I am writing this review as a benchmark against 5 star standards which this hotel claims to be. Let me be clear, it would not receive a 2 star rating in Europe or the USA. The building overall is incredibly dated. It appears as it it has not been refurbished since the 1970s. The reception is cramped and the reception staff are abrupt and rude. The overall appearance of the hotel is dirty and uncared for. The bedrooms are also incredibly dated. There are loose wires hanging out of the walls and the decor is horrific. Again, pure 1970s. There are hardly any power sockets in the rooms. When I went looking for one I was sickened to see the dust and dirt in behind the bedside lockers and desk. The bathroom was not properly cleaned with hair in the bath. In addition, I was woken by someone trying to break into my room!! When I called reception about this again, they showed no urgency or concern. Then there is the food. I only ate breakfast here but again, it was woeful. There was little choice with the only type of eggs available being boiled eggs. There were a few Egyptian choices but little western options. For fruit, there was only one bowl of mixed fruit. No fresh yogurt. There was no chef available to cook an omelette or pancakes etc. It reminded me of the type of breakfast you might find in a motorway motel such as a Travelodge. Then there is the service. I needed a car to bring me to the airport at 0630. I was told I could get a shuttle bus at 0600 or 0700. I said I needed a car at 0630. They seemed completely bewildered saying they could not book a car after 6pm. I ended up using an Uber but again, this type of idiocy does not occur in a 5 star hotel. I am bemused to read the positive reviews of this hotel referring to the 'luxury' and the 'amazing food' as it is simply not true. Clearly the hotel owner gets his friends and family to write the reviews for them. This hotel might be fine if it had its true rating of 2-3 star but 5 star it is not. The only positive I can say is that it is close to the airport. Take my advice, DO NOT STAY HERE. There are plenty of other hotels close by so choose one of them.

This hotel is lovely and clean. All the staff were wonderful and very helpful. Nice size room with modern decor. Decent breakfast selection. Located approx 20mins from airport, away from centre of Cairo however not that far in a taxi to Egyptian Museum, Pyramids of Giza etc. The main reason I have not given this hotel a 5star rating is because the pool was undergoing renovations when we were there.

the hotel in general is fair, the room is ok , bed is comfortable, but the interest to servr and satisfy the guest is missing, the mini bar is empty, the wi fi service os very bad, I have to request a tissue box as ot was not there, the bath robe is not provided but the note for hope to enjoy and offer to buy one is there, the breakfast is normal the chief Mohamed and shimma are so kind and helful, the room view is very bad it is the swimming pool view the view is a disaster

Stayed at the Meridian Heliopolis for 3 nights from the 15th of Feb and it was a very pleasant stay. I was very happy that the hotel kept their promise and arranged for a free transfer from the airport although my flight landed around 2.00 am this was a good start. The Hotel is perfectly ok clean and tidy maybe old but it is not a big deal at all the room was comfortable and nice and provides all you need. What makes this hotel is the staff very friendly and I mean it all of them with no exception are an excellent example for the Egyptian people to mention I can remember Mr Abdelgwad Ahmed reservation manager whom I dealt with when I made my booking he is so helpful and a real credit for the hotel at the front desk there is a lovely middle age lady called Sherine and 2 young blokes by the name of Khaled they are all lovely hard working people. The breakfast in my eyes and opinion was not up to the stander as for example they where serving every day boiled rice never seen it for breakfast but I noticed a group of Chinese so may be it was for them but in general breakfast was very ordinary and nothing special what so ever and the cheese variety was so limited and the fava beans was tasteless. I wanted to use the pool as I thought they had an indoor pool but this was not the case and it was cold to use the outdoor pool. I would definitely and with no doubt and hesitation return again and recommend it to all the people I know but the down side of this hotel that it is to far from all the touristic sites and it is not easy to move in Cairo as it is a very crowded city with mad traffic but I love it.

I stayed for 6 nights on a business trip. The room was tired and needs updating and the bathroom had a bit of a "drain smell", however the shower was good and the room included a bathrobe. Breakfast was a bit chaotic, sometimes there was a live omelette station and sometimes not, what was on offer also varied greatly each day and I had the feeling the staff weren't entirely sure of what they needed to do. That said, everyone was friendly and said "hello" and were tried to help whenever I had a question. I've stayed in Le Meridien Cairo Airport which was much better so all in all an average stay but the chain needs to spend some money on this particular property.

Ny last visit to Le Meridian Heliopolis was a disaster. Ruined two pause of trousers om a chair in ny room and the person in charge siden not believe me. I never ever visit a hotel where I was not believed. I even took pictures of the chair, and showed them the chair - in vain. This is NOT good enough.

Stayed at this for a 2 night business trip to Cairo location was great for business meetings and Cairo traffic and was amazed at how nice and friendly the staff at this hotel are. Looking out for my needs and safety handling transport and fixing issues that came up. did find some of the rooms to be a bit outdated and in need of renovation such as the showers and the phone system in the room but then again they really did try hard.

The hotel has very nice and helpful staff and the location is OK but it clearly hasn't been updated since 1976. We did try the bar which was OK but Starwood really needs to spend some money on this place if it is to work a a business hotel

The reservation dates was wrong (arrival day was wrong), i could barely find a "smoking room" while i asked for a "non-smoking room",cause i am highly allergic to smoke. They couldn't do anything about it. It is not a pleasant stay.

After reading some of the other reviews of this hotel, my expectations were very low. Thankfully, the hotel beat my expectations. It was very clean from the lobby to the hotel room. There are several excellent restaurants on site that are good and offer a wide range of cuisine. The breakfast buffet was excellent. Our waiter, Mohamed, went above and beyond in making sure we were taken care of. He made sure our drinks were filled and wanted to know that we were having a good stay. This hotel is close to CAI and has a shuttle so I will be staying there again in the future.
