Clean, tidy and the shower was beautiful, powerful and hot. The location was perfect with only a two minute walk to get right in to the city centre. Opposite the building is a small coffee shop with great coffee and a good price. I do not recognise some of these pictures so it’s clear that accommodation type varies significantly. Apartment 21 St Andrews palace is obviously student accommodation as shown in some of the pictures (desks, chairs, green shower cubicle, bed built in to book shelves). There was no sense of homely comfort and luxury as some of the pictures suggest. Parking: Any stay over 6 hrs (up to 24 hrs) at the NCP car park costs an eye watering £24 however with a discount voucher provided by the hosts this comes down to just £10 so make sure you collect a voucher. The bed was truly terrible. The mattress was lumpy and I could feel every spring. I had to sleep on top of the duvet folded in two in order to offer some comfort. Because I did not get in until 1.30am it was too late to speak to anyone about it or arrange for a change. I have to be fair to the hosts and point out that they did not have chance to remedy the situation.
The room seemed lovely and clean on arrival however we later discovered that the floor was covered in crumbs and hadn’t been cleaned properly. We then noticed that all of the dishes in the cupboards were dirty and we had to wash them before being able to make food or have a cup of tea. We tried to use the tv and found that all the freeview channels were not working as well as no WiFi. We were also not able to get any signal in the room at all, this was not their fault however we had no access to the WiFi so we couldn’t use our phones. It was like staying in a card board box. I had to go outside to make a phone call to complain about the poor cleanliness of the room and not being able to access any tv and WiFi. I understood that they couldn’t do anything about the WiFi and TV because it was New Years Eve but I was told that he would “make a note” of the cleanliness of the room and they didn’t send a cleaner round to sort the room out for us. When we returned home we tried to get in touch numerous times about our poor experience and they kept of replying with ‘we’re still in the process of looking at the complaint’. Nothing was done about it in the end and we gave up on carrying the complaint forward. I would NOT recommend Park Lane to anyone, it was an overall really poor experience.
Wow! I stayed here on December 28th, with 3 granddaughters. Booking and self check in was easy, with great directions. Parking in the NCP car park was just a short stroll away. The 2 bedroom apartment was spacious, spotless and the decor / furnishings fantastic and comfortable. Location wise, the apartment was ideal - across the road from Winter Wonderland and a few minutes walk from the main shopping centre. We had a wonderful stay and thank you A Space in the City for a great, professional service.
Well, you stay away to SLEEP.... although the location was excellent, the reason you stay away is to sleep and for this reason we've given the rating we have as the sleep experience was very poor. The mattress was lumpy and the springs sticking in ( studio)11) which meant we didn't sleep. Given the fact we live in the next town of Chepstow, we had chosen these apts for the locations... having said that you still need to be able to sleep!. Shower was tiny and the bed seemed very small too.... the location didn't make up for the poor quality of sleep which was very disappointing and easily remedied by a new mattress or topper.
Very nice location, extremely convenient to visit the city. And the appartment itself is great, and the amenities provided are great. However the service was very poor as we had two poor experiences. We had problems with the wifi, which resulted in us being sent a long list of long codes to try, wasting a long time and did not work. We then called and left a message on the understanding that we would be called back about this as soon as they could but never heard back. Second issue was with the cleanliness of the bathroom on arrival.
A really good central located hotel perfect for business users really comfortable and cheap to considering its size and where it’s best is the fun getting into room it has crystal maze door locks and safe codes 😂
