Sophia is a beautiful boutique hotel located within the Walled City area. Our deluxe room was large and exceeded our expectations. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. My wife and I highly recommend the Sophia Hotel.

Location of this hotel is one of the best in the old city close to the exit near the clock tower. The service is excellent and staff went out of there way to make my stay one of the best in Cartagena. Be sure to try the specialty drinks in the rooftop bar.

Great hotel, staff, amenities and location. The staff will help you to book tours, give addresses and suggestions. The room was clean and very nice decorated.

We had a wonderful 5-night stay at the Sophia Hotel. It is located within the walled central city and sits on a beautiful plaza (Plaza Anduana--which is where you should tell your taxi driver to take you, as street addresses are not as helpful). There are many emerald stores in Cartegena, but the real jewels of this city are the people, especially the staff at the Sophia Hotel. The beautiful Maryius, who was always happy to chat and see if there was anything we needed. The amazing Andres who was also so helpful and gave wonderful dining recommendations. The very professional Pedro, who booked our trip to Isla del Sol and our private 5 hour tour of the city. Finally, mixologist Frank who listened to what we liked and whipped up delicious cocktails for us. The dining room and housekeeping staff were also very accommodating. I saw that other reviewers commented on the free breakfast--I found it to be a very typical continental breakfast: fruit, bread, juice, coffee. If you want something more substantial, you can pay more for other menu options, or you can grab a larger pastry or empanada around the corner for around $2. We had a very large room overlooking the plaza with one king bed. There was AC and a large ceiling fan to keep us cool. This was my first time to Cartagena and I'm so happy I stayed at the Sophia.

Amazing experience. Great staff! Great location. Great pool. Spacious room. Slept well.

The room was nice, in good condition. The pool was on the roof and the setting was great. The breakfasts were good. The staff was exceptional.

Brand new place. Less than six month old. Beautiful clean rooms, super comfy bed and pillows. Personalized service from the complete staff. Great rooftop pool with bar and snack service. This was particularly helpful in cooling off the hot days in Cartagena. The staff also helped us take a day trip to Rosario Islands. They recomende Coralina resort. It was awsome! We will definitely return.
