Value for money

Close to the metro station, very friendly personel, clean, nice breakfast, good dinner service. Also a tram station a few meters out of the hotel. It goes directly to some intresting places downtown. They could offer wifi - it is not expencive these days.

Budapest's place to stay for high ceilings lovers

Hunguest Hotel Platanus is located near the Népliget line 3 metro station and the 1/1A tram stop. Both the Népliget Park and Bus Terminal are situated across the street. The hotel features high ceilings, large corridors, a huge restaurant and quite big out of style suites. The breakfast served in the restaurant includes salads, eggs, omelettes, cereals, milk, sausages, cold and hot beverages. There is a fitness room immediately in the hotel. The staff is quite polite but does not tend to provide any extended services such as assisting in sending e-mails from the only public computer of the hotel installed in the lobby. The computer itself is not reliable and requires coins being inserted in the special slot every few minutes. In addition, there is no outside telephone connection from the rooms even though the staff insists on the opposite thing. I would not recommend this hotel for those who do not have a laptop with them (fortunately, there is a WiFi Internet connection in the rooms) as well as for those who prefer not to spend much time for getting to the city center and sightseeing areas. Although, for short time stays or for those who visit Budapest on business matter the Hunguest Hotel Platanus does not appear to be the worse choice.

Not Impressed

This hotel is ideal for the location and price, however, it is very dirty. I am a single traveller and therefore I am attracted to price rather than to quality of hotels due to not spending much time in the room. However, I am sure that the beds were not changed before I went to the hotel, and when I asked for them to be changed, the bed was simply made for me, not cleaned. The shower was very old and needed a good clean also. The breakfast was simple and all you needed, however, eggs that were clearly past their use by date due to the discolour of them were being served. I have no problem sleeping through noise, however, the walls in this hotel were so thin that when people arrived in from an evening out and walked through the corridor, it was as if they were standing next to your bed talking!

This hotel is functional for the price paid. Breakfast however is notably bad and the staff were very rude at times. Room was very clean and the location was fantastic.

Flot hotel kun 200m fra metrostation, med stor flot morgenmadsbuffet, og fitness i kælderen. Ikke super centralt beliggende, men kun 5 metrostop fra centrum og god forbindelse til både bus og sporvogn.
