We have just stayed at the hotel. NO TEA OR COFFEE IN ROOM but did get kettle etc after first night. Breakfast was poor ,the cooked selection looked very tired and messy. Coffee machine was temperamental, staff did not want to help and so miserable!!!! On Friday 17 th we were told they had run out of bread for toast!,,,,,,, . Rooms are ok but to dark especially the bathroom ,the corridors are far too dark black walls and curtains ! Front staff were helpful . Wouldn't return.
The Museum is very handily placed in downtown Pest, close to the university area and Astoria metro station. The hotel has a beautiful nineteenth century facade, but inside it's very modern, with rather minimalist monochrome decor. Our room was of a decent size, with a comfortable large bed, and a good bathroom. Breakfast was served in a dedicated breakfast room, and was self-service. A really wide range of hot and cold food, cereals and good coffee was available. Staff are friendly and efficient: we were pleased that we could leave our bags on our last day for a final morning in Budapest, and that they could arrange a taxi to pick us up. All done without fuss and with a smile. The hotel doesn't have a restaurant, but they are happy to recommend local places to eat, of which there are lots in the immediate vicinity. The hotel bar is a rather anonymous space, and not many guests (ourselves included) wanted to spend much time there. Overall, this is a great place to stay in this fascinating city. You can walk to most of the main tourist spots in a few minutes, or hop on the metro for locations out of the centre.
Very friendly, helpful staff, a lovely clean room and a nice breakfast included. Good location within walking distance of most tourist attractions and would highly recommend this hotel. Great value for money.
I spent 5 nights at this hotel in September 2017. I enjoyed my stay quite much even though I had the impression that the quality of the rooms could vary quite much (I spent 3 nights in a top floor room which was modern and rather big, and 2 nights in another room which, on the contrary, was rather old and less charming). In general, I found the rooms clean, breakfast rather good (but not very varied), and the staff helpful and kind. The location is perfect and room rates are very good, too. Recommended :)
Booked this hotel for my wife's birthday going off passed reviews .when we arrived we were met with a smile and quickly checked in and showed to our room. Our room was a superior and on entering noticed a bottle of sparkling wine with a letter for my wife from the hotel.(Nice touch thank you). The room number was 302 and was very nice with mini bar and bath and shower also had big sofa ,tv a very cozy bed wardrobe ,safe included free ,aircon heater .the hotel also had free to use sauna,Turkish bath,Jacuzzi which was very nice to use just before going out so pack you swimming gear.not many people used the facilities my wife and I had it for ourselves most times. Hotel is in a good place for market, castle area also Jewish area not once did I use transport but covered a lot of the city and some of there ruin bars etc .if I could pick one fault with hotel it would be that there is no tea or coffee facilities in room but can have one in reception area during afternoon. Breakfast enough choice for all .A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL STAFF AT HOTEL MUSEUM FROM ROOM 302 6.11.17 to 10.11.17
My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Museum for four nights in September. Generally we were happy with the experience. Our room was very small, but that seems to be the norm for Europe in general. I still have bruises on my elbows from trying to turn in the shower, I would REALLY like a normal shower on vacation in Europe! The room was exceptionally quiet (appreciated). Very clean. We are not breakfast people, but if you are you will not be dissatisfied. There was a significant choice. Still can’t get over seeing people (you know who you are – tour groups from that neighbouring country) plowing through thousands of calories at 8:00 a.m. Makes me nauseous. Front desk staff were very good. Got lost in translation a couple times. My fault, not theirs. Every staffer I spoke to tried to help, from front desk to housekeeping. I appreciate that. That’s what makes a hotel a memorable experience in my opinion. An important note - “4 star” accommodation in Europe means something very different than North American visitors may assume. The ‘star’ designation requirements varies from country to country, and within countries within Europe and elsewhere. The star system here is more directed to things like – elevator – yes / no, front desk staff speaking x languages – yes / no, not referring to amenities like pool, sauna, etc. Very good location for walking towards sites and the river. I would recommend this hotel to travellers for short stays.
Thank you for a fantastic 3 days - it was my partners Birthday and they upgraded us to a superior room - bottle of fizz left on the table what a lovely touch perfect location - staff so helpful - the hotel was recommended to us by friends and it surely lived up to expectation - Fabulous - Jet Two well done
Very nice clean hotel very comftable room staff were all lovely felt very safe here. The staff were lovely and very helpful location was a short taxi ride to river or you could walk. Loved this hotel.
The hotel has a very good location, in a quiet area, as you get a nice walk to the attractions and the restaurants nearby. It is close to 2 metro stations. Breakfast was included and there were plenty of options. They do have a small restaurant but it wasn't a problem to get a sit. The room was not too big but modern and clean. Quite a lot of noise from the other rooms and hallway but it probably depends who your neighbours are.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Hotel Museum Budapest and can thoroughly recommend it! The only area we would consider improving would be the bar, it is too quiet and lacks ambience. The Hotel Museum Budapest is very convenient to the town, we found all the staff friendly and helpful and the hotel is kept spotlessly clean! There is a fridge in room and hairdryer in bathroom. Hop on Off City bus tour is a must for information, go to the Palace for the best views of the city and the river cruise is included in the bus tour ticket.
