We had a great stay here. Stayed in a cabin with a kitchenette, and a shared bathroom. The palm trees everywhere give you a great view, and with the sounds of the birds you won't forget you are in the tropics. Cool off in a nice clean pool when it gets too hot. The place is under new management, and I didn't see any of the problems that I read about in other reviews. Very friendly service. Plan ahead if you choose this place, its often booked out. Lots of long termers here.
If you are looking for rather peaceful accommodation outside the city ,this is the place for you.Surrounded by lots of greenery and animal sounds it feels like you are sleeping in the middle of a rainforrest.Very simple and clean accommodation in cabins with kitchenette and air-conditioning is all you need .Shared bathrooms are just few steps away. There is also lovely outdoor swimming pool.Very friendly staff Melissa and her husband gave us a lot of useful advice about places to see and helped us with the bookings. As we did not have a car,we took a local bus just few minutes walk from the accommodation, which takes you to the city centre. The bus runs every 30 mins and it takes about 20-25mins to the city centre,The cost is around AUD 3.60 for the trip, depends where you go as it depends on the zone. This place has also mini market at the reception, should you need any snacks, toiletries etc .Free wi-fi .Great place to stay!!! Thank you and hope to stay here some day again.
This was budget accomodation so expectations were not high.. and although it was basic it was also comfortable and had a good friendly feel to it. I enjoyed the tropical feel of the park.. lots of flora, animal noises etc. I recommend taking good insect repellent as there was a lot of mossies and ants.. but thats the price of staying amongst greenery and nature and to be expected. The pool is small but clean and liked by my son. I could see many people making the most of the BBQ facilities even though we did not. The cabin was well equipped although small.. however when considering the price this is reasonable. Overall im happy with our stay there and give 5 stars based on what you get for your money. We would go back.
Rude manager, we came here to pick up a friends luggage and was told we couldn't park on 'her' property unless we were staying she was extremely rude to us. I would never stay here. Friend who stayed said the place was just OK, i guess you get what you pay for!
We stayed for two nights in one of the older style villas (villa 47). We booked last minute and I think that was all they had left. Cabin had a double bed, bathroom, kitchen with two hobs, two bunk beds in the living area, a table and a couple of sofa chairs. It was quite crowded and a bit mish mash. It didn't feel very clean. The campground itself looked like it was full of permanent residents and looked quite run down. We didn't feel too safe there. The area around the park looked quite run down too. For the price, it had all we needed and was cheap. ($65 per night for 2 adults). However, I wouldn't stay here again. Stay there if nothing else left and just looking to get your head down.
as a sporting group consisting of 5 adults and 5 teenagers we had 3 family villas. they were clean and tidy and excellent value for what we paid. the pool area was very relaxing and clean, the bbq area was what you would expect for budget accomodation with adequate seating and cover from the elements for our group. overall we had a very pleasant and relaxing time which we feel contributed to our successful results in the AABL national titles. we would stay here again. thank you from all of us at the barossa boxing club tasmania.
Warm welcome by host and shown to our villa, which was very good value for the price paid, had double bed, upper and lower bunk, seperate bathroom, microwave and portable hotplate. The park is of older style with older type buildings, has pool and shop (open only a few hours per day),and yes,has a lot of permanents (which adds character to the park). The park is only 10 minutes to city by car (mainly metered parking) and takes 30 minutes by the 143 bus just 3 minutes walk from park,a daily bus ticket costs $6.40 adult,$3.20 concession, major shopping centres not far away by car or bus
Our accommodation was called a family cabin. It was not cleaned properly, had dirty marks including blood on a wall, the bathroom sink had a big dirty crack in it and the cold water tap dripped all day long and night. There was mould above the shower unit and above the toilet, which is a health issue as well as being disgusting. The shower run hot and cold. the hot plate, microwave and fridge ran off the same plug, which kept blowing. The office hours were pretty crap and so with us being out most of the day, when we got back they were closed. The check in , in the shop needs a lot of work, not very professional at all. The air conditioning unit in one of the rooms didnt work and because both rooms were attached to the same power box, power sockets kept blowing, certainly not well maintained at all. To be honest the only thing good this place had going for them was the pool for our grand daughter. I have written to the manager at the park, and they are not interested in any complaints. A word of warning, dont stay there unless there is no other accommodation available. Go to Cairns Coconut instead or the Big 4.
I had cabin 46b, next to a converted bus. It had a shared bathroom but the door from 46a was locked. I don't think they expect anyone to share with strangers. I echo other comments: The good: Super comfy bed but creaky. Great shower. Quiet location. NOT so good: Tiny kitchen sink, and even smaller bathroom sink (you need to sit on the toilet to use it), neither has hot water. No soap provided and only one towel, no small towels. Kitchen with mircowave, toaster, kettle, and very slow 2 burner hotplate. Minimal kitchenware. Freezer did not freeze water after 24 hours in there. Rather cramped main room, I kept hitting my toes on the sofa. AC worked well. Site is very congested. I have never seen anything so crammed before. Very friendly staff and less than 10 minutes drive to get into Cairns CBD. It is good value but don't expect too much.
When I rang and booked the manager lady was very helpful, required full payment for a week up front. Pleasantly greeted when we arrived, shown to our site. The manageress is a lovely Lady, however the leisure park is misleading in title. The amenities need a good overall, they are very old and some of the licks on the amenities door are broken. There are a lit of permanents living there and their sites are disgusting and I did not feel safe in this park at all. Unfortunate my there are not a lot of parks as close to Cairns as this is, but I would prefer to pay higher price and feel safe.
