I checked in about 6 and didn't know what to expect and it turned out to be one of the best places I've stayed. They had two computers in the business center, a seasonal pool , coffee and popcorn in the lobby. Check-in was no problem and I got a room on the first floor. The room had all the necessary amenities, microfridge, a comfortable bed and quiet. There was a decent breakfast with sausage, eggs, waffles and typical continental fare
While traveling to Morgantown for school, I needed a place to stay that wouldn't break the bank and I will say I'm glad I only stayed here for one night. I was welcomed very kindly by Paula upon my check in after driving for almost 8 hours and her other staff on duty were just as friendly after having to clean up 96 rooms post WVU home football game. Tired from driving all day, all I wanted to do was relax eat some dinner and get my mind set for the next day. When I turned over my bed sheets I was surprised to see what I hoped were coffee stains on one bed and hair on the other double bed in the room. When I went into the bathroom to wash my hands I reached for what I thought was a clean wash cloth only to find it had been used by the make up stains left all over it. I called Paula to ask her staff to put fresh sheets and towels in the room which they did without much hesitation. Only giving this hotel because of its staff but was not impressed with the cleanliness of this hotel. Oh and let me not forget about the 2 friendly spiders that greeted me when I walked into the bathroom, I disposed of them before I could take a picture.
I had an issue with this hotel after staying a few times last year, and I made the decision then not to stay again. I decided to give it another try and was not disappointed. James at the front desk is a hoot! He was very friendly yet professional. I had an issue with my rates/room and he contacted the assistant manager and rectified the issue immediately. Marshall, the assistant manager, was also very helpful. The rooms were a bit cleaner than my previous stays. The breakfast was just average for hotel breakfast, but there is a convenient store and other restaurants nearby. The hotel is good for the price. After this weekend stay, I will continue to stay here whenever I visit my daughter.
I stayed here twice in a 7 day period Great Staff, Clean Room, Hot Breakfast, Low Price The hotel is in the process of being refurbished. I think I was in a refurbished room The hotel is about 1/2 mile off of the interstate. There are several convenience store/gas stations on the exit.
We just spent 2 nights here, I should have known when we pulled up and the pool was empty it wasn't going to be a very pleasant stay. someone sleeping in the lobby, for 2 mornings now! Housekeeping still cleaning rooms at 8:30 pm. Room was fairly clean but dated. I took a shower, and the drain would not drain down so the bathtub ends up filling up with water. Beds were comfortable, room was a bit noisy, kids running upstairs above us. and housekeeping yelling back and forth to one another. Not very Professional at all. A staff I feel, that needs further training! The girl that checked us in, did not act like she wanted to be bothered much at all. However The Lady that checked us out, was wonderful! Staff was constantly hanging around in the lobby. Its just very hard to believe this is a Quality Inn! Breakfast was okay. but get up early, if you want Breakfast. 6:00-9:00 only. I guess you get what you pay for, next time, I would gladly pay more.
It is pretty much your average hotel experience. The only negative thing I have to say is that housekeeping really needs to pay more attention to items left in the rooms by previous guests. In our room, there was a drink left in the fridge and a bar of soap in the shower. A friend of ours also said there were things left in their fridge. The staff was friendly and the prices are reasonable. It's a decent place to rest your head for the night.
The motel is dated but the room was upgraded with modern fixtures and was comfortable and quiet. Located conveniently to Rt 79. Limited selection to places to eat. I don't recommend the diner next door. The price for the night was less than $60 including taxes.
This was a 1-night stopover on our way home from vacation. We tried to use one of the coupons from the hotel booklets found at the rest stops etc. However the assistant manager on duty, Marshall, told us we didn't need the coupon and he could better the room rate to boot! Wow! Marshall was very professional and friendly as he checked us in, asked which floor we'd prefer and offered to open the breakfast room so we could have a look....when we inquired about the diner next door, he gave them a glowing recommendation and handed us a take out menu we could peruse. He offered up information about shopping, restaurants etc. He was quick and efficient and totally made our day! Thank you Marshall!!
Walk in entrance was typical and process took average 10 minutes to check in. The price for the stay was a little less expensive than other area hotels. I was a bit disgusted, not so much of the continental breakfast but at the guest, mostly college students who were also there staying the first night we were there. They appeared to be hungover, some with pj's on and using the breakfast waffle maker making messes and one in particular licking her fingers and putting them back on the waffle maker handle. YUCK GROSS!!! I used a napkin when handelinf any of the utensils in the dining room to get the food. I refused to touch it. They students very rude, loud, and with my grandchildren present, didn't care about their language others in the dining area had to hear. Thank God they didn't stay the next night. They really need to be dining attendants when there is this big of a crowd. After breakfast, we took the kids to the pool for a couple hours. The pool was less than desirable. It appeared that the chemicals were not used in a couple days but looked okay enough to play in it. We went back to room and changed and left for a long while and returned around 4 or so that evening. When we returned, the room attendant was near the end of the main hall which is where our rooms were. We come back thinking we could relax etc. The room attendant had not reached our room to get the trash out, dirty towels, vacuum, or make beds. We were totally exhausted. She said she will be to get our room next. At that point, I said no, were too tired to wait around. Just wanted to take naps. Very disappointed in how long it takes for room service to clean rooms. The next day was check out day. We went to breakfast, much much better than the day before, very little people and in and out and loaded up. The kids wanted to go to the pool one last time before we headed out. Got to the pool, the water actually had a greenish tint to it. It appears they do not clean their pools often or apply chemicals. I refused to let the kids in for fear they would get sick if they accidentally swallowed the water. What a disappointment for them. They just wanted to swim and they didn't understand at that age. Hey it's water to them. I was glad to get to visit family back home but regretfully, although it was not as expensive as the other hotels, however the service was not so great either. You get what you pay for. The next trip will definitely not be there.
They've upgraded some things since my last visit, and it was about time. They've added a much-needed elevator, automatic entrance doors, and they've expanded their breakfast area. They still have a way to go, like replacing the old carpet and some of the older furniture. But this place is a good value, compared to the more expensive hotels in the area. And for warmer weather, you can enjoy a pretty nice pool.
