I stopped at this hotel for one night in April 2017. I arrived without a reservation after my travel plans had changed and was able to get a room for £75 including breakfast. I was pleasantly surprised with the room as it was clean, well equipped, spacious with a large double bed. There was a good choice at the buffet breakfast where you could help yourself to the cooked offerings, cereal, bread/toast and yoghurts. The hotel has its own free car park and is located on the A2 (next to Lidl) just outside of Carrickfergus overlooking Belfast Lough. A negative comment about the room was that the bedside light switch was located too far away from the bed to be able to use it when in bed. Although not used, there is also a bar at the hotel and both KFC & subway are only a short walk away.

Arrived with a group of friends, and used this hotel as a base for touring the area. An attractive looking hotel with nice interior decor. The rooms were nicely furnished, the lounge and bar with plenty of room to relax, and the buffet breakfast plentiful and enjoyable. Service was good and the staff friendly. The only concern for me, was the noise from the revolving door every time it opened and closed. Perhaps some maintenance required.

Spent 4 days/3 nights here on a family getaway. Staff were lovely, rooms clean and comfortable and it was a perfect base to explore the area. Would definitely recommend. Particular mention to Gary who checked us in and also worked at the kids soft play. We had a great time, thank you.

Visited today with a friend for some lunch. I had the seafood chowder which was delicious and a well sized portion. Staff was friendly and had a lovely young boy take our order. I gave 4 star because no one asked us during our meal if the food was ok or asked if we needed anymore water. I went to the toilet near the end of the meal and I must say the place is spotless! Decor is absolutely stunning and I will definitely return! Very pleased.

It was just wonderful from start to finish . We had everything we could possibly want from our big day thanks to Steven Carson and all the staff at the loughshore former (clarion) when we got married there food , service and rooms all perfect , plenty of parking onsite also . Close to all amenities . We stayed here from 29 th July 2011 - 2 nd August . The banquet rooms for wedding receptions are absolutely beautiful and they really pay attention to detail. Thank you everyone so much

They allow layman preachers to arrive in from the street and ram religion down your throat instead of food! This I can assure leaves a bad taste in the mouth as well as being uncomfortable. Would not recommend, kids were frightened when we witnessed what seemed to be an exorcism (hands on head) event taking place with religious chants.

Called into loughshore hotel as we had been out for a drive as it was a lovely night. There were a few families in having dinner but it was quiet enough. I had the pâté and my partner had chicken salad. The pate and toast, salad, and chutney was lovely, and it was a nice portion. The salad had plenty of chicken and the salad was nice and crispy and fresh. For main courset I chose the scampi and 'fat' chips The scampi was in a light crispy batter and was scrumptious and the chips were to die for. They were the best chips I have ever tasted, apart from the chips my Mum used to make when I was a lot younger. I would go back just for the chips alone. My partner had the roast beef with peppercorn sauce, mashed and roast potato and cauliflower and broccoli he enjoyed it and left a clean plate. For dessert I had sticky toffee pudding which was well presented and was lovely. My partner had ice cream chocolate, vanilla and strawberry, which he enjoyed. The staff were quite attentive making sure everything was OK, lovely atmosphere in the place. I will be back.

Me and my partner stayed on Easter Monday and got the deal for £109 for us both to stay,a 2 course eve meal and breakfast next morning, all in our we were very impressed with the hotel and will be back again very soon.the only down side was the choice meals available to us in the deal although we got the roast beef which was cooked perfectly a bit more of a variety would of been great but I'm still giving it 5 stars

Yesterday we had the sad occasion of having a memorial service for my brother Richie Bunting who passed away in France in November. After the service we had a buffet in the annex at the Loughshore Hotel. Firstly I would like to thank Lily in the Events department, for her help and advice. It's not every day you have to arrange this sort of thing so having someone there to give you help and advice takes away a lot of the pressure. Secondly I would like to thank the Chef and his staff for the beautiful buffet they prepared for us, it was delicious. And last but not least I would like to thank our waiter Alan who set out the food and served us drinks etc, he was charming and polite and was there for anything we needed. Thank you.

We visited here a while back for a wedding and really enjoyed ourselves. The price was reasonable and food was great also, better than we expected. Room was cosy and clean and great option of movies to watch for a small fee.
