We had a nice citytrip in this hotel. The hotel employees were very helpful with all kind of things. eg. planning diner, great places to visit and the transfer to the airport. The hotel has a big night bar and two restaurants, the Libanees is very good. Also the breakfast was very good.
The hotel is in a fabulous location! It's at the start of the pedestrian walkway where you will find amazing shops and restaurants. It's also 5 min walk to the Danub river and plenty of other attractions. The hotel went out of their way to accommodate us. My father is in a wheelchair and they made sure his room was handicapped accessible and that my room was right by his. Air Canada canceled our flight leaving Budapest on a Saturday evening. I called the hotel and they immediately had a car pick us up and promptly return us to the hotel. They were able to get my mom and dad back into the same room but we had to get a different one. They were so apologetic that we couldn't be next to them. They even gave us each a free welcome drink and arranged our transportation back to the airport in the morning for us. They couldn't have been more accommodating to us! We are so thankful we stayed there! We had a flawless stay before our flight debacle that earned them 5 stars but their take charge of our situation to help make us as comfortable as possible after we were no longer their guests makes this the only choice in our minds when staying in Budapest!
very helpful staff particularly Kristian who went out of his way to help us and came across very friendly. He organised a last minute fruit and chocolate platter as it was our 'mini moon'. We loved the 2 floor room we got paying for a slightly more premium room and heated toilet seats and bathroom floor were a great novelty. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was the poor wifi signal particularly in our room as well as one morning where we had to wait over 30minutes for scrambled eggs and toast. They were particularly busy but it was somewhat disorganised.
The hotel is truly a pull of the luxurious decadence of Budapest. Hosted in a historical building at the heart of the city, it fills it with the oriental flair. The checkin experience was great, the staff is very courteous and helpful. The rooms are styled as Chinese boxes. I as well enjoyed the spa area, where you can relax in hot sauna after a cold day. Breakfast is lavish and really tasty, with a lot of choice and some local food too. My only unpleasant comment was the design of the water flow in the bathroom, it is small and all gets literally flooded when you take a shower.
I booked 4 nights at this hotel for leisure purposes after having just finished my Masters exams and for my 30th Birthday, so some much needed relaxation and a special celebration were what I was looking for in the Buddha Bar Hotel and they certainly delivered! I would just like to firstly point out that I travelled here with my parents and brother who is paralysed from the chest down so is confined to a wheelchair (anyone that is used to booking trips with paraplegics in mind, will appreciate just how important and challenging it is to get the right hotel). Upon arrival at 3am, we received the warmest of welcomes from the man on reception and were checked in swiftly and efficiently where he informed us the hotel have upgraded my brothers room. They have only one wheelchair room and that was booked out so they gave him a very large, very luxurious room for his comfort at no extra charge, despite when booking the hotel I made it clear that he will be fine in any room as long as he can move around in his chair. So this was a great start to our experience with the Buddha Bar Hotel. We made use of room service for dinner at 4am after arriving and breakfast to the room the next morning so we could lie in; both absolutely perfect service, lovely food and very prompt. We ordered cappuccinos to the room and also flannels and each time someone very polite, smiley and with a professional manner would be at the door in no time with your order. Breakfast had a fantastic selection and lovely fresh food as well as the hot option from the menu, it really was more than enough choice and very good quality. We also made use of the hotel bar on the 1st floor and the lebanese restaurant and again service was impeccable in both. The location is fantastic! with my mum having some limited mobility with her feet and my brother being confined to his wheelchair, location and access was very important when booking this hotel and it did not disappoint! a prime location with so much to see and do very nearby. I would like to mention two specific aspects of our stay that I feel made this hotel stand out from any of the other 5* hotels we have stayed in. 1) We booked a private tour of the city at the hotel reception and made it explicitly clear that we cannot use the bus tours due to my brothers wheelchair and we are more than happy to pay the £70 each for the private tour if the vehicle is equipped to take the wheelchair (all he needs is a normal vehicle that isnt too high to transfer in to and a big enough boot to fit his collapsible wheelchair) We were ensured this would be no problem this company takes wheelchair users all the time they are fully equipped etc and he proceeded to make the booking for us for the following morning. However, the vehicle that arrived was NOT suitable for a wheelchair user, perhaps one with limited mobility but NOT for a paralysed person. The tour guide and the driver were very pleasant but were suggesting we had not made it clear when booking and they sent their most spacious car and can take seats out etc or lift him in and out at every attraction we stop at for the next 4hrs. The car was like a VW van so too high for him to transfer into, it just was not fit for purpose, so we could not go on our tour. HOWEVER, you might be wondering why I am still giving a 5* review for this hotel and that is due to the manner in which Eszter (Quality Manager I think?) dealt with the situation. At first Eszter questioned whether we had made ourselves clear when booking and at that point I was beginning to get annoyed as we have travelled a lot whilst having to consider my brothers chair and I know to make everything as explicitly clear as possible because people still tend to think paralysis means one or two steps is fine which is the equivalent of saying there is just one paragraph to read to someone that is blind...I am very aware of the lack of understanding with wheelchair users needs and that they are all different so I made it very very clear when booking the private tour what he needed (and can I add, we were not asking for a mini bus with electric ramps and all sorts we had been travelling everywhere up to now in all the normal taxis, my brother drives a normal car with his hands back in the UK it should not have