Ny last visit to Le Meridian Heliopolis was a disaster. Ruined two pause of trousers om a chair in ny room and the person in charge siden not believe me. I never ever visit a hotel where I was not believed. I even took pictures of the chair, and showed them the chair - in vain. This is NOT good enough.
Stayed at this for a 2 night business trip to Cairo location was great for business meetings and Cairo traffic and was amazed at how nice and friendly the staff at this hotel are. Looking out for my needs and safety handling transport and fixing issues that came up. did find some of the rooms to be a bit outdated and in need of renovation such as the showers and the phone system in the room but then again they really did try hard.
The hotel has very nice and helpful staff and the location is OK but it clearly hasn't been updated since 1976. We did try the bar which was OK but Starwood really needs to spend some money on this place if it is to work a a business hotel
The reservation dates was wrong (arrival day was wrong), i could barely find a "smoking room" while i asked for a "non-smoking room",cause i am highly allergic to smoke. They couldn't do anything about it. It is not a pleasant stay.
After reading some of the other reviews of this hotel, my expectations were very low. Thankfully, the hotel beat my expectations. It was very clean from the lobby to the hotel room. There are several excellent restaurants on site that are good and offer a wide range of cuisine. The breakfast buffet was excellent. Our waiter, Mohamed, went above and beyond in making sure we were taken care of. He made sure our drinks were filled and wanted to know that we were having a good stay. This hotel is close to CAI and has a shuttle so I will be staying there again in the future.
Quite an old property and hence it shows in everything from the bathroom to the passage. However, the rooms are neat and clean. More of a four star quality. Quite happy since I had to pay only similar rates. Staff were generally helpful but always felt they were trying to sell me a tour package.
The hotel is old and thats not a bad thing but the hotel is disgustingly filthy across the board. I took pictures of filth in the toilets and the room to show the manager who appeared surprised. This hotel is by far the worst I have stayed in. The rooms smelt like a sewer most times and the other times like a cigar lounge even though I had a non smoking room. Room service was very average but most times things were forgotten like salt. The only consolation was the bed which was clean. This hotel does not stand up to any 4 star rating let alone be a part of the Starwood group.
For the several times visit the hotel I found all the employees are friendly and really cooperative especially the concierge team also the rooms are very cleaned with a very comfortable beds but the quietness in the room is very low.
I stayed at this hotel at several occasions and for many days each time. I came there as it is a part of the SPG Group and I had a good time there. I only used the lobby restaurant, friendly staff and generally good food and beverage. Overall, you are living among friendly staff. One remark to the staff at the reception: whenever you speak to most of them, you always have to repeat everything. It is always “Sorry Sir” – it is a bad and arrogant habit, and boring to the guests that they keep on being too proud. The clients are there for them to have work. So wake up and LISTEN when a guest approach you. There are plenty of local restaurants in the neighborhood. I will come back again to this hotel. Rooms were average but clean and beds were comfortable. The laundry service is the most EXPENSIVE service I have ever paid for, cloth for 3 days goes easy up USD 100 for laundry service. I have complained about it but nothing has changed.
I stayed at the club floor where the service is available 24 H . With the very modest price per night you fer a fabulous breakfast where a chef cooks your eggs the way you want them and supplies you with whatever you desire in terms of fresh fruits , freshly squeezed fruit juice and any hot plate you wish to have. During the rest of the day you can gave a snack juice coffee of any kind etc... free of charge all day long. You have a private salon where you can receive your guests and offer them anything to Drink for free. You need shoes shined ? Someone will pick them up and return them clean within minutes and you can tip what you want, usually no more than 2$. Service is simply excellent at an amazing low price well under 100$ a night!
