I booked this hotel without much information and no idea where it actually was. I lucked out! I arrived at the hotel and saw it was inside the entrance to the pyramids (past the first security point). My first impression was lovely. The grounds are beautiful and the interior facing rooms have balconies that overlook a lovely courtyard. The facilities are beautiful on the inside as well. The staff were very helpful on check in and I got a ride to my room in one of the farther buildings. Each building has metal detectors you go through on your way in, which is an additional step but not a hassle. The room was perfect. Everything was clean, the toiletries provided were high quality, and I had a balcony that I wanted to take home with me! I arrived late at night and had a room with a pyramid view, so the first thing I wanted to do was figure out where the pyramid was. I was warned by friends that "pyramid view" means you see a tiny corner of a pyramid if you crane your head and squint. However, as I sat out in the dark I slowly realized that instead of a tiny speck, I had a huge pyramid in my line of sight, right behind the hotel's main building. I sat there in awe for about twenty minutes exclaiming to myself in amazement, and then I realized that a second pyramid was visible to the right of the large one. They were huge! I am a lover of old hotels from the late 1800s and early 1900s, and this hotel was no exception. It is one of the best places I've ever stayed.
Aesthetic break, excellent food in the 139 Restaurant, good sauna and soa, top massage, historical nuances. Will go again- even though we are already residents of Cairo
I paid extra for a pyramid view. To get this view you had to go out on deck and look down along the building. It was frustrating as it was not what was advertised. They did switch rooms for us but we again had to pay extra again for the new view. Most of the resort is not available due to remodeling according to staff. I did not see any work being done but I did not look that hard. The hotel has potential and would be great if I had not paid extra to not get what I had anticipated.
Couldn't ask for better hospitality in a more beautiful setting. The hotel is unreal and the view of the pyramids are breath taking. Did I mention the hospitality? Also I have never felt more safe and secure in my life! I'll definitely be back !!
Close to the gyza pyramids, just 5 minutes walking Everybody nice in the hotel all the staff Great rooms, restaurants and amazing pool area Nothing better, best place to stay in cairo.
manager and staff truly went out of their way to make our vacation the best! nothing like waking up to a magnificent view of the pyramids! we enjoyed the comforts of having superb restaurants within the property and convenience of being so close to the main attraction - the pyramids..welcome drink and quick check-in and the manager worked our request - rm 434 and a special anniversary cake and fruit tray! enjoyed Egypt tremendously and side-trip to Luxor capped our vacation..looking forward to visiting again! thank you Mena house!
