Used the hotel in October half term week for family break, two adults and two children. Flights, transfer hotel booking arranged through Ryanair, great value and faultless. Our room on level one was plenty large enough, a separate twin bed room and a sofa bed that converted into one double. Heating was thermostatically controlled within the room, a small two hob cooker, fridge, microwave provided. Also provided was a mobile phone which was free to use for national and international calls, Google maps and most other android apps installed as ell as local information about the hotel and Budapest You were allowed to take it out and about with you, but if damaged or lost you pay 300euros. On check out it automatically erases all data. Staff very pleasant and helpful, self service breakfast was a continental style. We ate out during the day and used the cooking facilities in the evening, there is a small corner shop at the end of the street. Well positioned for getting to most places on the 'Pest' side of the Danube. To get to 'Buda' side we used the hop on hop off tourist buses, tickets sold in the hotel or on most main street corners.

City hotel is a great hotel Grate service Fantastic staff and the buffet breakfast is excellent they have helped us in some problems we faced during our stay and we wish to thank them, the room s are in very good condition and clean staff members friendly and helpful professional and well educated people 😘I love this hotel and I recommend it to everyone .

There are one and two bed apartments with cooking facilities here which are excellent value. Beautiful, clean and we appointed. Fantastic when traveling with children. Great breakfast. Location very good. They gave us an upgrade to a two bed apartment which was lovely. They lend you a mobile phone (if you lose it, 300 euros) and the phone calls are free. The service is a bit patchy and the walls can be thin depending on the position of your room

Stayed at City Hotel in June. It is in a backstreet off the main road but easy to find - we got the bus and metro from the airport. Nice hotel and our room was huge with a kitchen too. Quite dark interior but it didn't matter as we went out a lot. The hotel is in a good location and we walked around the city a lot, plus you've got the metro and tram stops in the next street. The staff were helpful when we asked about excursions. Breakfast was also included although a small selection, it was enough. It was boiling the week we were there so the air-con came in handy.

My (adult) son and I had booked two junior suites as we wanted to be able to self-cater if necessary. I was worried about a few of the review-posted photographs which seemed to show a 'shoddy' level of maintenance but I resolved to simply insist on changing rooms if they were too bad. In fact, one of the suites had had a burst pipe and instead, we were offered a business level apartment with two bedrooms, an ample living room and separate kitchen, which was very acceptable although only one bathroom. So the accommodation was very big and clean and well presented. It is important to note that the air conditioning is not built in and consisted of one (effective) noisy machine with a hose through the window! There seemed to be no way of contacting the front desk by phone and the double beds were both two single beds pushed together. On investigating the location, which was central and very handy for major sights and attractions, we did find that we were in a slightly dubious area with striptease bars and sex clubs at the end of the road, but we did not feel unsafe. We chose not to have breakfast after the first morning. The choice was more than adequate for a cold breakfast but the eggs were overcooked and the sausages unappealing and for 8 Euros we ate elsewhere. Apart from breakfast, the cafe does not offer anything except a very restricted number of drinks. However, the desk staff were very friendly and very helpful and were happy to order any number of taxis, trips, information, check-in confirmation etc etc. In general we were happy and felt that the value was acceptable.

Spacious room for four with attic, with a fully equipped kitchenette, very clean and well kept, pleasant to stay in. The location is excellent with a very convenient access to public transport, the air conditioning is with internal engine and noisy so it was hard to fall asleep, the attic room is very hot in July. There is no safe in the room. My request to repair a lamp that did not work was not answered.

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for a week on our trip to Budapest. I think the staff was friendly and the room was nice but not that clean. Also the beds were quite old and not very comfortable. Luckily we didn't spend that much time at the hotel because it was easy to walk around the city from the hotel.

We booked for a Standard Double room on the assumtion that the renovations had been completed. On checking again via Trip Adisor we realised that it was only partially completed and subsequently changed our reservation to a Priviledge Double Room. So pleased that we did. The room was great for a City Hotel and the price paid, Ok the bathroom is small but all there, this can be common in City Hotels.. We pre- booked a taxi from the airport via the Hotel and this was also a super service and worth the little extra cost. The breakfast was good with plenty of choice and lovely espresso coffee! We did not seem to encounter the Mr or Ms Grumpy who has been spoken about in various reviews, maybe just our luck. All staff were friendly and helpful. The room was on the fourth floor, clean, overlooked the Harsfa Utca and not noisy. All in all a great stay and we would recommend this Hotel especially for the location.

We had a spacious room with a double bed, large table, kitchen (fully equipped), bathroom and air conditioning. The breakfast was average but not poor. The staff helpful. It's location is very convenient right next to the tram line (4 & 6) and a few blocks away from Oktogon metro station.

Just spent 6 nights at this Hotel and really enjoyed the experience. The room was clean and perfectly adequate for our needs. Breakfast is included in the Tariff and makes the Hotel excellent value for money. The location is really good in a pleasant and quiet neighbourhood with easy access to public transport. Several of the major Tourist attractions are within easy walking distance. Finally, all the staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
