This hotel was an absolute perfect stay. Everything was top notch. Location made things convenient to walk to including Carmel's Barnyard shopping area, dining options, customer service, management focus, and how quiet the hotel was considering its location. The rooms were perfect. And best of all, this hotel is truly dog friendly. The Tuesday night get together on the patio with everyone's dogs was a lot of fun. The Carmel Mission Inn is our go-to place to stay when we come to the Monterey Bay. Easily a five-star and highly recommended place to stay.

We booked a certain type of room, with 3 amenities we favored. The room we received was the worst on the floor, in the elevator lobby, overlooking the bright turquoise awning the length of the pool. View of shopping center and Chevron station-lighted 24/7. Total opposite of booking details. Hotel staff blamed Hotels.com for the flip-flop. We should have left at that point. Another room, with only 1 of the amenities we booked was 'found' the next day. The hotel wasn't busy. Male desk staff acted entitled and haughty with every interaction, like they were too good for this job. Not at all welcoming or agreeable.
