The property's location is superb. The decor is a bit tired, but clean.

Clean and very spacious. Gym equipment was old and falling apart. Lots of old worn out fixtures. Nice, but a little shabby.

Nice and very spacious hotel. Lots of things that were old and falling apart. Like many others have said. Great old hotel in need of renovation.

Love the location in Boston. Friendly staff as well’

It’s old. Well maintained. But old. It’s best feature is its location.

Beautiful hotel on the corner of Newbury where you can shop till you drop!

Good location, very nice staff. Valets and everyone very helpful. Food was good too.

Nice hotel with good location. It is close to the park and shopping center. The fitness and business center are good

Very clean hotel, friendly staff, great food. I’m definitely going back there again! It was a little bit pricey but it’s worth the money

Doorman James and bartender Barry were born to be in customer service. They exceeded any reasonable expectations. The entire staff was customer centric and the park out front was the silver lining!

Definitely not the old Ritz anymore. Public restrooms were dirty, no towels etc in both the Men’s and Women’s rooms. Staff had poor English skills and no turndown service at night. Not what I would expect for hotel as expensive. Lastly, there was a miscellaneous charge of 30.00 for free WiFi and coffee in the morning. Not sure what was free in the end. Next time I’m in town I’ll go back to staying at the Four Seasons.

Hotel is in a great location. Boston Common is right across the street. The staff was excellent and what you would expect from a Hotel of this caliber. However, we thought the rooms were dated and really could use a facelift. Our bed sheets had a stains on them, and the armchair armrests were frayed to the point you could see the cushioning underneath. These aren't generally a big deal, but still when you spend $400+ a night you would think things would be in good order. I am not a picky person, but its the little things that make staying in upscale hotels worth spending more. This unfortunately was not the case at the Taj.

Nice hotel in the heart of the city. Walking distance to all attractions.

Cons: Airconditioning in room is incredibly loud and rattling. Big room and tiny bathroom. Curtains do not darken room. Hotel is dusty and has a musty smell through hallways. Rooftop restaurant/cafe is no longer open (this would have been the one redeeming feature of the hotel). Instead they have cramped little cafe on ground floor. Pros: Location.

Great staff! Good location. Housekeeping staff very helpful!

Hotel was really nice, and the location is great. Lots of eating and shopping nearby. It's right across the street from the commons.

Except food and kitchen service (messed up my Biryani) every thing was great. Only request I made was to make Biryani without raisins but they forgot. We’re not even apologetic enough.

The bed was hard and uneven. Wallpaper was peeling. The room walls were paper thin and I heard people in each room next door. The breakfast had a good selection but the food quality was just ok. Disappointing for a hotel as storied as the Taj.
