It is an excellent hotel with great facilities, the breakfast buffet is delicious with both Egyptian and international dishes. All the hotel staff were excellent, friendly and very accommodating. We were one day late on our arrival, and since our type our room was not available, they upgrade us to an executive room with a beautiful view of the Nile at no additional cost. We were so happy with our stay that we extended to a total of ten days. Everything was great, I wish we could have stayed there for a month to enjoy the beauty of Cairo.
I arrived to checkin and was told they did not have my reservation. I gave them the confirmation, and they told me to have a seat. A half hour later (mind you they did not offer me any drink or anything while waiting), they came and told me they made me a new reservation, and that I would have to go back to Orbitz for a refund. They were more focused on having someone take my small bag for a tip (offered about 6 times) than addressing my needs, but I also understand this is endemic to Egypt as a whole. They also wanted to charge me up front for potential incidentals, instead of just doing a pre auth on my credit card. Once I got upstairs, I hooked up to the internet to call Orbitz (EGP 165 for the day - almost $30 for the internet), and was told the hotel did have my reservation and that they would refund me. I called the front desk and they acknowledged it, but said there was some discrepancy with the rate. The room was nice, with nice amenities. The health club was open 24 hours, but the pool was only open from 10-6. I ordered room service, and the food was extremely lousy. The next morning, likewise, the breakfast buffet was extremely lousy, and the service even worse. The wedding I attended at the hotel was nice, and the hall and food were much better than the buffet and room service. The views of the nile and location across from the Nile were very nice. All in all, I would recommend it for the location, but not for anything else.
Great hotel, excellent breakfast buffet, good service, no complaints. The only glintch was that they hadn,t receive the confirmation from [...] and wanted to take again funds from my CC. It was solved after half an hour of consultations.
My feedback about Conrad Cairo is un satisfactory[...]was sale including breakfast, but I surprise that hotel reception informed me that my reservation was without breakfasT , and they charged me for it.RegardsAli
