Aparthotel Adagio Caen Centre

The Adagio is in a nice location and has good amenities. The beds are a bit hard and the chairs aren't very comfortable. Truthfully, there isn't room for a comfortable chair. They have a thermostat in the room but it doesn't seem to do anything. The temperature in the room varied with the outdoor temperature, but stayed at a moderate level. The cooking facilities allowed for economical eating. So, it was possible to save a lot of money. It is an easy stroll to a mall, the Sunday market and downtown Caen. If you enjoy walking, it is possible to visit most of the major sights on foot. All in all, it was a pleasant stay.

If you are looking for crash and one night sleep just as I did it can works - nice staff and good breakfast, big rooms. The bathroom was terrible because it didn’t had anything to cover the box, so it made all the bathroom wet and messy. Its an apparthotel so don’t expect luxury, only a good place to stay for one night.

We stayed in the larger 1 bedroom apt, as we were traveling with our teenaged son. The Murphy bed in the living room was perfect for him. The bed in the bedroom was very hard, but i was able to sleep comfortably. The kitchen was well-appointed with just about everything you could need. Only real complaint is there was no maid service, so things started to get a bit messy after day 3! I had read about this is previous reviews, so we tried to be mindful of that. Towel warmer in bathroom was nice. Many restaurants within a short walk, small Cocci Mart and pastry shop just behind hotel. Cocci mart had good selection of wine and snacks. Didn't eat breakfast buffet, but my husband did once and he said it was filling for 13€. My son and I opted for the pastry shop for less than 5€ for both of us to get a cross ain't and coffee. I would stay here again, staff spoke good English and were very friendly.

This hotel is very well located, just a 10 minute walk from the train station, a few minutes walk to the bus/tram stops and about a 20 minute walk to the centre of Caen. Plus there’s a good choice of restaurants nearby and a supermarket. Our apartment was very spacious and extremely well equipped with a lovely view over the river. It was warm, very clean and a perfect base for exploring this area of Normandy. All of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fresh and tasty with a nice choice. We would definitely stay in another one of their apartment hotels.

The Adagio Caen Centre was an excellent hotel for our recent three day stay. The breakfast offered a great variety and was served at 6:30 which allowed us to get out early to visit the area. Our room was clean and neat, perfect for our stay. Our studio room had a fully-equipped kitchenette which would be great for an extended stay or for a family. The laundry facility was available but we did not make use of it. The people at the "Réception" treated us like family and offered us hot appetizers and cider one afternoon when we returned from sight-seeing. Paid parking was available and gated in the back. The hotel is located within a block of a grocery store and within a couple of blocks to a variety of restaurants. We look forward to staying at the Adagio Caen Centre in the future!

The location is close to the train station (a plus for us since we went to different places), and walking distance from the center of town. the room was really nice and confortable. Breakfast was ok (not continental). Some of the staff was helpful and some was less. On the downside, they should clearly state that there is NO housekeeping on the rooms (it is in the fine print of the booking, and not clearly). We found that out when we checked in basically.

situated just outside the lively streets, the aparthotel offers nice spacious rooms with all amenities you need. Breakfast is rather complete and not expensive (7€). Private parking, friendly staff. Isolation from the street could be improved, so ask for a room not on the streetside.

HOTEL ADAGIO - CAEN We chose this location as a stop before our ferry from Cherbourg the next morning. This is quite a smart Hotel in the middle of the town within easy walking distance of restaurants etc. I was not sure what to expect regarding the room as it said Studio, so I was expecting a small room. Was pleasantly surprised to find it was a large modern room with a kitchen and all amenities, ELECTRIC KETTLE (YAY), fridge and crockery etc if you wanted to do your own food. Bathroom was large with walking shower. We were only staying one night and went out to eat in the town that evening. As it was a Saturday night we could park in the street outside and only had to pay the meter until 6pm then it was free for the rest of the night and the next day was Sunday which is also free. The staff were helpful and the amenities were great, we didn’t have breakfast so can’t comment on that. Would definitely stay there again when visiting Caen.

I would stay here again for the easy train station access, the extra space, and the convenient breakfast, but our unexpected room assignment resulted in a smelly stay. A terrible odor from the drain of the bathroom pervaded the entire apartment. We had accepted the offered single bed apartment in lieu of our reserved double bed apt. It was large but the bathroom design was flawed. The large tiled shower room contained the toilet and sink. (Photo) When I took a shower, the toilet and sink showered too. This design resulted in a bathroom that smells like a wet dirty shower drain all the time. The hotel provided a cleaning spray which we applied to the drain, and it smelled better, briefly. Apparently other units have separate toilet rooms and stall showers. Find out which one you're getting.

We stayed here on a short trip to visit Normandy. The room was spacious with a separate living and bedroom area. The room also had a small kitchen, and a separate shower/sink area from the toilet. The hotel had a crib for our two-year old daughter, which was an issue on a different part of the trip at a different hotel. There was plenty of parking as we decided to rent a van and drive up from Paris instead of taking a train. The train station is only a few minute walk to the hotel though. The wifi worked well. The service was the best we encountered at a hotel on our trip, friendly and helpful, even when dealing with us English only speakers. The hotel is located across from the Orne River and across the river was the city center. Plenty of restaurants and shopping within a few minutes walk. Walking out the main doors I got to chuckle at the shuttered National Front headquarters every time.
