This hotel should be an old hotel based on the rooms and overall deco. I should add however that the place is very well maintained. I had a king sized bed and room was spacious. Toilet is old but clean. Room keys are still keys and not the card keys which gives a sense of the past. The lobby was grand and very open. Location is just across from the beach and a short walk down gets you to all the restaurants and shopping. I will recommend this hotel. If you can (I could not) choose a room with the sea facing.
My husband and I ate at the Bistro Han last night and can wholeheartedly recommend the food here. We chose the W77,000 dinner menu which was a delight - full of delicious surprises and very good value for money for such fine dining. There is also a W66,000 menu as well as the possibility to eat "à la carte". The restaurant itself is beautifully and tastefully decorated and the service attentive yet discreet. Apparently it is newly opened since 31st March following renovations and seems to be not yet well known. A real gem, waiting to be discovered !
We were visiting from california and stayed here. Clean, has a great spa place with a gym. Excellent and friendly staff tending us wherever we were. Food is great. We especially loved the fresh and cooked veggies. So well seasoned. My favorite, hot noodle bowl and mushroom soup. One of the best I ve tasted so far. Thank you, chef.
A beautiful hotel with amazing service. Love the breakfast. Mr. Han Kwang Sub was an exceptionally helpful concierge. He helped us book a KTX train for our trip to Seoul. We will most certainly return to this hotel for our trip next year.
This is by far the best Hotel I have stayed in during my many visits to South Korea, from the moment I stepped in the foyer the immaculate staff were super helpful and curtious, I had made an error with my booking date online and the front desk staff helped me sort my issue out, the baggage porter who took our luggage to our room was amazing, his english was so good and he made us feel so welcome, the room was stunning with its views of the beach and big comfy bed and the room was spacious and very clean, I can't wait to book in again to the Grand Haeundae again on my next visit to Busan, thank you to all the staff at the Grand for such a memorable stay.
The hotel is very well located just few meters from the Haeundae Beach, some 30 min drive by taxi from Busan Station. The area is very lively especially in the evenings due to a lot of restaurants and cafes. The hotel looks magnificent so it is apparently used by celebrities during the Busan Film Festival and is beloved by Korean tourists. The staff is very polite but sometimes has difficulties to understand English. To enjoy the beauty of the area it is better to take a high floor sea view room. However, some rooms (I had 20th floor High Deluxe City view) need a heavy refurbishment as they are quite outworn. Especially the bathroom does not match 5 stars at all. Please also note that the high tech toilet has only Korean signs so it is not easy to operate. Breakfast was quite rich with a lot of Korean specialities. We also had an access to the Executive Lounge on 19th floor where you could take free snacks and drinks all day. The Lounge is however quite small and mostly fully occupied so it is not easy to find a place.
Just a quick overnight in Busan and we were able to book a night at the Haeundae Grand Hotel. An impressive building, and a great staff. Feeling a little out of sorts as a tourist with no language skills in Korean, it was great to find that most of the staff is bilingual. They helped switch train reservations as well as confirm that the next hotel would be open for a very late arrival (after midnight). Kang Ji-Hoon even made sure we had screen shots of the new tickets and itinerary, just in case. Plus wrote instructions in Korean, should we need to provide these to cab driver when arriving in the next town.
The hotel is located on the seaside close to the beach with a fantastic view from the room. The beach itself is excellent. We booket a family room and got access to a nice swimming arena included in the price. Good rooms with aircondition and great beds. Recommended.
My first-hand travel experience from the March '2017 stay: Positive: beautiful location, good places to eat all around. Annoying: the thermostat in my room was getting self-awareness a few times per night and setting itself to 31C. I had to get up all sweaty and reset it by hand. Now the negative: During check-in, I asked the front desk staff to make my check out day flexible. Due to the flight back being canceled, I was not sure when UA will rebook me to fly back and it was possible to stay either six or seven night. The desk clerk said that since the initial reservation was made for seven nights, he needed his manager's approval to allow that. The next day I received a message that the requested flexibility for check out cannot be provided. Because of the hotel refusal to be flexible in accommodating travel request, I had to change routing and pay extra for the ticket change.
