Responsive host
This basement apartment is basic but functional. The apartment is located on a very busy four lane road. It rained really hard my first night and a little water was bubbling up from the floor tiles the next morning. I told my host about the water issue that morning and he resolved it by the time I returned that night. The apartment was bone dry upon my return.

Cozy, affordable, and convenient; close to the Harvard Square and a nice walking/running trail.
The room was spacious and relatively clean. I could tell the owner makes an effort to make it comfortable for travelers. The house is located a few minute walk from the Fresh Pond where you could run/walk. There are grocery stores (Trader Joe's and Whole Foods) in walking distance (about 15-20 minutes). If you take 72 bus (or other routes), you can get to the Harvard Square in 10 minutes or so (you could even walk). That being said, as it is a basement room, it smells like a dusty basement. Also, you would hear people upstairs walking, and a bit noisy (I often heard people walking in the middle of night, like 1 or 2 am, and could not sleep). If you are not too sensitive to the smell or noise, it's a good place to stay.

Snow in April.
Great stay for Easter Weekend. It was cold outside but very toasty inside. And now Wi- fi is available with good speed to stream anything you want so no need for TV. This was the 2nd time we stayed and loved it. The location and price is the best in the area. Even though it was April 2 and we had snow it was such a great sight to see the snow covered trees in this historic area. Definitely will be back.

Perfect weekend getaway
My boyfriend and I have never been to Boston so we planned a last minute trip and thankfully, Victor's basement apartment in West Cambridge was available to book. We were interested in the downtown Boston area, which to our delight was only a 15-20 min quick uber ride from the apartment.
If you plan on spending most of your trip out and about, then Victor's apartment is a great spot for you to rest your head. The pictures are very true to reality, and we had no issues (the ceiling is a little low so watch out if you are tall). Victor was also very accommodating and gave us recommendations for restaurants around the Cambridge area as well. All in all it was a perfect weekend getaway that we enjoyed very much!

Great location for experiencing Cambridge
Nice basement apartment as long as you're not too tall. Low ceilings were not a problem for us.Great for an efficiency apt. No sitting area but great size bedroom, kitchen and bath. The apartment was exactly as advertised and met our needs perfectly and much better than a hotel room would offer. The house is awesome and in a very nice neighborhood of Fresh Pond. The owners are very hospitable and accommodating. The only recommendation I would have is to offer internet/wifi. We definitely would rent again. Great local restaurants within walking distance. Also if you are an ex DECie have Victor share a great story with you.

Convenient location, nice neighborhood
Easy to get to Cambridge and Boston by bike or car or uber, nice area conveniently close parks and bike pathways and grocery stores, shopping etc. Quiet house, ceilings in the apartment are a bit low but not a problem as we spent most of our time out and about. Thanks!

Reasonably good, but with problems.
The basement apartment is located close to Harvard Square and is adequately furnished with large kitchen appliances. The price is great for the area, but there were two problems. first of all, there was no cell phone reception within the apartment; one had to step outside in order to complete a call or send a text message. The other problem is that the house is located on a VERY busy street, with heavy traffic much of the day. As a result, getting out of the driveway requires one to turn around one's car in a very narrow spot, with a large tree and bushes interfering. The owner has made an arrangement with his neighbor to facilitate this, but it is still quite difficult to negotiate the u-turn needed.

Very basic apartment; decent location, very quiet
So here's the reality--- we came to Boston for the 1 st time-- we were interested in sites, history and a Red Sox game. We were able to enjoy all of those! The apartment fit our basic needs but no more than that. Minimal furnishings/ dishes/linens.
Apartment is a converted basement so very low ceilings and very humid. All tile floors which was nice. There are windows into apartment and main level that you can see directly into and The bathroom has a door that opens to the shared laundry room. ( we didn't have any issues but just felt a little odd) . Also, no television . Owners very nice, allowed us to travel w/ our 2 dogs. In a nutshell--- if u just need a clean bed and don't mind a 20 minute bus/train ride to the sites this is fitting--- if u want a comfortable home to spend time and relax, probably not for you.

Great location, low ceilings
Three words about this place: location, location, location. It's close to everything in Cambridge and Harvard Square. There's a great lake (Fresh Pond) just 1/2 block North which has an awesome 3-mile walking/running trail. And we caught the T (train/subway) to Boston from a park-and-ride just a few minutes North of the property, which saved a ton of time and money over driving into Boston.
The place itself is a bit tight. The ceilings are very low. My wife and I are both 5' 9" and hit our heads several times. The kitchen and eating area is pretty small, so cooking and eating in the unit is tough. The sleeping room is comfy and adequate, but for four of us it was a bit tight. Fine for a couple nights, but our family of four was ready to get to a larger place after that.

Very confortable. Great time there.
I had a great time in Cambridge. The apartment is private and very confortable. With all the amenities needed. Really close by 72 bus to Harvard Square, about 5-10 min, or 25 if you prefer to walk.
Victor was not in town, but his son was really nice and he was willing to help at all time.