been difficult upon booking) This is why I was becoming quite frustrated upon being told by the tour guide and Eszter that it should be made clear at booking, this is the car we always use for wheelchair users to which I replied I had made it very clear, and wheelchair users with limited mobility may be able to get into that vehicle, someone that cannot move their legs at all most definitely can not use that vehicle. This palava was eating into our time that we had allocated for site seeing that day. Eszter turned this around for us by locating another vehicle with a different company and tried to negotiate whether we could do the tour the next day and do something else today and I explained the next day was my 30th Birthday and I had planned to do the zoo so wanted the tour today. After a few phonecalls Eszter was able to get us a 4hr tour on that day and a further 2hrs the following morning finishing up at the zoo for me to enjoy my original birthday plans, all for the same price with a driver in a normal car (Mercedes) turning up in 20 minutes, she also provided us with waters for our tour and whilst we waited. The level of service received by Eszter was exceptional and I would like to highlight this member of staff to the Hotel Manager. She quickly turned around a frustrating and disappointing situation into an even better solution so we did not have to change our plans or miss out on the tour. 2) The next day on my 30th Birthday, after a champagne breakfast I was wished a happy birthday by the members of staff on reception as I left the hotel, finished our tour in the morning, were dropped to the zoo then got a taxi to a dinner reservation the hotel made for us for my birthday and back to the hotel for drinks at the bar I returned to my room to find a lovely birthday cake and a personalised letter from the hotel management to wish me a happy birthday! This was not requested by any member of my party, it was simply a gesture made by the hotel following conversations we had had with staff on reception about plans for reservations and the tour time changes etc. I know this is a long review but I simply had to highlight the level of service I received from this hotel. The location and service are amazing. I have no complaints about this hotel and believe that even when things do go wrong it is about how it is dealt with, people are too quick on some reviews to just focus on what went wrong and not mention what was done to fix it. The staff at this hotel do a fantastic job across the board and I would love to stay here again. I was helped to celebrate a special occasion and received the pampering I needed after exams. I hope this review is useful to wheelchair users thinking of visiting Budapest, the hotel is fantastic for access but the city itself can be problematic with cobbles and steps etc, nevertheless my brother loved his stay just as much as I did. Thank you Eszter and the rest of The Buddha Bar Hotel Staff for making my 30th so memorable!
Me and my partner visited Budapest for 4 days , and I must say the Hotel is at the heart of town so you just walk out of the door and you are in Vaci street whereare lots of shops and restaurants , Hotel itself is dark colour as you see on pictures , I personally find it too dark if you stay there more than few days I felt I wanted a bit of brightness so is like marmite , you either love it or hate it but I guess hotel has a theme so I m sure you will see before you book, rooms are clean and breakfast is continental and fresh cooked to order hot food, The toilet seat itself was amazing , fully electric automated with remote including , bide, fan etc, heated seat Great service overall
I stayed at the beautiful Buddha Bar Hotel in late June, with four friends as part of my early 50th birthday celebrations and I couldn't have been more thrilled with my choice of hotel. The building itself is stunning. The rooms were really comfortable, with great amenities, especially the heated toilet seat...although the weather was so hot when we were there that this wasn't really needed but I bet if you visit in Winter it's a godsend! Nothing was too much trouble for the hotel. If you asked for more coffee, pillows or needed a taxi, it was arranged super quick. I was especially impressed that when we arrived and were checking in, what could have been a potential disaster, was averted by the very helpful reception staff. When I booked, I asked for a three room but specified that I would like there to be three proper beds and not a sofa bed. When it became apparent that they hadn't been able to accommodate this, we were immediately offered an alternative room to view and this was perfect. My friends were really happy and so was I. Another brilliant feature of this hotel is the breakfast, it's so good! We were spoilt for choice every morning of our stay and the waitresses were so attentive. We also couldn't resist a glass of fizz with our brekkie, which was on offer as well, a lovely way to start the day that's for sure. The spa which is part of the hotel is gorgeous and well worth a visit. This was also part and parcel of our stay. We ate in the Fusion restaurant on the last night of our visit and had an amazing meal. Again the waiting staff were great. They gave me a mini-birthday cake complete with firework!! So I can honestly say without a doubt that if I ever return to beautiful Budapest, I will stay at the Buddha Bar Hotel again. Thank you for making my celebrations so memorable.
Stylish boutique hotel near the heart of the city, walking distance to many attractions, Metro stations, Daniube River and the major pedestrian Avenue of Vaci Utca (tourist trap but nonetheless enjoyable). Many restaurants nearby, and the hotel's own restaurants are fantastic. Rooms are lavishly decorated and comfortable. The entire hotel is a style statement, perfect for a romantic getaway.
Went here for 3 nights with my wife four our first time in Budapest. We loved this place. The location puts you in walking distance to the Buda side, being so close to the white bridge. This location puts you in walking distance of all sights. The building itself is so modern and beautiful in a tranquil buddha theme. The staff was so nice and helpful, providing everything we needed for our stay both in and out of the hotel. The first night we needed the restaurant to deliver gluten free food directly to our room and they were so accommodating and helpful. The junior sweet was so big, luxurious, spacious and comfortable. It was easily the best hotel in the many stays we have had through Europe. The bed was comfortable.
Stayed here 2 nights beginning of July. Hotel very clean and modern. Staff very friendly and helpful Paid €20 to have breakfast included which was well worth the money They also do very good cocktails. Local central to get about. This claims to be 5 star and I would agree!
