Víðines is a perfect base for your Icelandic holiday. Have a memorable day at Snæfellsnes National Park, visit a natural hot spring like Deildartunguhver, or amazing waterfall like Hraunfossar. Other interesting places to visit are, the active volcano Grábrók, the crater Eldborg, historical viking landmark Reykholt, and the Ice tunnel in the glacier Langjökull. You can stroll through the nearby cozy town of Borgarnes and drop by the cafe’s, museums, shops and restaurants. Take a drive to the capital Reykjavík with all its glory, nightlife and culture. Make a day trip on the Golden Circle and see the exploding Geysir with all its natural power, and drop by the historic Thingvellir National Park, and view close up the beautiful Gullfoss waterfall.

In the evenings you will always come back home to this modern architecturally designed house in Víðines and the first thing you might do is, relax in the hot tub and enjoy the views or the Northern Lights in the peace and quietness after a memorable day. The house has an open kitchen-living room with a large kitchen island. It is very spacious and ideal for family and friends preparing a good meal together. The kitchen has all necessary tableware and high quality equipment for cooking and baking. The living room has floor to ceiling windows and an amazing view. Even if you are inside it feels like you are still completely connected to nature. The bathroom is spacious with a large countertop, a large shower room and a warm towel rack. The house has all latest equipment; FREE WIFI, large flat screen TV, dishwasher, washing machine and everything between. See detailed facility and equipment below. The guest house has a double bed and a bathroom with a towel rack. Beside the guest house is an outside shower, perfect to use before entering the hot tub.

The design of the house is outstanding and well thought out. It has floor to ceiling windows, open space, hardwood floor, natural stone tiles, designed lighting and with one of the most advanced and environmentally friendly floor heating systems installed in houses today. The heating system is perfect and we can guarantee you a warm and cozy house in the winter time. The house is designed by one of our greatest architects, Guðfinna Thordarson, that has also designed many other modern houses in Iceland.

On the large patio surrounding the house is a nice hot tub that fits up to 7 people, outdoor shower, barbecue grill and comfortable outdoor seating. The patio is perfect for making a good meal and relaxing in the peaceful environment.

We have been connected to Borgarfjörður since childhood and would like to share good advice and information about the house or the area so don´t hesitate to send us an email request about anything you would like to know and we will do our best to help you.

We had a great stay at Nes! The house was spotless and we appreciated all the amenities, such as the hot tub and fireplace. Beds were comfortable. Bathrooms were nice and stocked with plenty of towels and essentials like shampoo/conditioner. Kitchen was well stocked with plenty of dishes, good knives and other cooking utensils, and spices. We saw the northern lights several times from the spacious deck which also has a nice grill for cooking. We would love to stay here again or at one of the host’s other properties.

Absolutely beautiful location

We stayed here upon our arrival to Iceland. The home was very comfortable for our group of 8. My parents enjoyed having their our space in the guesthouse. My kids loved the outdoor shower and hot tub. The scenery was lovely with the stream beyond the house. We walked to Glanni waterfall from the house and Grabarok crater was around 2.5 miles away. We would definitely stay here again.

This is our third time in Iceland & we have stayed in a different part each time. I have to say that this location is ideal for getting to the north & the peninsula. The house is in a quiet location & it has everything you need. Everything is in great working order & it’s clean & homey. The communication with the owner is excellent & they have very thorough house instructions that I appreciate. I would gladly stay here again & I highly recommend it to others.

What a view !!

The house is amazing overall, with everything you might need, including lots of towels, card games, and a wood burning stove. The view off the back porch of the nearby river and mountains was incredible, and with Gianni Falls just a short walk away. It could use a second indoor shower, but otherwise we loved it and would stay again.

Wonderful home away from it all. Thorough instructions - just needed a bit of help operating stove and struggled with many light switches which we couldn’t quite figure out how to get total darkness! Wonderful spot - make sure you have 4WD in winter as any significant snowfall might leave you stuck for days - not that that would be all that bad!!
