We had the room facing the city and it was ok. The bathroom is a bit outdated but overall a good experience. Walking distance to the beach and staff speaks English.
We spent 4 days at the Haeundae Grand Hotel. The staff was rather attentive although we did have to request extra towels more than once. The location, although an hour from the airport in the Busan traffic, was in perfect location to the beach--which is what we wanted. There was a great restaurant,Quinni, just down the street from the hotel which served a price fixed menu that was absolutely incredible! The value at that restaurant just doesn't get any better. Overall, we had a lovely trip and enjoyed our stay.
From the beginning, the Grand Hotel underimpressed. The greeting from the desk manager was cold and distant, with zero explanation of any conveniences we might enjoy, checkout times, elevators, pools, etc. Just the bare minimum of information exchanged. The room itself was thoroughly average. It was nice, but worth nowhere near what we paid for it. The bathroom was cramped and had a shower tub. Seriously: a 5-star hotel with a plain-Jane shower tub. The bed was comfortable and clean, but I'm not kidding when I saw I've had much better experiences at budget hotels like Motel 6. The only free thing we got was 2 bottles of water in the room. No free breakfast, no welcome snacks: nada. If you want to spend a night in Haeundae, try a different hotel, and I hope your stay is worth it!
The staff was quite helpful and on the spot with all of our requests. The room was spacious, and the beds were nearly as soft as the beds in the US.
The hotel was great with friendly staff and easy check in/out. The room was clean and many services available. We chose this hotel specifically for the 7 lane, 50 meter pool since we wanted to swim everyday for fitness. 5 of the 7 lanes are not available to hotel guests and the remaining two lanes are filled with people standing or walking (pool depth is ~1.4 meters). We managed to swim each day by choosing non-peak hours. The pool charged 4500 KRW per entry. Swimming cap is mandatory.
The hotel was right in the middle of the Haewondae beach area. The room was clean and nice enough...like an average clean Hilton. The bed was a little firm but ok for me. Our room was quiet but you could sometime hear the neighbor if they snored loud but otherwise quiet enough to sleep. The staff were very helpful and professional.
This hotel was in the perfect location to enjoy Haeundae Beach. It is also a host for the Busan International Film Festival, so if you plan a trip in mid-October, you can enjoy both at the same time! We were surprised that everything came at an extra cost-- you had to pay to use the swimming pool and there was a $40 extra bed charge. The hotel also did not provide complimentary shampoo or conditioner; you had to buy it from the mini-bar in the room. Overall, the view was fantastic and the room was very comfortable. We would stay here again and recommend it to friends.
