We stayed here for 3 nights during the Calgary Stampede. It’s a wonderful place to stay. They had a fridge and tea and coffee making facilities for general use. It was very handy. The hosts are very nice and friendly. It was within walking distance to the Stampede, which was so handy if you need to come home for anything or just come home for rest. We didn’t avail of the breakfast but I’m sure it was superb too.
I felt as though this was "home" in a strange sort of way. I am from Calgary but have lived in the U.S. most of my life. My recent trip to Calgary was to take care of some family affairs. I booked this place based on a mention of its locale in the Mission. Well, how surprised was I when I arrived to find it is located about a block and a half from the Safeway I went to with my Grandmother a "thousand" years ago! And that means it's very close to 4th St. and lots of restaurant opportunities. And it's not far from downtown; and the Elbow River for a nice walk. My room was at the very top of the house and very very comfortable. I think I recall a sign outside that says: "Our house is your house". Very true in my experience. I came and went just as if I lived there.
Really enjoyed the property - really liked the area for staying. Check in was a breese - something the Delta Downtown could learn. Greeting was nice. You do need to carry bags up stairs but I expect that given the historic profile of the property. Location for Stampede would be excellent I am sure. I hate to say much here as I would like to use this property more.
Great location. Friendly hosts. Very comfortable room. We received a free upgrade which was much appreciated. The top room has a balcony and a hot tub. Don't miss the La Boulangerie Bakery Cafe down the street.
We have stayed at Westways many times. They are always welcoming. The rooms are spacious, clean, comfortable and beautifully appointed. We have always felt safe to walk in the neighbourhood and Westways is close to incredible dining options. The breakfasts are delicious and creative. This is our go-to place to stay in Calgary.
I needed a comfortable place to stay, close to some retail areas I was needing to check out, and also a short commute to the location of my next day workshop. This house met my needs and did it with style! I love houses of this vintage, (1912) and own one myself. Fun to see what the owners have done to make the decor so authentic. I was comfortable, had everything I needed, and enjoyed being able to make my own coffee before heading out the door. I also appreciated the off-street parking. Next time I will definitely be making time to stay and enjoy the breakfast, which is optional. It looked and smelled delicious!
Quiet rooms, comfortable beds, friendly hosts, Wifi. They have two small dogs that like sometimes to run, yapping and crashing into the french door that separates their quarters from the guests. Other than that, I very much enjoyed my stay there.
We enjoyed our stay, everything went smoothly. It was close to where we needed to be. Lovely character home. We slept well. The room was well appointed with a bathroom fitted with modern sinks/faucets/shower. People with mobility issues would have a hard time climbing the stairs.
Nice place and nice and helpful staff but they recommended I use the parking out back and so I did. I am awoken the next morning by staff for them to inform me my drivers window has been smashed out. PERFECT right?? Then I find out that my top of the line 900 dollar plus radar detector has been taken. I was for the rest of the stay avoided by the gentleman who checked me in because I could tell he didn’t want to even offer me any kind of discount, let alone a heartfelt apology. Needless to say I was disappointed. I’m sure he felt bad but you can’t say I’m sorry and offer any kind of perc for this travesty placed upon me for no other reason than choosing your business. I’d of been happy with sincerity if money off is out of the question but don’t avoid me. I guess I was raised different but I don’t think my feelings are off base at all. Nice place otherwise though and friendly staff
Great location for my needs and a great room with a fireplace and jetted tub! I felt welcomed and safe coming and going in the area. The house is a quaint spot on the street and the Host make for a smooth check in and out, I will book again one day!thanks
