What an absolute shambles. Let me just start by saying we were the only people in the restaurant so it's not like they were rushed off their feet. Firstly, the waitress took our orders, there was no veggie roast option so she said the chef would make us veggie roasties, vegetables & gravy. James ordered a starters and the lamb and she even asked how he wanted it cooked. When the food got brought to the table they brought him Salmon, no starters. So he had to watch us all eat our dinner (There were no roasties even though the waitress said this was possible) whilst they prepared his starter. Then as we had all finished they brought his meat & potatoes (he had finished his food before they brought the vegetables because they took 20 minutes to bring them after serving his meat) along with Ralph's dessert without asking anyone else if they wanted dessert, meaning Lois had to eat hers alone. Not the ordeal you want on a hangover! They did however give us 15% off the bill, and the food was nice, just a shame we couldn't all eat together.
The staff at the hotel were all very friendly and helpful. My room was okay but it is not in my opinion a 'boutique' specification. All clean and tidy, plenty of space and the location is excellent for central Cardiff. The rates were good and it's worth including the breakfast buffet. I would stay again but perhaps as for a higher spec room.
We stayed in a suite.. was lovely, spacious, comfortable. Great hotel, great location as t was only a 5 minute walk to the Stadium, the staff were lovely and helpful and the food at dinner looked amazing. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel if you want to be right in the middle of Cardiff with easy access to the city and the castle.
We recently had our sons wedding party at No 10 Cathedral Rd. It was amazing the place, the food and the staff. Jordan the manager, Jan Lima and all the staff could not have been any better or helpful. They made it a wonderful experience.
No more than 15 mins from cardiff central on foot. Smart, small hotel. Friendly service. My room was upgraded: 4 poster bed, desk and chair in alcove, smart bathroom. Good wifi. It was pretty noisy - I think there was an event on perhaps in the neighbouring park, which went on very late. Didn't have breakfast (around £10 I think) as I had to leave early. There were a few people eating there in the evening and a few tables of people drinking after work outside in the sun. Would recommend.
Went in here for lunch on a Saturday having previously been in and had a good meal. However, appears there has been some changes for the worse. Ordered a drink and found the girl serving us to be extremely rude (young, blonde). Despite this we decided to stay for food. Food took quite a long time to come which didn't really bother us as weren't in a hurry but when it arrived it was bland and tasteless. The risotto was particularly awful. The same girl behind the bar took our orders and did not know the menu what so ever - asked her basic questions like what bread the sandwiches come on and she got it wrong etc. The staff need training and some basic manners wouldn't go a miss. Note to the manager - I was considering the venue for my wedding but this experience well and truly put me off and I've now booked cathedral 73 up the road.
The room was very spacious and had a great bathroom. The restaurant downstairs is great and the brownies are delicious. The staff was very friendly and this one guys recommendations for places to eat, drink and regarding their menu were always on point. The best hotel I've ever stayed at.
Stayed here for two nights for a wedding and thoroughly enjoyed it. The hotel itself is lovely, our room (a suite) was very comfortable and spacious with a great bath/shower. Complimentary bottles water, tea coffee and biscuits was a good touch. The staff who served the wedding party were excellent. Couldn't do enough and constantly happy despite the long shift they had to work. The food was excellent! Morning breakfast was also a buffet style with hot and cold options which was good. My only complaint is that the management complained to customers about other customer issues which I found unprofessional. Be warned parking is limited at this hotel so unless you arrive early you are left with street parking only.
This has to be Cardiff's most cozy hotel. Anne at the front desk made us feel very welcome. The room we were given was nice and clean, but maybe a bit small. Good breakfast and perfect service. We will come back for sure!
What a wonderful surprise this little hotel was. We were made so welcome by the fantastic happy helpful staff. The rooms were excellent and the food was super amazing. The wedding was perfect thanks to Jolyons at # 10
