Close to the beach, far from everything. This hotel is one of the first on the hotel strip so it is a long bus ride to anywhere. For the price of a room I thought we'd at least have a refrigerator and a microwave, not just a "mini-bar".

The hotel is getting remodeled. But it's dated,,, and need a mayor fixer upper!!! Over all the beach is good and recommended!!! Hopefully when they finish remodeling,, it comes out good!!!

Plenty of chairs and umbrellas, David was attentive, all staff was prompt.

I had read a few reviews that were negative, so was worried (as I am picky about hotels). I was pleasantly surprised. The pools were clean and the service was excellent. They were prompt and attentive with any requests. Overall was a great experience. We stayed in an ocean view room and I think those rooms may be better than the standard rooms.

Food.staff was very nice. Beach,pool also clean and nice. Bus and store near by Bedroom was clean But bathroom had bed smell. No refrigerator.no microwave Coffee maker didn't work.

it was amazing, we got a room upgrade due that it was my daughter first time in cancun and the room had a balcony view to the lagoon, once there everyone was very attentive specially a waiter named Moises that gave us excellent services always with a smile and also selena at the concierge awesome attitude very helpful

The Westin Resort & Spa provided us a relaxing environment with excellent service. We went to the fine dining restaurant our first 2 days since it far exceeded our expectations and we got to have local cuisine without having to leave the hotel. We preferred the location and setting which is away from the touristy areas of the hotel zone. Our room was on the 1st floor facing the lagoon which provided a nice transition from spending the days at the beach and pool areas. The only opportunity I saw was that the bathrooms needed upgrading, nonetheless, the staff kept our room very, very clean through out our 5 night stay. The wait staff were very accommodating and my daughter enjoyed the buffet breakfasts while I ordered off the menu.

It was a great location the food was ok. The room was a bit outdated but they are remodeling and are going to be in construction for a few years.

Staff were excellent. Breakfast buffet 2 thumbs up. Hotel is right on beach in quiet spot. Hotel was clean. A bit outdated but the location is perfect imo. Its the first hotel on strip but it takes no time to ride bus or cab anywhere. Heard lots of bad reviews from others about this hotel so was kind of hesitant but after staying there would def stay again. I give it 4/5 all day long. The people that complained either had horrible experiences which can happen anywhere, or are just really hard to please. Either way they set the bar really low for me so I was suprised when it wasnt that bad at all, and in fact an excellent almost hidden gem for the price.

We had a great one week stay at the Westin Spa and Resort, Cancun. Very friendly helpful staff. We were upgraded to a ground floor room with walk out patio to the beach which made all the difference as upper floor rooms had no balconies.

The hotel is clean and comfortable. The double beds are a bit small, but OK. The staff is friendly and the food is fair. There is a good buffet served during breakfast for around 15$ U.S. The location is on one end of the Zona Hotelera (Hotel Zone) making it quiet but not as accessible to most shops which are located on the northern end of the Zona. But, if you are looking for a comfortable and quiet stay, with a great view of the lagoon and the sea, far from the masses, this is the place.

These people do not care about whir customers. Take your money elsewhere.

Rooms are disgusting, hotel needs to upgrade. Bathrooms have a foul odor. A/C unit was dusty and loud. Towel service for pool/beach area was awful, they give you a card key to exchange for towels and 3 out of our 4 day stay, they didn't have towels! Paid $2300 for a dump! Paint drops everywhere, laps in the rooms that were falling apart. The electronic lock died so we were locked out of our rooms.

Overall it was just ok but we will try another hotel next time we come to Cancun. Our king-bed room (pre-paid) was not available at check-in. We had to accept a room with two queen beds. Poolside service was very poor. Beach service was better. Facility is definitely showing its age and hotel management is not keeping up. Concierge desk is more focused on selling excursions.

Our experience at the resort was great. The staff was very accommodating. They suggested excellent restaurants and day excursions. I had the BEST massage on the beach and my husband enjoyed the day spa. The resort is a bit old. Could use some updating....

Horrible experience at the Westin. First day we checked in, while getting dressed, someone came into our room. How does a hotel assign 2 different guest the same room. Our privacy was violated and we didn't feel safe after, always had to put on dead bolt. Rooms was dirty and smelly and bathtub had a red ring looking like blood (see pic). Toiletries in our room was almost empty on day we checked in. Excursion lady, Ana lack knowledge, very rude, unorganized and couldn't find the scuba diving tour we were offered the day before. So slow and made us missed our massage appointment and we ended up booking the tour on our own that was cheaper than what hotel offered. Complained to manager (Mauricio) about this and all he said was "she's new and probably needs to go back to training". How does Westin have these employees representing their name. We asked for late check out since we were attending a timeshare day we were leaving. Manager confirmed it was done and when I called the front desk to check the next day, front desk didn't show any notes about this. All staff was inconsistent, one says one thing but don't notate in system so we were always arguing with them. Last day we checked out, we didn't receive 20% discount on food/drinks as promised by concierge. Manager didn't see that note in system and wouldn't honor the discount and we argued with them. Finally after 30 mins, they realized they completely missed that note and finally gave us discount.

Very friendly and helpful. Great hotel. New carpet in halls would increase the value of this hotel ten fold as this is the only thing that keeps this hotel from being a 5 star.

I had read a few reviews that were negative, so was worried (as I am picky about hotels). I was pleasantly surprised. The pools were clean and the service was excellent. They were prompt and attentive with any requests. Overall was a great experience. We stayed in an ocean view room and I think those rooms may be better than the standard rooms.

nice hotel but too old

relaxing stay in a quiet setting

The Westin Resort & Spa provided us a relaxing environment with excellent service.
