Some of the staff was really friendly but when I asked to dine outside with my wife I was told I couldn't, but as soon as other couples from other nationalities asked for a table outside they were immediately seated. Soon after they noticed I was seeing this they then offered me a table outside. I felt discriminated and therefore will never comeback to this hotel neither will i recommend it.

Great time, quiet hotel even with construction going on.

My husband and I both have bites all over. It was the only hotel we stayed at. Several experts concluded it was bedbug bites.

Under construction but still very relaxing. The staff was great! Everyone greeted you and was checking on you. The Westinghouse will be very nice once the construction is done, I like that they are putting balconies in all rooms. Clean beach

Overall our stay was pleasant. The staff was very helpful and polite.

Hotel is first on the strip.. Nice quiet place. Pools are nice beach area also nice and pleasant. Staff also very cordial.you can catch the bus right in front of it. No complaints at all.

Hotel is just beginning a long overdue renovation.

Sunglasses stolen by staff, cellphone stolen by staff, hotel rooms all mixed up on check in. No one helped until 2 hours of complaining. No compensation AT ALL for lost time and lost items. Exteremely disappiinted. Used to love going to Mexico. This was our 4th time there, 1st in Cancun. Never going back at least to Cancun! The Westin did not offer any sort of compensation for any of our issues.

Hotel had a water problem (maybe because of ongoing construction). So we couldn't flash the toilet & take a shower during the daytime or something in the night. When we couldn't take a shower, hotel opened the shower room at spa area. Hotel staffs were very nice and friendly. If the construction is completed, this hotel is good for stay.

We lost water for whole day. Not good and no elevators as well.

This resort is a great place to stay. The water (beach) is perfect temperature and it's clean. The hotel staff's are super friendly. We were there on our honeymoon and they upgraded our room from deluxe to royal.

Disappointed that the hotel was under construction, it was very noisy the entire time we were there

The beach at the Westin is lovely, with clean white sand and clear Caribbean waters. The hotel buildings are fairly nice--neither spectacular nor awful. Standard mid-level resort feel. The disappointing aspect of my stay was the constant hustle: everyone always trying to get money off you. Even at check in the staff tried some silly run-around; we had reserved at "deluxe" room facing the lagoon, and when we arrived they tried to get us to pay more money for an upgrade to what sounded like the "deluxe" room was supposed to be. We refused, the lady stepped away for 30 seconds, and when she returned she said "I spoke to my manager and we can upgrade your room for free." Sorry, that's nonsense. She gave us the room we had reserved. This runs all throughout the entire resort. Staff arranging for taxis tell you that the public bus (much, much cheaper) will take 2 hours, when it really takes 30 minutes. Everyone tries to get you to book tours, no matter what you're asking about. Everyone trying to get tips and more tips off of very overpriced food, drinks, etc. I understand people trying to get as much money out of tourists as possible, but it crosses the line at the Westin. Again, the beach is great. The restaurants are good (if overpriced). The pools are nice. The location is close to the airport and fine if all you want is the resort--if you want to see other parts of Cancun or get buses to Playa del Carmen, Tulum, etc. you're in trouble: everything is far, far away.

The room was clean but smelled of mold. All of the linens smelled of mold so bad that we had to cover them with our clothes to sleep. we were also disappointed in the view. We paid for an upgrade to an ocean view room. The room faced the ocean but the view was 90% blocked by the tops of palm trees. This hotel has some great staff and really great bones. The staff in the restaurants were all awesome and the food was great. They just need to get the mold out of the linens and the smell out of the rooms.

Id rate my experience a 3.5 to 4. I got the ocean view and got bumped up to the royal beach side. Nice size room with a bathtub and separate shower. And a big balcony with a great view at the beach and sunrise. It is in the beginning of the hotel zone and lonelier. Better for more private beach and less bussy pool and plenty of lounging areas. The hot tub is for royal beach side only but they dont really check so dont be scared to go. The bad thing was that I arrived early and check in was until 3pm. Getting in from the long ride and in the heat with limited restaurant choices at 11am did suck. But the food is pretty good, it is pricey and I dont know if the have all inclusive but I didnt see a lot of waiters or bars so not really worth it here if it is. I got lucky and my mini fridge worked so i bought some snacks and drinks at that super store in the downtown zone definitely worth checking out that store. One problem was the bathroom door was hard to open because it seems it expands and gets stuck on the floor. And the room temp is really cold not sure but i heard it needs to be at a set temperature otherwise the floor gets wet because of their weather. But i Id say give it a try not horrible but not the best. Its cool and private.

Close to the beach, far from everything. This hotel is one of the first on the hotel strip so it is a long bus ride to anywhere. For the price of a room I thought we'd at least have a refrigerator and a microwave, not just a "mini-bar".

The hotel is getting remodeled. But it's dated,,, and need a mayor fixer upper!!! Over all the beach is good and recommended!!! Hopefully when they finish remodeling,, it comes out good!!!

Plenty of chairs and umbrellas, David was attentive, all staff was prompt.

I had read a few reviews that were negative, so was worried (as I am picky about hotels). I was pleasantly surprised. The pools were clean and the service was excellent. They were prompt and attentive with any requests. Overall was a great experience. We stayed in an ocean view room and I think those rooms may be better than the standard rooms.

Food.staff was very nice. Beach, pool also clean and nice. Bus and store near by Bedroom was clean But bathroom had bed smell. No refrigerator.no microwave Coffee maker didn't work.
