Resort is very large and on the beach and in a good location. Good food at all loctions within the resort and good drinks at all the bars. The staff at the resort, front desk, bell boys, concierge, maids, security, restaurants and bars were very helpful and friendly.
This is my favorite resort! I go every year (past 10 year)with my sisters and mother. It is so easy and lots of fun activities. The staff is very helpful and friendly!!! You can view the ocean from all rooms. We have not had a bad room yet.
Very good accomodations, well maintained with friendly employees. All Inclusive program needs some tweaking to be fair for consumers. Easy access to other restuarants and shopping, even downtown. No worries.
Sylvia the house keeper for room 5350,Luis Munoz, Gabriela at Hacienda Sisal, the wait staff at the pools-Pedro Garrido, Patricio, Miguel, Mario, Rafael, Luis Cano, Anthony, Michael, the wait staff in La Veranda- Gustavo, Samuel, Carlos, Alejandro, Jonny, Irving were all exceptional.
I’m a visitor to the CanCun area 3xs a year. The employees at The Royal Sands are the best at any 5 star resort in the whole Q.Roo state. I brought my teen for the first time & she thought I was a rockstar because of the treatment by the employees. Bartenders Patricio (Pato), Miguel, Julio & Jose are very welcoming & eager to have conversations in any language. The effort they show is hard to beat. The wait staff at the Hacienda Sisal, a resort restaurant, can challenge waiters in any fine dining restaurant. They are professional & friendly. Luis & Jesus receive high marks, and easily make said restaurant the best restaurant in the entire city of Cancun. It’s not even close. If you want authentic Mexican cuisine at the highest standard, no matter where you stay, you must eat at Hacienda Sisal. Brunch is only on Sundays, & after finally experiencing it there, I will never miss it again.
The Royal Sands is an amazing complex. The staff are always pleasant and helpful. Nice restaurants and bars as well as an on-site market. The rooms are very large and comfortable. We've always been impressed with how well the Sands is built. Very sturdy, thick walls and large decks. Great for reducing noise and giving you a sense of privacy. Excellent daily maid service. Other positives: An amazing Spa; the beach is protected from solicitors; there's an on-site market/deli; great restaurants on-site (especially Hacienda Sisal); a shuttle that runs between the Sands and other Royal resorts is a nice perk; Kukulcan Mall right next door; walking distance to La Isla Shopping Village. Cons: * Time-share salesmen are pushy if you give them any of your time. Be careful. * Patrons "reserve" beach/pool chairs at sun up. So if you go to the pool or beach after about 9:00am, you probably won't find a seat (this was the case for us in week 15/16). The Sands needs to enforce the rules (which say you can't reserve seats). Many times we'd see beach palapas unoccupied all day with no one (except their towels) occupying them. * The Royal Resorts app isn't quite ready for prime time. Great concept but daily charges appear, disappear and reappear. NIce when it works as it gives you visibility to spending by room, by person, etc.
We stayed in a Junior Suite Ocean View. We had a small patio with no chairs. We didn't spend much time in the room anyway so this didn't bother us. The room and hotel were very clean! The hotel also purifies their water which was great! Jose Gonzalez in the pool bar Phase II was absolutely wonderful and helped make the trip even better!
This was one of the best trips I have ever been on. Each morning having breakfast at Veranda is a perfect start to the day and we were always greeted with smiles and positivity by everyone, most especially Alberto, Ruben, and Marco. Our service at the bars and pools was excellent and I would like to thank Gabriel Chi and Rafael Hernandez for taking such good care of us. Each day we enjoyed the many activities that were offered and appreciated the enthusiasm of the activities staff Luis Garcia, Christian, and Richie. We received outstanding service and gourmet cuisine at El conquistador, and we would like to thank our servers Wilberth and Jose. We would also like to thank Carlos, Sergio, and Miguel for our wonderful dinner at Hacienda Sisal- the mezcal tasting was my favorite part! I must also mention a thank you to Gerardo, Noices, Manuel, Rodolfo, and Luis Cano. We can’t wait to return to Royal Sands and see you all again!! - The Kirschling Family
Royal resorts in Cancun / playa de carmon bring us back every year. they are truly as good as they sound. Every aspect of it meets our expectations. This is the first time we did all inclusive, and we LOVED the experiment. We will do it again.
Our 10th great trip to the Royal Sands. Always Great! The food and service was top notch and the room was very clean. We stayed an a room which had just been updated and it was very nice. The pool bar was great and all inclusive was totally worth it.
