Best wedding ever, the house was a dream, the stuff was incredibly friendly and lovely, the house was like reading a book of Gabriel Garcias... If I can come back from Australia I wouldn’t hesitate to stay in this magical place :) highly recommended!!!
I stayed here with my best-friend to celebrate our 50 th birthdays. I choose it because my bucket list included to stay at a Relais Chateaux hotel. The property is so pretty. The suites and antiques charming. I felt like i was in an old world telenovela. The rooms were expansive , comfortable and tastefully done in authentic colonial period furnishings and decor. The breakfast was excellent everyday. They can make whatever your heart desires. I did not eat at the restaurant , Amadeus, i felt since i ate breakfast the five days, there I wanted to try out other places. The real GEM of this place is the wait staff / porters. Without them, Casa Pestagua is just a pretty place void of life and energy. Omar Santiago, Miguel Porto, Alejandro, Orlando , Carlos .My favorite response, from the guys was "if we don't have it , we will get it". Case in point, I am an avid futbol fan. On my Saturday stay, it was raining. Usually I call it Soccer Saturday. Initially they didn't have any sports channels. When I inquired, the about it I had access to every single league on the Planet !!! I don't even have that back in USA. It was insane !!! I sip fresh mint juice ( cartegena specialty ) and enjoyed my matches . Jennifer was very helpful , she answered all my emails in a timely manner , and there were plenty of them. Arranged things I requested ahead of time, as well as airport transport. Please note, Relais Chateaux status does automatically imply Five Star. What makes a place Five star is perfection. And what separates very good from excellent from Superior is all in the details. There were a few things I noted , that detracted from absolute excellence , I discussed them with Monica the manager , and don't feel the need to divulge. She said she'd work on it. Lastly, the hotel is situated on a very popular busy street its a plus but also a minus. At night the "security" closes street access, leaving it difficult for the taxi cab drivers to access. Usually the cab driver has to butter the guards roll ( if you get my drift) to allow entrance. My friend as mobility issues, walks with use of walking poles, so thankfully, they let us through every night returning from dinner. Keep this in mind if elderly traveling, or having to push stroller, or hauling your luggage from the airport. Restaurants I highly recommend is 1621, Alma --Both are considered High end dining for dinner. Cande Cartegena is also very good for lunch. the . Also ask Jennifer to arrange the day trip to ISla del Encanto. its one of the Rosario private islands, Beautiful private beach, one hour boat ride, excellent lunch and three pools if prefer. Avoid Baru --public beach.
We spent a very nice, relax and friendly time in this hotel. The most beautiful place we saw in Cartagena! We felt very lucky to live our Colombian experience in this authentic and aesthetic house. Everything was perfect: the historic room decoration until the service. You will be very privileged if you have the chance to go to a Casa Pastagua!
Our stay at Casa Pestagua Hotel was an excellent experience from the moment of check-in, when we were greeted very cordially and efficiently. Perfectly located in the city the building is very well taken care of, but without compromise the striking colonial architecture that instantly takes guests back in time, allowing them to feel what life was like in that place at the sixteenth century. The apartments - furnished with beautiful original furniture from the colonial period - are cosy and very comfortable (mattress and pillows of very good quality and comfortable / spacious bathrooms with great shower / quiet and efficient air conditioning). Breakfast is "a la carte". Although I prefer buffet, I have always been very well served throughout the entire period of my stay and I have no bad points about it. To conclude, I must say that staying at Casa Pestagua Hotel was a great experience. Thank you to all the staff, always very friendly and helpful, for making me feel at home at all times. I feel that I arrived at Casa Pestagua as a guest and left as a friend.
We stayed in Casa Pestagua for our friends wedding at the end of August. We spent 2 nights there with our 3 children. The rooms are beautiful, big and comfortable and very stylish. The staff is very kind and attentive. Breakfast was delicious, served in the courtyard. There is a swimming pool but lots of mosquitoes around, there is also a rooftop jacuzzi with amazing views of the city. Overall we had a fabulous stay. We also had a feet massage at the spa (essential after dancing all night at the wedding). The Spa was very relaxing and the massage was great.
Without any doubt the most amazing boutique hotel i have ever been. Perfectly located in the center of the old city. Service and staffing is completely on point. Making you feel welcome and taken care of from the moment you step into the door. Seeing the professional staff at work you can feel how much thought goes into every detail - you can really tell they love to take care of you - true hospitality! And then the beautiful historic building, green everywhere, and the interior of the rooms - just wow, it's so beautifully decorated. The penthouse suite has a huge marble bathroom with waterfall shower you just want to stay in for ever. Comfortable and big beds with good pillows, leaving you feeling like royalty to sleep here. Plus a very well stocked mini bar with everything you can be craving for (even cigarettes!). Restaurant is also part of the 5 star experience, the staff here is very attentive and speaks english very well. Food is high quality, my favorites we're the octopus (served in a special crunchy way) and the local dessert Garapinado - must try!! And then to top it all off they have the best pool and spa. We booked a duo massage treatment here. Very relaxing ambiance and experienced masseuses. Have had an amazing time here and would recommend this place to everyone!
I cannot recommend this hotel enough for anyone looking to visit Cartagena. The place is outrageously beautiful and well located within the Walled City. The restaurant was also very delicious and the service all throughout was very good. This might the most beautiful place in Cartagena.
Casa Pestagua is the definition of luxury boutique hotel, the building is spectacular, rooms are very comfortable, the patio with the pool is beautiful, the restaurant is one of the best in town, and staff is excellent and take care of every detail. Thank you so much for taken such good care of me!
The people and the service here are impeccable. The staff know all the local places to visit, the quickest places to get there and all the people to deliver you to the destination. I was so happy and so delighted I wanted to buy them all a glass of bubbles to celebrate. How lucky I was to have Michael Shean and Partners in Sydney to recommend me to stay there. Only 11 rooms and all of them excellent. I was lucky enough to have the nice suite but all rooms are beautiful. You are close to the action but as soon as you enter the hotel there is tranquility and peace. There is nothing the staff will not do for you to make you enjoy the city as it should be enjoyed. The food is excellent and nothing is too much "of an ask." When I return this is the only hotel I shall stay at. I have travelled a lot and if I could find similar hotels in other cities I would choose this over all others, especially the larger ones (where I travel for business but at similar prices). This is the place to stay that is connected with all the right tour guides, charters, restaurant reservations and you need only talk to the concierge to have all arranged ahead of time. What a lovely and special place.
We stayed at the hotel Casa Pestagua for a wedding and evsrything from beginning to end was absolutely wonderful. The rooms are lovely, even the simplest one being a great size and ver comfortable. The hotel itself is beautifully made in an old colonial style, yet still offers all amenities. The breakfast was perfect and the staff is some of the friendliest and most helpful around. Outstanding service!
