I spend 3 days here while visiting my family in the area and everything was very good. My favorite part was the delicious brekfast and talking to guests. The house was cut and my room big so it felt like being in a superhome and the service from the house manager Karolyn was so nice. I hope to be back when visiting my family again in Boston.

All i can say is WOW. What a charming place, what amazing antique furniture, what a lovely hostess, what a breakfast ! I have stayed in many chain hotels, Marriots, Hiltons and others and they don't come close to the hospitality and warmth from the Perkins Inn. Stay here for a true homey New England experience, don't think twice!

Booked this hotel in Boston prior to our arrival in the States on a road trip. Arrived early, no hotel signage, no street number. No indication at all it was a lodging. Dilapidated outbuildings. Main building was of clapboard construction with a porch, both in poor state of repair, as was the interior. We were early but as we were not happy with our first impressions, we rang the bell and asked if we could view the room. Not impressed and very disappointed. Shared bathroom - bad news. Jamaica Plain, down-market suburb of Boston. We cut our losses 'Hotelier' knew we were totally unimpressed and would not be staying but made no move to recompense, even our second night, so out of pocket in excess of200 dollars. Amazing that existing reviews sounded extremely good (reason we booked it), however, when you pay attention to the script, it is all in the same format! An extremely expensive mistake!!

Amazing place in Boston. A true hidden Gem both for value, location and for its wonderful staff. I have been at this place for several days back in August and cannot recommend it highly enough. Anything from the delicious complimentary breakfast, to the hosts, communication and quality of the touches of this place was amazing. I would give it 6 stars if I could.

I had a wonderful stay at the Perkins Inn. Tastefully decorated with all you need amenities. The staff were a pleasure and very helpful with great service! The breakfast was the cherry on the top! I highly recommend a night's stay at this Inn!

Absolutely loved this place. The decor was excellent and the structure itself was just breath taking. The breakfast in the morning was just perfect for us, and the staff on property was SO helpful and super friendly. I'll definitely be back in the future!

Truly remarkable Inn. It starts with Carolynn who is not only on top of all operations of Perkins but accommodating and personable. The house has had its "bones" spruced up but it feels like entering life in the early 1900's. Breakfast is terrific not only for its substance but chatting with other, most of whom are from other countries. Subway is 6 short blacks away and immediate neighborhood has lots of ethnic restaurants. Made Boston a great visit.

Pleasant House indeed nicely refurbished and clean, 17$ from downtown Boston in Jamaica plain. A young lady welcomed me barefoot saying she had a cold, showed me around briefly. Lovely room and amenities. But that is where it stops! I was on the last floor overlooking the street and the window has no blind or curtain for the night and absolutely no noise insulation. There are quite busy roads and it is simply not possible to even fall asleep. No double glazing. I had some road work until way passed 11pm then at 4 ish the street cleaning started as well as the traffic. The partition wall are so thin that you can hear the guest in the adjoining room. 149$ which I’ll never ever pay again to stay there!

This is a beautiful Inn, newly refurbished with attention to detail. The staff were delightful and helpful. We were served served a bountiful breakfast the following morning.. We would stay here again.

Such a friendly vibe thanks to the indomitable Caroline. Good old fashioned friendliness. Home cooked breakfasts. A lovely sense of community and great conversations if one wants something off the beaten track of cold clinical concrete edifices.
