Great Experience

I booked my parents and uncle/aunt into the riverside and they thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Breakfast was amazing, location was also great and the bed was huge. People was also friendly.

A super little hotel tucked away on the outskirts of Hout Bay. Very easy to find, just follow the road signs for World of Birds. It has enclosed & secure grounds with easy parking. The extensive grounds are a mix of trees & open grass, all have a hint of natural rustic rather than a show garden. The hotel is a traditional Cape Dutch, the room we had was a large high ceiling with king sized bed, well furnished in the period style of the house, table with chairs & also arm chairs & lots of storage space. Big well equipped bathroom with twin wash basins. Shower was good but the need to balance the hot & cold was a bit tricky. Breakfast was excellent, included full continental & cooked, the cooked was freshly cooked to order. Staff were super friendly & couldn't do enough for you. You need to be dog friendly as six & a half delightful lumps of fur are waiting to welcome you, assuming they are awake that is.

Horrible sauf le petit déjeuner

Établissement très vieillot ne ressemble pas du tout aux photos, pas de clim dans la chambre, odeur noseabondes à l’intérieur de l’an chambre, salle d’eau en très mauvais etat. Télé toute petite enfin bref hôtel à éviter surtout vu le prix. On a passé une nuit et on était content de repartir.

Nervig

Ich hatte 2 Hotelzimmer gebucht (keine Lodge). Bei Ankunft waren unsere Zimmer nicht frei, wir mussten in zwei Lodges. Dort war es kalt, die Lodges entsprachen nicht der urspr. Zimmerbuchung, der TV ging nicht (und konnte auch nicht repariert werden) und das Internet war langsam. Man sagte uns, dass wir am Samstag (am 4. Urlaubstag) unsere Zimmer beziehen könnten. Am Samstag zeigte man uns nach dem Frühstück unsere Zimmer, die nur noch gesäubert werden müssten. Als wir nach unserem Tagesausflug wieder im Hotel ankamen, bekamen wir unsere Zimmer wieder nicht! Wir sollten in die Treehouse Lodge ziehen. Dies haben wir abgelehnt!!! Auf Nachfrage, was denn nun mit unseren urspr. gebuchten Zimmern sei, meinte man nur, diese wären nicht bezugsbereit. In einem der Zimmer waren aber doch Gäste eingezogen. Da wir keine weitere Nacht in einer Lodge verbringen wollten, gab man uns andere Zimmer im Haupthaus. Auf das Frühstück muss man teilw. bis zu 1 Std. warten (auch wenn man nur ein gekochtes Ei möchte). Die Bettwäsche hatte teilw. Brandflecken und andere Abnutzungsspuren. Am Samstag wurde am Anwesen eine Hochzeit gefeiert, man konnte sich daher nicht überall am Gelände aufhalten. Das Hotelpersonal war wegen der Hochzeitsvorbereitungen kaum ansprechbar, alle waren hektisch und leicht gestresst. Ein Ausflug, den wir über die Rezeption buchen wollten, wurde vergessen zu buchen. Einfach nur ärgerlich. Schöne Gartenanlage, die von sechs lieben Hunden bewacht wird.
