Location is pretty nice, walkable but little far away from Longstreet area. Kloofstreet area is pretty close and there is plenty of nice restaurants. Otherwise hotel was great – room was clean and spacious.

Pleasant swim during our summer stay and started the day with a great breakfast served. Rooms, including the bath, was spacious. Staff were kind and accommodating. Great for a couples weekend retreat.

My husband and I spent a night at Dunkley House. We found it to be very clean and neat. Staff were very pleasant. Rooms were amazing and the entire setup was just absolutely perfect. The layout and style of the bedroom and on suite with the little garden was breathtaking. I highly recommend a stay at Dunkley House

We have stayed at Dunkley House four times in the past the last time being three years ago, previously we were happy with all that was on offer and even made that known on Trip Advisor. Unfortunately our latest stay proved to be totally the opposite, the place is in need of a total makeover (a lick of paint would help) bath towels were worn and frayed and were not matched, sink and shower taps were difficult to operate. Staff and friends took over the swimming pool area drinking alcohol in late afternoon/early evening, leaving very little space for guests, breakfast was not up the standard we had come to expect. On return home I mailed the General Manager/Guest Relations and his response was to agree with the points I raised, he would deal with the staff, I requested that he should consider a refund as compensation,he never responded even after three mails. We will never go to Dunkley House again and not recommend it as we done in the past

Stunning breakfasts. Clean linen and great location. Right in the heart of Cape Town. We stayed in the old historical section while my son stayed in the modern section. Older section was well maintained and spotless. The ladies that work there were polite and helpful. KC was an exceptional host. Couldn't have asked for a better stay with great value for money!

Really great staff. Very sweet and service minded. The room was very modern and luxurious. Very delicious breakfast with home made bread and omelets, egg, and pancakes made on request. Guest house has great location close to town while in a very quiet street.

The property in close to the CBD however its quite and peaceful with a whole lot of convenience. The view of Table Mountain from Gordon Street (Rd where the property is located) is definitely a plus!!! Just few issues though:The room we occupied was facing an swimming, of course this will usually be a wow except that because of water restrictions pools have not been filled which is understandable, the issue though is the cleanliness.....the pool had a bit of dirty water and leaves all over, that isn't a pretty site when you wake up in the morning (or any time of day for that matter). The room itself looked clean however the bed was very poorly made!! Not to mention a torn sheet. Further, there was a sliding partition wall separating the 'lounge(sh)/kitchenette' area from the bedroom which would have been a really nice wall excepting that I felt so nervous whenever closing it because it looked like it was going to fall off anytime. Now these are the few things that I somewhat tolerated but the real deal breaker was when I couldn't sleep Saturday night...well morning actually (1 am), because of other occupants/visitors (assumption) that were very loud...I mean SUPER LOUD!! Having read the pamphlet stating that there are staff members living in the property....surely someone must have done something about the noise!!Looking past all of that, this is otherwise a good affordable place close to all amenities.......

Nice, clean comfortable yet homely space. Nice breakfast as well. The staff is friendly and unobtrusive . We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and would book again if the came another opportunity to do so.

This place does not care about you, only your money. They never make any mention of the parking issue, and then you car gets broken into. Their only response is sorry this happens, report it to the police. This doesn't help the huge unnecessary expense that you now sit with which I feel could be completely avoided if they made the effort. I have even had to change my review as I could not copy paste their useless response to this post. What is a review if it is not honest and transparent.

We had relatively long stay at this hotel and could not wait to leave. The beds were comfy and the breakfast was great but it was slightly unclean with cockroaches and ants and there was a real feeling if insecurity. The area is slightly dodgy although there are some nice parts around. Our car was broken into. The staff were not very communicable and were obstructive when they did not pick us up from the airport. Laundry also took 3 days and most of the socks are missing or got someone else's. The swimming pool although full was not clean. I would not recommend this hotel or area for a family as they felt very insecure.
