I have been travelled by with work a lot and for me this is the go to hotel. I’ve had everything from rooms to full suites to apartments. All top shelf mod cons and great beds. Should flourish and close to everything
Very comfortable room; nice coffee maker, friendly/efficient staff, and good room service. Great TV with free good quality movies. The only problem I had was trying to use a computer in the 'business centre' - neither seemed to be working, and the staff were too busy supporting conference delegates to assist me. The breakfast food was quite good (can get crowded). I didn't like the noisy music in the foyer and the entrance/exits but I am over 50. The political paparazzi theme is quite groovy. I stayed from Sunday to Saturday (six nights) and it was definitely more relaxing when the conference crowds went home.
I stay here regularly when I’m in Canberra, rooms pleasant, staff friendly. The rooms themselves can be hit and miss but overall a nice hotel is redommebd to those needing convenience. The coffee machine in each room is a great addition. Thanks QT
Love the politics theme intertwined all thoughout the hotel. Spacious, clean rooms. Balconies that actually open to allow fresh air. Central location with lots of great shopping and restaurants nearby. Friendly service. Great cocktail menu. Breakfast was superb (but get there early if you want the fresh fruit). Will become my regular bed whilst in Canberra from now on.
Rooms are always great but need better ventilation, close to shops/cafes but I prefer to dine in. In room dining is quick, just not a lot of options, opted for a salad after driving in from Sydney before heading downstairs for dinner. Dined with a friend in the restaurant (espresso martinis are always great!), coming in for the last 'seating session' of the night we felt as if we were being rushed through the ordering (of entrée, main and dessert), felt a bit pressured to have our meals and head out, and wrong drinks were bought to the table (I ordered a belvedere and ended up with a beer, but was resolved eventually). Had the buffet breakfast the next morning, always great. Only real issue was after coming back from a wedding, I was left standing at the reception desks for about 15 minutes (at around 1am) because my key wouldn't work to get in the room...but these things happen from time to time.
My husband and I have visited Canberra for a family birthday and decided to stay in QT after a wonderful experience there a year ago. Unfortunately, it did not start off or end that well. Upon arrival, I asked about parking and was informed that it was full, however, due to my obvious health condition, I was told that we could park in one of the underground disabled parks. I gratefully accepted this offer, only to find them both occupied by large 4 wheel drives which were not displaying disabled permits. Fortunately, a car was leaving so we just took their space. We went up to our room which was on 11th floor and had a very nice view. We then went down to the bar to meet some family members and we decided to order a club sandwich and fries. After waiting for 45 minutes for the food, we followed it up, only to be told that the staff member who had taken the order, had not recorded the table number that we had been assigned on the docket, so the kitchen did not know who to deliver the food to. We were told that the food would be out immediately and I was offered a complimentary drink. The food did not arrive for a further 15 minutes. The bed was not comfortable- the mattress was very soft and sagged towards the middle. We were out for all of the next day and returned to the hotel around 10:30 pm. We were not able to access the car park using our swipe card and had to use the intercom for assistance. We managed to find a park and entered the lift to go up to our room. Once again, our swipe card failed so we went to Reception and were advised they had accidentally been deactivated. The cards were re activated and we were able to go up to our room. The following morning, we went to a nearby cafe, The Cupping Room for breakfast. We had also had breakfast at this cafe the previous morning. Great coffee and food. We returned to the hotel to checkout and I was informed that the room had been prepaid, which was correct, but there was a charge for parking - also correct and also for breakfast that morning - not correct. I advised the staff member that we did not have breakfast at the hotel on either morning and it was an error. He insisted that it was part of a large group, and I explained again that it was not us. He seemed very hesitant and I even offered to show him the receipt from the cafe. He finally accepted that it was a mistake and removed the charge. I advised Reception of all the issues we had encountered and the care factor was zero. We only stayed 2 nights and so many things went wrong that I will not stay here again.
I always stay with QT. Best restaurant and bars, best food, best views, and best service.Love the in room movies and the great reception service and car parking. A new feature that I tried this time was booking a package rate that included some meals - amazing!
I am not sure if this hotel is considered well situated for Canberra - I had a conference so I stayed here and it does have parking even if we had to pay for it. Arrival was great and easy check in. Our room wasn't bad the bed was comfortable but the room was not the largest I have stayed in and there was nowhere for our suitcases except open on the floor. In addition there was no safe in the room - when you have passports etc to lock up this is not good. The bathroom was small and only one could be in it at a time, it wasn't well ventilated and steamed up pretty quickly when some showered. Water pressure in the shower was pathetic and we had a flood when the shower just stopped draining the water away - admittedly they did come and sort it our pretty quickly. With it being some years since I last stayed in Canberra I have no comparison for this hotel but I am pretty noncommittal about whether I would recommend it or stay here again.
Stayed at the QT for the second time last week. The rooms are interesting and a good size with balconies and good views. Really comfortable beds and new bathrooms. For me the best part of the hotel is the bar and restaurant, great food and service with great atmosphere. Breakfast provides a really good choice and is better than the average hotel breakfast. I travel to Canberra regularly for work and have stayed in many of the hotels in the centre of Canberra, the QT is by far the best. I would recommend it for both work and leisure, even try it for a meal or drink if you are in New Acton
Brief stay whilst in Canberra on business. Perfect location with a pleasant walk to the office. Beautiful front entry with friendly efficient staff. The room was lovely and spacious with a comfortable bed and modern furnishings. The Nespresso machine was the best! I didn't have time to eat breakfast in the restaurant and the breakfast menu for room service had absolutely no vegan options. Will definitely be back.
