a new year party for us, so we need to go around and have new year celebration.
Estancia may have been good in its hey day, but it's one of the worst hotels I've stayed in the last 7 hotel stays since December 2016. I'm a heavy traveller and I can only compare estancia's service to 2 star hotels in HK or Indonesia. Why? They cook the bacon with the same cooking oil as the fish that your wife happened to order (fish tasting bacon, imagine that) the sunny side up is BARELY cooked (despite my liking for runny eggs already), and the waiters are either absent minded or utterly not paying attention as they brought a different order than what I asked them to repeat my order was. Cmon I know you have to save on costs, but reusing the oil you used to cook fish to cook ham and bacon? Really? And to top things off, the front desk (Joan) called my room 2hrs before check out and asked if I wanted assistance leaving the hotel. To think that I spoke with them very calmly about the inedible food they served... and I did not even hear one word of apology. Oh well I didn't eat my breakfast as I did not trust them to bring me proper food. But never will I go back to this place or refer to any of my contacts.
I had a mixed adventure and fun during our times at Estancia with my foreigner friend. The golf car that drove us even at night to our Santorini Villa. The long walks. The ascending and descending of stairways. The jacuzzi chilled me. I love the breakfast served.
Estancia Hotel is located along the main road of Tagaytay. The staff are helpful, but the front desk service was little slow. It took us 30 minutes to check in to the room. The room is average overlooking taal lake. The food was quite expensive. They have a pool that is well maintained. The hotel area was quite huge. They have lots of cottages downstairs. The hotel needs some repainting. Overall it is a good stay.
1. They checked us in one hour late 2. Full payment is required prior to check-in and they don't have a credit card facility 3. The room smells bad, not thoroughly cleaned, they obviously rushed the clean-up. 4. The extra bed I requested was not set-up, we had to follow-up 3x before they set it up. No towels were provided, again we had to request. 5. Rooms and amenities need a serious upgrade --- old and worn out! 6. Only commendable thing is the friendliness of their staff who are obviously shaken when customers started complaining. A bad experience with this hotel. Will not come back if there are other options.
